Zandalari Prelates Post-Rezan

What is the state of the Zandalari Prelates after the death of Rezan? If I understood correctly, the Prelates got their holy magic from Rezan… but he’s dead now.

So how exactly are there still Zandalari Prelates/Paladins available to play? Did they jump ship to other Loa and still get Holy magic, or are they now somehow running off of faith in a dead Loa?

They draw power from faith in him and his teachings. But their purpose is to serve any Loa. They can be vessel of Kimbul or Graal but I believe that they’re still loyal to Rezan.

Ahh that makes a lot of sense! Especially as the Light in WoW seems less of a traditional deity to begin with and more a fatih-force.

(After all even traditional Silver Hand paladins have a series of tenets moreso than a god, and the Blood Knights were very much ‘Knights of Silvermoon’ first and ‘Knights of the Light’ second back in TBC)

It really depends on how WoW handles magic.

It would be interesting if it worked the way Warlocks were in D&D, I.E. they get their powers from a specific powerful creature/wanna-be diety, but if that powerful creature is killed or disappears; they will have to find another source.

I suppose it does cheapen the drama a bit if your patron dies yet you can still run around casting spells and using magic like nothing happened.

The Death of Rezan (next mont in the theaters) is a bit… overrated
He is a Loa
Just need time to return in the physical world
Torga returned quite fast
Sethralis… she needed a bit more time
Rezan is “dead”, but not gone
Even Shatra will be back!
A great test of faith for a Prelate - so my Loa is chillin in the court of Bwonsamdi, but he will reaturn! Lets hope in my life…
And as Zakkaru said, the prelates draw power from faith in him and his teachings
So everything is cool

With Rezan I wouldn’t be as sure as we know Rezan was killed with the same method as the Loas from Zul’Drak, who can’t come back either.

The same for Shadra, I believe.

“Death” isn’t a huge deal for Loa (I imagine we will see Hi’reek again) but Rezan had his essence consumed.

Except they can and will
Well according to dev anyway

Do you have a source for that?

Rhunok was sacrificed by his followers during the events in Zul’Drak, but his spirit lived on and appeared to an adventurer, asking them to return to Har’koa and tell her “No matter what, we loa are eternal.” Har’koa stated that Rhunok would return as his spirit would live on forever.
This is most likely also the fate of the other Drakkari loa that did not have their fate mentioned in quests; Akali and Sseratus.

Tharon’ja was also sacrificed during the events of Zul’Drak, but his eternal spirit was still called to the Isle of Thunder by the Zandalari years later.

It was, however, confirmed that the lost loa are not permanently gone and that they could return. - The Lost Codex 2018-11-03. Blizzcon 2018 Interview: Alex Afrasiabi & Patrick Dawson - Story and Systems | The Lost Codex

Exactly, he was killed, not consumed.
Rezan, like Shadra was consumed, but unlike Shadra, the being who contains Rezan’s essence is still alive.

Dazar, first troll king, he was reanimated using Rezan’s essence. Until Dazar relinquishes the power, Rezan is gone.

All Drakkari Loas besides Mam’toth will reincarnate, that’s what Har’koa said to “not mourn them as they will reincarnate”. Mam’toth self imploded himself and that’s what permanently killed him.

Developers said that “Yazma talked a lot of :poop:” on the question “Are loas truly dead?”. So Rezan and Shadra will be back and I’m sure Hir’eek will be back too.

With Rezan I’m absolutely sure he will return - because his spirit is still alive, it was used to reanimate King Dazar - so the moment Dazar goes to rest, Rezan will be able to be reborn.

There is also a clue in Xibala. That massive region is a resting place of mother of Rezan. Those who are familiar with Meso american mythology knows that Xibalba (as this is the RL name) is a actually a name for underworld.

Belves and Dark Irons despite Zandalari protests made a digsites and picked artifacts that were buries there, Eye of Xibala and Breath of Xibala.

If that Loa was a link to Shadowlands and she was a mother of Light Loa Devilsaur then it’s highly possible she would be able to revert his fate.
But that is to assume if devs won’t forget about Xibala plot and that King Dazar is still chiling in his Tomb.

We won’t ever see Rezan, Shadra or Hir’eek again for the simple fact that Zandalar will be left to rot in irrelevance once this expansion is over.

Looks like we have oracle on forums.

Isn’t there some truth to it though?
have we gone back to Outland? to Northrend? to Pandaria?

They’re all stuck in their time bubbles just like Zandalar will be.
YOU KNOW IT IN YOUR HEART TO BE TRUE!

Well belfies are still around, highmountain are in the world and presnet and so are the niteborn appearing in warcampaign. If that would be true then they wouldn’t appear ever again outside of expansion they were introduced.

Representation and actual development are two entirely seperate things in this game. Just ask the Humans from Stormwind.

We’ll obviously bump into Zandalari in future expansions since they’re now a playable race. But to revisit Zandalar and actually work to resurrect their lost Loa? That’s another matter entirely.

The best we can hope for is either a tweet, a clarification in some (un)related future quest or an update in a Chronicles 4 or 5.

I corrected your post for you.
Gnomes have been littered around since vanilla, and are only just now getting the spotlight now their leader has been put on ice.

I fear for the gnomes now that they are getting direct attention.
