Greetings Argent Dawn,
In this topic I'm presenting the "Zandalari RP project" to you, a community project preparing to feature 3 Zandalari guilds, representing each caste relevant to the Zandalari society, being:
- The priesthood. (Religious RP)
- The warrior caste. (Military RP)
- The peasant caste. (Civilian RP)
We are aiming to portray 3 Zandalari expeditions into the world, based on the different values of the 3 castes and how they adapt to becoming a part of the Horde and more world-open.
If you're interested in following us on this journey, you'll be able to find a permanent Discord link below.
We're looking forward to welcoming you.

I want to know what becoming a War-God entails. It's an awesome title and I definitely want to use it, but so far we've seen two War-Gods of the same group (Dinomancers) and one unrelated one and no real explanation what they're actually about.

The Zandalari War-Gods are the leaders of the Beast Ward, so they're fairly specific. They're also among the highest ranking Zandalari, and it probably isn't in your best interests to give yourself the same weight of authority as the likes of War-God Jalak for instance.
There are two in the Beast-Ward, but there's another War-God that's a Rare you can kill on the Isle of Thunder. Tbh we don't know how high ranking they are.

The fact they're named "War-Gods" implies that they rank quite high on the Zandalari scale and could be interpreted as Zandalari Generals or Commanders which have been blessed by their chosen Loa. They're bound to be one of the highest ranking members of Zandalari society - most likely above the Priesthood.
theres no war-gods on zandalar to my knowledge, so it's possible that a war-god is part of zul's expedition and a title given to zul followers as well, rather than the zandalari who stayed on zandalar
edit: the invite isnt working btw
Yeah, interested to stay up to date but the Discord link is all borked.
I'm very sorry for the inconvenience! The link has been updated.
The project grows and becomes more fleshed out every day, join us and share your ideas with us.
You're most welcome.
I wish you best of luck in this project Angeteb! Once it's off the floor and into the air, contact me and I will provide you a spot on the Troll guild list!

Thank you for the support, Sianta! It's still some time up to BfA but it can never hurt to be prepared.
It's going to be interesting to see future interactions between Darkspear and Zandalari, now standing united under the same banner.
Eagerly waiting for BfA and to see this concept in the game itself!
The Zandalari - Horde interaction is an interesting one, it has me questioning whether all Zandalari will remain as stalwart with regards their ideology and caste system when they see the integration within the Horde i.e. The Darkspear. Do you think some may wish to seek out a place within the Horde instead of remaining as -just- allies from afar?

I'm fairly certain quite some Zandalari might regard this as new gained freedom of sorts and integrate fully into the Horde, in this project we'll have them of all kinds. Some traditional and some eagerly venturing into Azeroth.
In the end, it's all up to the player how they're going to portray their character and their coping with this big change.
Perhaps it's an interesting idea to, instead of guilds, use the new community feature? That way you can have a big community for EG the warrior caste or the priest caste, whilst they're also part of their own military units/etc.(And allows them to be in their own specific guilds and concepts whilst also still being a part of Zandalari society.)
Indeed, that was my thought process! Personally, I'm leaning more toward the Horde-integration and drafting up a concept to go along side such a prospect. Which could lead to interesting interactions!
I'll join the discord when I'm able and find out more :)

Well, the concept becomes more fleshed out every day. What we have so far is 3 new expeditions, based on the traditional caste system. Venturing into Azeroth with 3 goals of their own.
The Priesthood is on a mission to bring the word of the loa into every corner of Azeroth, the Warrior Caste is eager to prove the might of the Zandalari to the Horde and the Peasant Caste is seeking to secure new trading routes.
We'll ofc use original names for the guilds but that part is still work in progress.
But we also planned to create one of those communities for the Zandalari community, it seems just too handy a thing to pass.
Nice and active in this discord, also has a purpose - would recommend!
Battle for Azeroth is here at last!
