Zandalari Offering Racial has a 5 days cooldown?

Is it really that powerful that it needs a 5 days Cooldown (120h)? I never used it yet, so I’m wondering.

I guess they were afraid the min-maxers would abuse it.
I’ve never bothered with changing it, set and forget is my usual go to.

So yeah, I had the same reaction to it. Wondering if some would really bother with it. Probably, 5 days does neuter it for anyone else though.

To be fair, (rn) my abilities having a chance to increase crit chance by 4% is quite a lot.

So I can somewhat understand the cooldown. But I would actually reduce it to 24h.

Yeah, I agree on that.
I think I even mentioned it in BFA that 24 hours would be a good middle-ground.

The cooldown is only for the swap between buffs. Can’t just swear allegiance to a different loa every 5 minutes.

I mean, 24h is the minimum I would go with. If I were generous I would say 6h. So you can change it technically 4 times a day.

Afaik no other racial in the game has such long cooldowns.

Honestly, who would care about that level of immserion?

I personally, as someone who usually advocates for immersion, see it as such a restrictive level that the gameplay aspect suffers a lot from the immersion aspect.

Edit: If we would be really fair in case of a fun experience, it would be even better to reduce the CD to 1h, but you can now change the Loa at a “spectral shrine” you can only see yourself when using the ability. But there is also the option to still go to Da’zalor and use a shrine there, reducing the CD to 30 minutes instead.

That way Zandalari players have the option to swap quite often, but still have to go the extra mile for an even shorter cooldown.

I don’t think it’s that big of a deal to be honest. It’s a small racial and they’re across the board more flavour than meaningful buffs.

Plus I can already see the complaints about people being kicked from groups because they got the “wrong” Zandalari buff for the specific situation they’re in, lol.

I’ve only changed mine because Magister Kalendris in the diremaul dungeon used it while under the control of dominate mind - waste of that imo, but at least then I didn’t attack the rest of the party. Not sure I ever changed it back…

4% increased crit chance at almost every turn… “Small racial”. Sure.

Quote from WoWhead:

Embrace of the Loa:

Embrace of Akunda - Your healing abilities have a chance to heal their target.
Embrace of Bwonsamdi - Your damaging abilities have a chance to deal Shadow damage and heal you for 100% of the damage done.
Embrace of Gonk - Increase movement speed by 5%.
Embrace of Kimbul - Your damaging abilities have a chance to cause the target to bleed over 6s. This effect stacks up to 3 times.
Embrace of Krag’wa - Taking damage has a chance to grant you additional Health and 66 Armor.
Embrace of Pa’ku - Your abilities have a chance to grant you 4% critical strike for 12 seconds.

To choose your Loa you will have to go to their shrines in Dazar’alor, and attune yourself to them by literally making an offering to their shrines! There is a five day cooldown on the spell, meaning you can only change your loa once every 5 days.

It is likely only such a long CD because of all the choices available. Also, Embrace of Akunda sounds like it actually has troll potential, because if you heal an ally and they have an enemy targeted, shouldn’t it heal the target too?

Unlikely. That’s like kicking a Paladin from the group for having the wrong aura slotted. How often do you encounter demanding (toxic) players on that level?

Also, there is an easy solution to fix that problem. Blizzard could make the buff not be readable for other players (means it isn’t displayed on their player frame info like all other buffs/debuffs). Since it is a complete personal thing, there isn’t even a need to display it to other players.
