Zaralek Cavern Rares

Pointing out my frustrations as a collector:

  • Very random spawn rates (As of writing this, 40+ mins without any rare spawns on a totally unsaved character) unlike what was posted at the time of changes to rares (Except the rares from research under fire event)
  • Unnecessary complex lockout system which I can only found some speculations on how it works (once per 4 days?)
  • Very hard to solo for many classes especially on less geared alts (If not impossible)
  • BOP random low level gear drops making certain transmog items very hard to collect (Some of them could easily be BOE) and/or random drop from normal mobs that share the transmog (May be should wait for next expansion with shared transmog collection? :smiley: assuming it works on rare)
  • Random shard switching which does not happen in other zones (This is clearly visible for groups who still do research under fire if they remain in queue after the event started)

As someone who has been farming forbidden reach and this zone recently, I feel there might be some unintended bug in the implementation of the changes made. It feels like the zone is an experiment but for someone who didnt play the zone at the time it was active, it is super frustrating to farm the missing items from the rares.

Players wanted the Rares’ healthpools to be reduced so people could solo them, instead Blizzard ignored that and had less rares up at any given moment on a completely random rotation… wanting to “encourage” group play.

Instead we get damn all people doing them now and Rares despawning…

As a person that typically plays at midnight onwards it really ticks me off that I can’t solo them and obviously I can’t ask for help at such hours…

The area is split into multiple sub zones

Each day one of these zones would be ‘inactive’ - ie no rares or bonus objectives would spawn in it.
This all runs on a set rotation.

A cycle is basically from when a zone ‘activates’ until when it goes to inactive again
Which is basically 4 days

Rares are on a per ‘cycle’ lockout.

I’m farming mr Karokta on 12 characters per cycle so i share your frustration and pain.

Huh? All rares spawn in the day within a few hours, each rotation is every 15 minutes… it’s the SAVES to killing that rare that lasts for 4 days.

That’s not correct

Each set of rares (per sub zone) are inactive for one day per every 5 days

Except the calderra zone which is active all the time

So for example
Karokta’s cycle reset yesterday
Which means on Monday it didn’t spawn at all
This also includes Viridian king and Brull who share the same sub zone

Trust me on this one i’ve been camping these caverns for a long looooong time.

I solo these things, when I can be bothered to go down into the caverns.

I rarely find anyone else doing them :S
