Zandalari Paladin vs Alliance Paladins

This is my first post, but i want to discuss about the paladins in wow and give new ideas that I hope can be added in wow if the comunity likes them.

First of all I want to say that I like the idea of Zandalari Paladins, I think the concept of a Loa blessed Warrior is really cool and I love that we have more paladins options in the horde.

But, I test a Zandalari Paladin in the ptr and it looks really weird to me, the specific racial mount is really great (I think is the best paladin mount) but is the only thing that helps with the Prelate fantasy, all of the other animations looks very weird (and outdated) and have a human style. I was testing Retribution but I believe Protection and Holy have similar animations. The light infused hammers of judgement, divine storm, etc doesnt looks good in a Zandalari, the wings of Avenging Wrath doesn’t fit the Prelate idea, it looks like a human/dwarf paladin.

For that reason I was thinking about possible solutions. I believe that everyone agrees with me when I say that the WOW art team is one of the best things of the game, and updating animations, models, etc is a good way to help the Prelate fantasy.

My ideas are to customize more the paladin class for every race. In similar ways to druids and shamans (but I believe specific race ghost wolf forms could be better, but is for another thread this). The paladins should have specific animations for the light infused weapons spells (judgement for example) and for the wings. For example

Alliance Paladins
Humans-Keep it the same (light hammers and angelical/gryphon wings)
Dwarves-Keep it the same (hammers and angelical wings, but think about the wings like an eagle/gryphon wings, based on the Wildhammers)
Draenei-I believe the hammers looks bad on draenei, but the purple crystal maces could be great, imaginate when you use judgement instead of hammer you throw a light infused crystal hammer, for the wings I would like to see a Naaru based wings, the current wings doesn’t look so good in draeneis in my opinion.
Dark Iron Dwarves and Lightforged Draenei I think should be like Dwarves and Draneis.

Horde Paladins
Blood Elves-Change the light hammers for swords, imagine a divine storm with light infused swords, the wings I don’t exactly knows what should be, like a Dragonhawk wings maybe?
Tauren-The most awesome light weapon could be light infused totems, throwing a light totem with judgement sounds very nice, but I believe that could work with light infused axes or “mini polearms”, about the wings looks like an eagle feathers, I don’t think they need a change.
Zandalari Troll-The trolls weapon could be light infused axes (troll berserkers?) or “mini polearms” like the polearms that have the guards in Zul’Dazar but with a reduced size, the wings could be something like the Pterrordax wings or with a Pa’Ku style, I believe a Zandalari troll with a giant glowing dino wings would be awesome.

What do you think about this customizations? I think could make the paladin more cool for every race.
(Sorry if I have a bad english, I tried to do my best)

I’m all for racial customisation for certain classes, was thinking about this myself the other day.

Even if they just added some more glyphs for variation.
Theres already a naaru wing model in the game from legion holy priests which I think would look cool on Draenei Paladins.
Regular wings look okay on the other races imo but I agree with judgement spells, particularly Tauren and Trolls. I’d like to see a golden spear effect for judgement on those two as it fits their more tribal culture.

Priests should have more racial identity too like the good old days.
Even just slight colour adjustments would be effective. For example, Night elf priests should have more of a blue hue to their healing spells.

Oh and give Dwarf shammies a ghost ram Glyph!

in fact Zandalari paladins are not actually paladins, but “gold warriors”
they are not using power from light, but from gold

and ofc it’s not the only “wrong” name for a class
night elfs can be priests, but they are not using light, but moon
women NE can be druid and man NE can be priestess
draenai can be warrior, which is stupid for them, as every draenai can use power of light, but this one is too stupid for this and became a warrior
worgen can be DK, but worgens are already cursed
dwarfs can be mages, while only dark irons specialized in magic arts, as same as wildhammers specialized in gryphon riders
goblins can be priests and this is confirmed joke from blizzard
and so on

not only this single class/race combination has it’s problems

Nah they’re using the light of the Loa of the kings.

It’s litteraly the light, there are ofc gold weavers but they’re their own people.

its abit like how kilturan and zandalari druids arent actualy druids. Dont know the name for the kituran ones but zandalari are dinomancers. Tecnicaly tauren are sunwalkers not paladins too.

I didn’t know the holy priest skill before, Blessing of T’uure. It looks really good, I can’t post a link but wowhead have a screenshot.

It must be a glyph at least.

I agree with the priest different color lights depending the worship entity of the race, but this is for another thread.

I like that description of the warrior class xD

And yet…playing a warrior takes more skill than playing a faceroll loladin.

You cant prove your point with arguments, cause all bfa DD specs are balanced to be easy.

So thats was a purĂŠ defensive temper tantrum from a warrior player. I guess joke hit the spot!

On a serious note, warriors in a fantasy games must have something more special, some flavor. As of know when I tried it I was bored how uninspiring and dull war gameplay is.

I am sorry but I am still one of those old school guys who thinks it should have stayed Alliance Paladins and Horde Shaman. In fact I would prefer more faction specific classes.

Create some actual differences between the faction.

Capitalist pigs. >:(
But you are wrong, they use the Loas powers, not gold, but gold weavers exist.

Arms is a powerhouse with heavy blows, and Fury is a juggernaut just, smashing everything left right and center.

DPS is fairly on par among PUGs, at least with same RIO on m+10 complexity, no significant utility to tackle reaping or infested and quite basic flavourless class fantasy is what makes war stand out.

Just some random dude with big axe/sword/whatever doing slash/heroic slash/circle slash/charging slash - the way I feel it.

I’m not saying that the race/class combo of Zandalari paladins have problems, Im gonna make one, but certain animations looks bad, doesn’t feel like a Zandalari, changing specific spells animations depending on race I believe is the solution.

Paladins, Druids, and Priests are unique classes depending on his culture or religion, unlike rogues or hunters for example.

PD-I like the draenei warrior description xD

Cool ideas, dude, any and all variations I’m sure will be welcomed by most players with open minds to expansion!

I miss going super-saiyan and throwing out those back breaking hammers of wrath  Can do it now of-course, after 1 expansion and a 1.5 second global cooldown yawns loudly

I have no idea where did you take that from, because that’s not what High Prelate said, here have a look on this:

In other words, they’re Loadins.

As for Zandalari customization, they’re scholar society so books aren’t iffy on them, and they also happen to fight with hammers.

But it would be cool if they would have some aztec themed wings.

Go. Watch. Rastakhans. Rumble. Trailer.

Thats what shamans and paladins should look like.
Instead of some stupid hammers and wings they should summon giant glowing claws and tigers.

You think lol? And calling my reply a tantrum? Please😂

Thank goodness opinions can differ… I love warriors. The animations and effects are awesome. I’ll take my stomp, leap and thunder smash over any bubble and sparkly dust.

Yes, it would be could, but I don’t know any big Loa like Quetzatcoatl, Hakkar could be but Zandalaries hate him, for that reason I propose a pterrordax theme.

we used to seen as great leaders and masters of combat. Beings who triumphed with their own skill rather than invoking some other worldy power… We were like that in MoP but they have been failing to represent us since then, even Legion it felt like our class hall wasnt really about warriors. Plus if you werent using arms you got a artifact weapon that they made up on the spot with no lore what so ever.
