Blurry image while moving

You probably just turned off DLSS or so

I have the same issue on PS4. As soon as I move my character, the game becomes an unplayable blurry mess! Genuinely feels like I took off my glasses. Also tried playing on different screens but its always the same.

Enabling fidelityFX super resolution to balanced, fixed the issue for me. I have an old nvidia card.

hi, sadly not i tried ā€œFSR Quality modeā€ on and off but it didnt change anything visible. obviously with ā€œstandardā€ settings it is off again thats true

Too many people talking about DLSS etc when the issue is present with this disabled. It is clear it’s a forced motion blur effect that is baked into the game with no option to disable. The only resolution is Blizzard adds an option to disable it

It’s TAA that’s causing this. Please add an option to disable Blizzard. I’d like to get my money’s worth now…

TAA is causing this for sure. When you disable TAA you can still see it, but much less then with DLSS/DLAA.

To lessen the blur effect with DLSS/DLAA you can install the newest dlss libary from

h**ps://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/

NOTICE: You need to overwrite the existing one every time you start Diablo4 or you add a write protection.

raising the sharpness a small amount helped a little

Hi there’s other similar topics on the forums and i suffer from this also on my laptop. No issue with my desktop with another screen. However i’ve tested to connect the desktop’s screen to the latptop and the issue is the same. It’s hard de read texts while moving.

Desktop GTX 1080TI + i7-7700K on W10
Laptop RTX 4060 + i7 13700H on W11

Hi again, i got news again. I read that TAA has less bad effect on blurryness when used with high fps, so i tried that and it actually works! Everything on low makes the image less blurry when moving (fps are doubled). Im sure this was also the effect why i got better image with ā€œstandardā€ settings. I uncapped the fps. So just do everything for more fps. Defnitly helps a lot. This still does not fix the actual problem but u get a much better image!
This means having a more powerful GPU actually helps to make the uglyness go mostly away. Aim for max FPS! Try to get FPS >120

Strong GPU: Vsync OFF!
Cap FPS as high as possible while the fps still stay stable

Same issue here. I got. New monitor today and holy the game looks awful while moving. I tried everything from turning hdr on and off, replacing the DLL file and even changing refresh rates and nothing fixed it. It’s so distracting it’s hard to even play. While standing still it’s fine for the most part but when I move its a mess.

@Blizzard please fix this. There is a 100% reproduction scenario by comparing blurr in motion between Diablo 4 and Witcher 3 with DLSS on/off.

In Witcher 3 with DLSS, stand next to a bush and/or watch a tree. Move mouse and stop it moving just a bit. It’s so crazy bad. Like going in and out from eye disease. Turn off DLSS and you can see the REAL NATIVE sharpness in motion.

Do the same in Diablo 4 (watch a pond of blood or better some armor parts in terrain), hop on horse and do slight movements into stand-still. Two different games go on and off. TLDR: Diablo 4 looks 10/10 only when standing still…

The problem is, in Witcher 3 it’s about DLSS, but in Diablo the issue exists always, even without it.

P.S. Stop replacing nvngx_dlss_3.1.13 with the older one in our game folders. It’s worse.

In my experience, this is not a DLSS/DLAA issue.

I have DLSS/DLAA/Frame Generation turned off and there is still ghosting on my character and loss of focus of background on movement.

This is not a monitor issue, the monitor is responsive and does not do this on other games.

Yes, I get the issue regardless of DLSS setting. I get it with graphics at low or ultra, 60 or 200 mhz and all possible monitor settings. Makes the game almost unplayable for me so have barely touched the new season.

Good to know I’m not crazy. I tried everything possible settings wise and couldn’t get the blur to go away. I can barely play the new season because the blur is so annoying.

In my opinion, the new nvngx_dlss_3.1.30 shows a better result than nvngx_dlss_3.1.13 and even better than the standard one built into the game ( nvngx_dlss_3.1.1.0).
Can anyone try it and share their observations?

Got same issues PC spec

I found the final fix guys. its the image sharpening setting, default its set to 6. seems its only sharpening while standing still, if u turn it to zero the burrines is gone. just use a sharpening setting in the nvidia driver to get a sharp image again

hope this will help u all

did not work for me (amd user); So anyone of you guys has found any kind of fix? -.-
