I get stuck in combat all the time in Zereth Mortis, especially around the Forge of Afterlives area. No mobs are attacking me. There aren’t even anything remotely close to me. Super annoying to have to travel on foot in this giant zone when I am unable to mount up half the time.

I always ALT F4 out if I really can’t leave combat, or just log out normally if it will allow.
Better than having to be on foot for the whole duration.
Sometimes leaving the zone can help also.

Yeah it seems to last up to 2-3 minutes and then goes away. No mobs in sight or chasing me either. Might just be bugged from various NPCs fighting other mobs around the zone causing players to get into combat

Does seem to be worse in certain zones. I remember it being particularly bad on the Island of Mechagon. I used to Hearth to Boralas and fly back when it happened, annoying but less annoying then running around unmounted.

although i appreciate your problem solving skills, i do think this is a problem and needs to be fixed. Quite frankly (hoping i dont sound too harsh or insensitive, the fact that this patch has been in development for about half a year… does mean it is rediculous that there are so many bugs… it is not okay… Still… thank you for your helpful reply
Yes, please fix this, have be going back an forth with my heartstone, but really anoying when I have just found a chest.

I’m sorry if it sounds like I’m not saying something should be fixed, just merely offering a solution in the mean time.
Nazmir was terrible in BfA for keeping you in combat with things. I have no idea why or what could keep you in combat across an entire zone, this same issue seems to exist for some in ZM.
It would be great if it could be fixed ofc.

This bug is way worse than its previous versions because it doesn’t only happen every now and then, but rather ALWAYS when you get into combat. You basically can’t mount in ZM like this. And Shadowmeld doesn’t help either which usually does solve it.

MOP had a toy gadget thingy that dropped from one of the rares that spawned something that ran away from you drawing all the aggroing mobs with it, taking you out of combat.
I got it at the time as Shaman have no aggro lose ability and found it quite useful.
Then Bliz started doing their “Only works in X” bs and it’s no longer worth the time I spent camping that rare. I wish they’d stop doing that. Also they could add another similar toy now.
FYI, this is what worked for me.
- Log out
- Log in with another character
- Log out
- Log in with your main again

Which suggests they want that bug in the game. They just slow people down so much that they lose interest and go watch paint drying instead.
this stuck in combat is not a bug its a diliberate mechanic added by blizz in the burning crusade , back in the days when blizz had people talk to you ingame when you had a complaint this person said to me when i complained about this new stuck in combat bug ,he said its not a bug its doing what it was meant to do so we cant fix it
This issue is still not fixed. I had to kill my warrior 4 times in an hour today. Hearthstone does not work for me. I dont have pocapoc with me so no guardians, pets or bodyguards that is actually in combat.

Sounds like a bug there has been there for a Long time in many exspansions. Why i love my shadowmeld
For me it’s always rocopoco or what ever it’s called. If I’m stuck in combat can guarantee if I retrace my steps he’s pumping away at some random mob for no reason. The lil guy really does have a mind of his own.
There are situations where mobs are fighting each other dealing 0 dmg to each other and if you are close you will be combat flagged, killing one of them is helping most of the time, but if you run away combat will stay.
this is happening to me constantly with my hunter, and fake death doesn’t seem to work, this sucks
yeah that doesn’t work for me. I was stuck in combat for 20 min until I gave up and used my hearthstone got to Oribos and then I finally got out of combat. then I went into 1 combat when I returned and I am now again STUCK IN COMBAT
