Zandalari troll inspiration

I always found it weird that Zandalari trolls speak in a thick african accent yet their culture and buildings are heavily insiped by Aztec and Mayan civilisations.

So whats the deal with that? Maybe they wanted to make Zandalari based on some ancient african civilisation but there aren’t any?

There is Egypt obviously but it is already taken by the Tol’vir.

Trolls always borrowed from multiple inspirations.

Ever since Vanilla they were using pre-columbian architecutre, Jungle trolls had Jamaican accent and Forest trolls Cuban.
Voodoo is African of origin.

So trolls never really were parroting in 100% from one specific culture, they’re mixture of few things.

Um… Mali, Ghana, Axum, Ethiopia… what?

WoW trolls as a whole when not living in huts have a largely mesoamerican architecture that’s now proven to originate with the Zandalari pyramids that are actually titan facilities.

The west african accents are just flavour and make sense in the context of the Zandali language. Gurubashi and Darkspears speak with a Jamaican accent, one that is derived from west african language melodies.

I’d argue normal trolls seem more inspired from Oceania, especially Polynesian natives. Tiki targets at least originate from them.

That’s very ignorant if you think there aren’t any.

Anyway Trolls have a mixture of inspirations like many other races In wow.

Blood elves are heavily inspired by Middle Eastern, French, and elvish culture, yet they don’t speak in any particular accent. Just normal English which sometimes sounds American sometimes London depending on the NPC in silvermoon. Same with other races.
