Although hop 3 and hop 6 has high data package loss but the loss didn’t continue down. So, they may be irrelevant.

I suspect more at hop 2 because it had high worst latency 130 which is not very normal for a local area network (your home network).

Seems you ran for less than two minutes. Would you retest while you are playing the game and get disconnection. Continue the test for at least 5 minutes. The data will be more reliable.

  1. Click Start , then launch the game you’re testing. If no connection issue is found in the first 5 minutes, restart the test.
  2. When a connection error occurs, play for at least 5 more minutes, then click Stop in WinMTR.

Also, check your router if these services have been enabled:

  • QoS (Quality of Service)
  • WMM (Wireless Multimedia)
  • UPnP (Universal Plug and Play)

If yes, try disabling them. (As each router is different, you may need to refer to the handbook of your router.)

this is approx 6 minutes, ,from D3 start up to about 1 minute after disconnection. I disabled both QoS and UPnP, and thanks for being helpful.

I don’t find any issue from the WinMTR logs.

There were few data packet loss at Level3 nodes, but they didn’t continue down, so we don’t need to worry about.

Don’t know if the problem is at your computer. Try the steps in this article if you haven’t done yet:

Eventually my options ran out - based on your feedback about the packet losses being minimal and the other troubleshooting returned no resolution. the only thing left to do was a complete re-set of the PC. Now it runs without connection loss. Maybe there was a conflicting program , or possibly the hitherto unknown “HP internet optimiser” ,that somehow installed during re-set, solved the issue.
