Zaralek dailies

Is it just me, or are the dailies of zaralek cavern popping up every day now? Seems everytime I go down another 1 or 2 pop up. Hopefully I am imagining it because Blizz promised they would move awat from this nonsense.

Especailly seeing as there are the little events in the zone

Anyone can confirm?

I’m literally seeing none of the events today and I’ve been there for 3 hours. I just want one for rep but it just doesn’t seem to be happening :frowning:

I usually find a couple of quests per day

There are 2 world quest, 1 daily and 8 chests that spawn there daily + all the rares, events and trash piles.

Edit: might also be even more wq’s because I don’t count the pet wq’s since I never do them myself. Also it seems the one at the start of the week and one on saturday rotation still applies to some world quests like the dragonflying ones.

It seems that they enabled more wq with gear pieces after weekend

Not surprising cause cave was dead liek Dodo exept for people spam farming rares.

There seems to be more regular rotation of quests in Zaralek, not sure if there are more quests on a per-week basis, but i welcome the gradual refreshing, personally.

It was inane that on only two days in the week there was anything to do out in the world. (Besides roaming around, hoping for rares or events.)

none is forcing you to do them, it’s good they are there fore who want’s stuff like that.

Personally I think its a good improvement on what we’ve had in DF so far.

I like that I can log in every day for something new to do. It’s only 2 quests per day, and the Reset Cooldown is the same as any other DF world quest. So you can either log in everyday, or save them and do them twice a week.

However the Shell Corporation quest can do one! What a horrible quest.

There was a WoWhead article this evening which explains now the Events work:

The problem was always this idea that you have to do certain things within a certain short timeframe in order to reap any meaningful reward and then the same quest and reward appears again over and over and over - a combination of fear of missing out and then putting a stop to the rewards just as you’re getting into it and punishing you if you don’t follow this cadence exactly.

It’s been referred to as “the eggtimer problem” by the people who originally made this game because the optimal way to play is log in, do a couple quests, log out, set an egg-timer, and do it again when the egg-timer expires. Nobody has fun with this.

If this is happening again I agree that’s a problem, but at least it’s not mandatory power gains on top of it, compelling all to participate in that charade regardless of interest. I mean if it’s just transmogs that’s annoying for people who love appearance sets but at least it isn’t ruining the general gameplay loop. It’s still silly though. Dailies are a disease.

and why is so ? because you dont like them ?

on this same ground dungeons and raids are desease too.

Dungeons don’t have lockouts, so you’re straight wrong on this. Except M0 but they matter for all of 1-2 weeks every season.

Raids were fundamentally designed to be run on a weekly schedule due to the sheer number of people involved. They are designed to not have you log in every day, but instead of make a weekly appointment with friends - like appointments to go to sports clubs and the like.

Which is of course exactly why they’re toxic when you move them out of that context and into LFR.

The vanilla developers were well aware of this apparent contradiction but accepted it, unable to come up with a solution. If you have one I’m all ears.

The dailies problem? Easy solution to that though. Just make quests.

This attitude is a disease, “I don’t like it, so it should be removed!”, “Oh noes! I have to do a few quests before queueing up for my precious raids/mythic+/PvP! Quests are a plague on the game!”

A lot of people enjoy doing world content, and the only way to provide that (Besides the “Named mobs relay race”, like in Forbidden reach) is repeatable quests, calling for those to be nerfed or outright removed because you like some other form of content is the height of selfishness.

See, here’s the fun part: I didn’t call for any of the things you mentioned to be removed. :]

In fact I’d appreciate harder world content as well in addition to what we have, although I actually think 10.1 delivers here except it’s so timegated.

No, I only want the timegates and them disappearing automatically gone.

You called dailies “A disease”, from where i’m standing, that puts you very close to the “Remove what i don’t like”-crowd.

Harder world content doesn’t really work TBH, people will just wait for more players to crop up, to overpower it by sheer force of numbers (Instanced content enforces a “X players or fewer”-limit, that’s impossible out in the world), or ignore it like the old Elite-quests.

I did indeed, but “dailies” are different from other types of quests in only one way: They appear once, and only once, every single day.

So you convert those quests to not dailies. Figure out something else.

Which is fun and social, and besides there are loads of mobs you can solo and where it’s a challenge to stay alive. Imbu and Brackenhide were other examples of great fun.

There’s also another option which is to make your character hilariously ineffectual unless you’re ready for the content. That way no amount of zerging will do it - like in vanilla where you literally need 40+ level 1’s to take out Hogger.

you convinenintly ignore the fact that those dailies are rewarding you garbage. 385/389 gear ? you get that just from spaming rares anyway . the emoung of upgrade currency you get is negligible at best.

in their current form they should be on 3 hour rotation they are so worthless.

Of course I ignore it because it isn’t my problem anymore. When it was back in 9.1 it drove me to quit the game for months.

The fact that is no longer my problem is the very first thing I said.

For people who do like these quests I’d like for them to be able to play the game casually when and how they want without falling behind their own peers. It’s not about me, really. I am ignoring it.

yeh my problem is blizzard going back on their word. Make them twice a week like they were season 1. That way we can get our things out the way and not feel forced to log in everyday lest we fall behind. Simple
