Zereth Mortis reward system is horrible

It seems like this patch will not have any open world gearing system reliable… Sandworn relics are very very few… you are gonna need 2 weeks to get 1 item! Rares drop 233 ilvl??? not even an upgrade from Korthia.

So you either do M+ or raid or you just stay with Korthia 233 gear… I know eventually after very long time when you upgrade cypher console to 6/6 you will be able to get proper gear progression… until then its just waste of time… a mindless grind with no reward.

They managed to make it worse than Korthia.

100% agree. They should give you same gear as Mythic Jailer drops from rares on the first few days of the patch!

Really good post, you have my full support!

Agreed.

Why should I have to work for my gear in a game? Cmon, let me just get things for free so I don’t have to play the game.

Korthia gear started at 200, ZM gear starts at 226, which exactly matches to 26 ilvl increase in other content. The ilvl of rare drops seems to vary - it’s usually 233, occasionally 236, and I saw one lucky person get a 242 item. I’m pretty sure I’ve had the same kind of variation from Korthia rares. Possibly it’s based on the ilvl of the character that loots it.

so its titanforging but unfair xd

I believe when you upgrade the cypher system thing then the gear you get is higher item level. I think we’ll eventually get 252.
Not sure how much time and effort it takes to upgrade the cypher system. My guess is that it will be about the same as to get rank 6 with Codex (something I never reached).

The cypher system could be good if:
It isn’t as grindy slow as Codex Research.
It didn’t have the timers (some things take 6 days to activate).
It was Account Wide.

It’s a lot fairer than the world we encounter when we step outside our front doors, so it seems pretty good to me.

When you will upgrade Cypher to 6 of 6 level all dally and wq in ZM will be 252 ( normal raid ilevel)

You can buy 246 gear from a guy with currency that drops in the zone.

Sure I got a 242 or something ilvl drop off of a mob or from a chest, legs iirc

I got this from something I killed there on my paladin:

actually is exactly like real life system where rich (better geared) get richer (higher lvl rewards) than casuals (poor/avg joey) players

except actually nothing is stopping you from doing content that rewards those higher lvl rewards, you just wont get them from doing trivial quests.

I really thought at the very least the ilvl would be an upgrade from Korthia but no… too much to ask for.

Sure some of the rares drop 246 stuff which is nice.

Um… it is.

Korthia starts at 200, ZM starts at 226.

I agree to a certain extent.

I don’t really feel anything on the Cypher of the First Ones is really worth working towards anymore. It’s a shame they removed flying from it to please the Cry Babies.

ZM stuff cant be upgraded further.

Fair point. Instead of upgrading base level items with resources that are time consuming to farm, you can… buy higher level items with resources that are time consuming to farm.

It seems that the ZM rewards are more focused on catching up alts for 9.2 than an alternative progression for ones main character

im not gonna touch it on my alts, if i wanna catch up i do some m+ and raiding. atleast that content is fun. if world quests was hard wipeable, gave me a rush when i did one, then i would maybe do it. but the content makes me fall asleep. cba
