Out of touch - D4 is Dead on Announcement

Easy there, big guy. I meant no disrespect. I meant only that “busy” or “colorful” doesn’t necessarily translate into cartoony.

Besides, how does the screenshot you provided differ from this one :

Or this one?:

Have a look the the other screenshots provided on that website:

Indeed, I’d go so far as to say that while Diablo 3 may undeniably become more cluttered than Diablo 2 in terms of what happens on-screen, I’d most definitely say that Diablo 2 was far brighter and colorful than anything Diablo 3 has to offer, even in the regions that are supposed to be dark and brooding.

You may want to re-think your own attitude towards others on these forums, especially if you make statements without knowing all the information.

Yes I know this, I now bit understand your point.

Also u could bring the image with Necro max level on Baal… its the panic at the disco and I hated it also and that is clumsy.

But what its need to considered is, that this is 20 years ago with totally different engine, graphics old 20 years and they even more polish the effects in D3 and put more contrast to it, so it appears with that **** bright lasers… instead of making something darker.
I do not mean the locations. they are mostly nice and dark, but too polished and soft looking… High heavens of course should be crazy bright cause its heaven.
But when it comes to mobs… cmon… that arcane spells… its just too much. If you don´t see the difference. Its in every GR same.

So yes i know all the info.

Picture one is with brightness ++
Compare it with second one that is just brightness bit +
You can see the diffrence on health and skills bar
Shades are totally elsewhere nowadays, game should not be that bright in severs and hell.
And i could talk about the diffrence all day…
But not with you, cause you probably do not understand the issue that comes not only from my head, but many others.
So even you´ve tried to compare it… its bit pointless.

Maybe you remeber in D2 standing in the dark cave and sending a spells in total darkness… expecting to just hit something and that spells in travelling with bit light that you´re sending in the world…

Thats incomparable feel. Incomparable technology. Incomaprable age. But its still too bright when it comes to mobs and spells.

EDIT: I really stop with discussion now, its pointless.
With all respect ,)

EDIT2: Diablo 3 is like sleeping with lights on.
Difference between light and grey and dark.

You can obviously not see the difference between D2 and D3. D2 is positively laid back in tone compared to D3.

There are plenty of locations within Diablo 3 where I have to sit up and squint at the screen just to see where the bloody hell I’m going because its so dark.

Oh well, I tried.

Please do, because even when presented with evidence that does not support your narrative, you call it pointless in the vain hopes of deflecting back on those who have proven your stance to be incorrect.

The most important thing is that Blizz makes sure that this is a sequel to Diablo II, that they rename it Diablo III and completely reton “Diablo” 3. Open world is fine if they rework most of the game but this game is at least 3-4 years out. If they decide to just make this a “Diablo” 3 sequel then it’s gonna be like 1-2 years, but then they’re alienating most players.

well, some of us think D2 is overhyped. D3 has its issues, but in many areas, it is, imho, superior to D2. Nostalgia is a funny thing.

So far, D4 does not impress me.

Adam Jensen? That you?

“i never knew saying facts are moaning and whining”

What exactly are you basing your “facts” off of? Did you attend Blizzcon and try the demo? Did you talk to developers? “Facts” and “opinions” aren’t the same thing. Unless you’ve tested the game thoroughly your opinion doesn’t consist of “facts”.

People who judge game in such toxic grumble posts over 30 min pre-alpha gameplay with very release date still TBA should relocate to China to have their bs censored.

Above is an ultimate answer to all complains about Diablo IV before its actual release most probably in 2 YEARS or so lol.

Boyz this is a pre alpha stage it showed you what they had in mind its not set in stone evreything its subdued to change from one day to a other.insted of beeing toxic and bashing what you dont like use that meat inside the skull and get constructive . Explain what you whould like to see in the game and what you dont like to see with the attached reasons, and real reasons not ‘‘I dont like it’’ a argument why it whould/whould not work. or am i asking to much?

No one ever asked ? Then why people had the biggest cheer at Blizzcon after they saw the D4 gameplay? Guess those people +1(me) are just… no one.
It is too early to criticize anything they put on screen but just cheerup that they actually making a D4 and it is an improved version of D3 with the atmosphere of D2. I belive in 2020 Summer, we gonna see a much more clear vision and pathing which D4 going to follow and then, i can make positive and negative assessments. Right now, im just happy to see D4.
Btw, mounts going to be neccesary if they design areas that are 20 times larger than D3 areas/zones. Blizzard can sell cosmetics, it is up to you to buy them or not.

I am just reacting to this post, but could do it in more.

I actually find all this complaining (so not constructive critisism) exceptionally annoying. Nobody, not you, me and so on knows exactly what the game will look like/feel/do.

What we saw was an incredible early alpha version, even naming it an alpha is a stretch in my opinion.

Heck, it is so early that 92% of skills were not playable because they simply are not finished yet.

Going out of your skulls because of either gameplay, graphics, mood or itemization is ridiculous at this time. This game, and you could tell from Blizzcon, is still very young and being worked on a lot.

We are atm at a point that the devs like to know what features we would like to see, or not see. Feedback about current systems is not required yet because it is undergoing daily changes probably, they also made this clear. Same goes for the engine and gameplay.

In other words: tell what you would like to see and stop these kind of posts, what we have seen will not be the final game, not even close. Just have some patience and a little faith.

Unfortunately the ONLY reason we are here is because of the abysmal quality of all other games. For example I looked at the much touted PoE recently, what cr*p. What really competes today with Diablo 3?

There will be mounts because they have announced it, no offline play, no possibility of PAUSE, what with the MMO features, superb graphics (I hope), skills, talents and runes.

I really do not understand what the problem with mounts is. I am even a bit impressed. The attack straight from mount is quite smart, these are also unique skills. Also: the fact there is a mount does not mean you MUST use it.

No offline play, no, obviously not. I btw do not understand why offline play is such an issue. D4 being online only is not exactly unique with games in this day and age.

About the mmo elements: why not implement them? Take the best of all worlds and let players decide what they want to use, which if I understood correctly is also their core idea (you can play always solo and never use pvp or mmo elements if you do not want to.)

No problems, just because is mentioned it does not mean it’s seen as a problem.

There is Offline, that some people want, and there is also “Private Game” mode where you play solo and can pause/exit the game as you wish. Do not confuse the two.

From what I have read you cannot stop other people joining in your games and that would also mean you cannot pause your own games. Which is definitely not a Single Player game is all about.

I really hope that those are squashed for now due to an alpha state of the game. I (hopefully) think those are only somewhat global results which will have a lot of depth in/behind them.

Well, that might be true but sincerely speaking, I was not even hoping for a true offline mode from this generation of devs. I don’t know is it good or bad but it seems that they are departing from “single player”.

Agreed, I also want the stats back. The more customization we have the more interesting the game and your personal character will be.

Lmao you clearly don’t understand how this works. They wouldn’t have shown this if they weren’t happy with the direction. They’re not gonna announce a game and then cancel or completely rework it.

Just walk 2 hours instead.

Check your eyesight because I’ve never got so tired after playing DIII as playing DII, the latter not being a Star Wars lightsaber show most of the time.

Did you set gamma to max? I mean, that’s not how it looks on my monitor with half gamma and contrast.
Indeed, no Diablo was darker than the first one.

That’s Maleficent.
