Hello, I have tried zekvir ? just yesterday on my arms warrior, and after few wipes I managed to get a grasp on mechanics and kill that angry lobster. Now I have few questions about ?? zekvir.
First: How hard it is or is it even possible to manage on warrior? Did anyone tried it out on their warr? Do you maybe need extra stuff like runes, potions etc to down it?
Second: Are the mechanics same as in ? difficulty or there are additional things to watch out for? For now I got that the most important thing is kill cocoons asap before they hatch and then everything else move out of bad stuff and maybe interrupt green jelly cast.
And third: it maybe not very important but still, what gear ilvl you would recommend to do it on, currently I am 628.
I am not banking on actually soloing zekvir straight away but still wanna give it a try before the season ends, so would be viable for me to get some advice on it, thank you
Definitely doable but keeping healing potions around is never not a good idea.
The fight gets much longer and his hp is much higher. You have a 2nd phase. Also you want to interrupt his new heal ability, use Brann as a healer to keep you alive and preferably be ilvl 600+. Personally did it at 605. Also see if warriors can find a way to remove slows. Spell reflect is a great ability for you to use.
That 2nd phase upgrades a few of his abilities and adds an additional one while lowering the amount of auto attacks he does. Once you get comfy it’s easier than the first one. Slow down, take it one mechanic at a time and prioritise doing them because everything is a oneshot. Egg’s a priority but with your ilvl i imagine you’ll be doing crazy damage.
Fairly easy, you have lots of ways to remove slows and enough damage to kill the eggs before they hatch. You can also use spell reflect to ignore the fear in P2. No consumables are necessary.
There is now a heal cast you need to interrupt, so you need an alternate way to handle the spittle. Charge as slayer, avatar, and bladestorm all remove it so you should be fine. So does your gnome racial.
600 or so, exceptionally skilled players can do it with notably less. The fight is not tuned very tightly at all.
The fight is a marathon not a sprint, work out what CDs / abilities you need available to kill the egg every time and don’t get caught without them. The egg spawns every 30 seconds.
Don’t charge the eggs when they spawn, walk the boss over to them and use leap + charge to dodge the frontal if it goes on you whilst killing the egg. Try to stay near the boss at all times to make dodging the frontal as easy as possible.
Thank you for the answers, it helped me quite to understand more about the fight itself, yeah I forgot that there will be heal thing on ?? difficulty. Will give it a go then after reviewing my ability toolkit, and yeah would probably get few hp potions just in case.
Main thing what I understood is taking it slow, no rushing and trying to focus as much as possible on mechanics. That I also learned from doing higher delve tiers, where there are some oneshot mechanics which can cause a wipe not because you could not sustain general damage from a boss or powerful mob but because you did not moved out of that swirlie in time (happened on caskel in spiral weave)
I’d like to hi-jack this thread to make a question without creating a new thread:
Is there a way to make Brann reliably switch target from Zekvir to the egg? Sometimes he immediately switches, sometimes he switches when it’s about to hatch, sometimes not at all even though I start hitting it as soon as it spawns.
Brann does whatever the hell Brann wants to do im afraid. I had him reset the fight at least 3 times because he grabbed aggro and disengaged out of the room.
He dies constantly when you play a class without a taunt and you just gotta pray he somehow lives or actually actively offheal him, which is ridiculous in itself.
He can also get feared while having aggro, run through the door while feared and reset the fight that way.
Do it as Slayer, whenever he cast the slow move 10 yard away and charge back to him, it will remove the dot: it’s a 30 sec internal CD meaning it’s up for every cast, without having to rely on Brann or Avatar/Bladestorm, although Bladestorm is a nice to have backup in case you fail to see it in time.
1 advice: Keep leap for emergency evasion maneuvers.
Avoid to put him next to the stairs due to the cone visual glitching there.
I did it with ~610/615 ilvl so for sure manageable, but I would respec Fury to ensure you have burst window available for every eggs.
Then yes, it’s only a question of getting used to the fight and grind him down. Main takeaway is “you have time, no need to rush for 1% dps and die”
Yeah I also was thinking maybe fury is just better to get the eggs down.
After trying it like dozens of times for couple of last days I have realized that first, I have real struggle with downing eggs quickly on arms without using all cooldowns (I can still take them down in time if I don’t have to move or anything, but you know rng can happen and you need to run while the egg is there).
Second, sometimes I get sent to Valhalla with zekvir melee, or barely survive, while for instance taking down the egg and tanking zekvir in meantime. Some people were saying he has crits sometimes on these melee attacks, which sounds really even more like horrid rng, unless you play tank spec.
Also for a little more context: my brann was around lvl 37
