If these were “just pixels” you wouldn’t make this thread and wouldn’t be fighting to prove your point. These sets got a value. And once they add recolors - value is gone. It won’t be taken from you, because you won’t loose anything, but it will taken from people who earned these sets.
CM sets haven’t lost a bit of their “prestige” because these legion class hall sets are just an cheap copy. Look at druid sets for example. But once they add actual recolors, “prestige” is gone. Thats what people trying to defend here

Their prestige disappeared when people bought them for real money and in game gold.

It’s the same as glad mounts, m+ mounts and so on. They are a reward for the people that where present and playing during that time even if bought with gold those people where active are in game.
the only “value” that they have is the fact that they are missing and since i’m a completions with 46k achiv points and almost 1k mounts i want them reintroduced.
also as i already communicated in a previous post, this should have never been an issue if the mounts weren’t removed in the first place.
i have brutosaurus, azeroth’s champ, really time consuming and expensive, prestigious rewards, i already have the achiv and the memories since i play the game for myself not for some imaginary competition with other people.
i don’t feel in any way shape or form when i see something that i don’t have, i’m just wondering why blizzard thought that was a good idea to remove that in the first place.
but i speak only for myself, i guess we are different and others think the other way around, hopefully this is not just an excuse to just gatekeep for the lolz and trolls.

They brought back a horde toy that a lot of people want and that you can’t get anymore. If you do it for one you do it for all, or you don’t do it.

No one really cares about how you got your mount of mog, only YOU
And you have the fuzzy warm feeling knowing you have done it! You earned it! You used it for years
As someone who farmed out 5 CM sets in Pandaria, I would appreciate this change.
I don’t mind getting more recolors on the characters that already have the original sets and it wouldn’t diminish the effort people put into back then, as those set colors would still be unobtainable.
I’m still sad I didn’t finish Brewery in time on my Warlock

I’ll throw my 2 cents in, as a player who has the WoD CM gold weapons but not the MOP set reward.
Additionally:
I farmed the original wildheart druid set, (that got removed from the game and a replica introduced instead)
I farmed the original high warlod cloth set at the pre-tbc patch, where they removed the rank requirement (that got removed from the game and a replica introduced instead)
With all this content, i’m still completely fine with them making a return.
But i also feel like that will all content in WoW, the ‘prestige’ is wearing it current content when the content is freshly released - atleast in the current state of WoW.
I loved flying my Raszegeth, Sarkrath and Fyrakk mounts in weeks 1-3 because i cleared heroic and got lucky with the mount drops.
But that fades as the season continues and more and more people get it, that’s the same for most sets, rewards and items.
I just find it a little weird that Mythic raid sets can be obtained and farmed after the expansion is over, and that’s fine for everyone, but as soon as elite pvp, classic pvp, CM gold or mage tower is mentioned, it’s a frenzy.
Either gatelock the high-tier aspects of the game (mythic & M+ / pvp / cm ‘transmogs’) across the board, or open them all up across the board imo.
Me seeing someone today with the same CM Gold WoD weapons has no ‘prestige’ effect, because that content was so much easier than the medium m+ keys we’re doing today.
I’m not going to lose any sleep regardless, i just find it weird the artificial line in the sand people make to some forms of content and their rewards.
If blizzard can remove my tier 0.5 items or my high warlord items (which were not time limited when they were rewarded) even though they were farmed and in my bags and bank at some point… why can they not open up rewards and put them behind new ‘requirements’ like they’ve done with the classic pvp sets?
E.G
old Elite / classic pvp items can be purchased with 50,000 honor / 5,000 conquest (per-item per rating bracket)
old Mythic raid item transmog can be obtained by acquiring tokens from +16 keys in M+ or Mythic bosses of the current season.
CM Gold armor set from getting 3k rating in a M+ season for that class.

Seems like this is the only excuse or defense you keep coming with and it makes no sense.
Some did pay for it, some did not. In the end it doesn’t even matter.
I’m sad that I didn’t bother getting it done on more characters but at the same time I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be the only one getting bummed and slightly irritated by seeing everyone and their mom running around with them.

To be fair there’s no reason as to why anything in an mmorpg should be “time-limited”, It’s just the accepted practice to keep the idiots p(l)aying.
The excuse is some stuff shoud stay rare, there is toons of transmorgs in this game, mogg something else.
