Anyone else had their account banned for no reason? Said I was using “hacks” which I wasn’t, they say they do extensive reviews and a thorough investigation before making their decision but clearly not because now I have to purchase all my games again and I’ve lost everything due to their mistake! Absolutely joke of a company.

At some point some headset software triggered a wave of false bans. Also other programs running on the background can trigger it too; for instance a mod installer for a completely different game.
May be due to lots of reports. Create a ticket and ask for manual review and clarification. Nothing this forum can help you with.
And just to be clear - that is unacceptable…
False bans are a very awful thing to happen to anyone so the situation must be resolved and something need to change in how they enforce these things…

Sometimes the people going through the reports are not coders so they might only have some idea what the third party software was doing to the game files.
With the amount of players across all games and the hack reports that come in, i think it’s safe to assume that the team dealing with this is too small and overworked, thus mistakes happen.
Given the quality of Overwatch 2, the matchmaker, the balancing… we can assume that they’re likely incompetent also.

Maybe all aspects of the team are under staffed? They usually are in big busibesses because it’ll look better on the boss’ bank account in the short run to under staff everything.

Just want to throw in my ban in here as well… got banned on 26th september for using “hacks” which is a lie. If Blizzard would care enough to even look closely they would find that their system is broken and falsely bans people for using legitimate software or that players are being wrongly reported for using cheats.

No cheaters who’ll accept they got cheated in the game. Never, noone will say that. I will be reeeeeeeally surprised if someone of them confirm this. But every time everyone keep telling “i am not cheater/toxic/ruiner” and doing so until get banned.
I can also confirm myself that these false bans are now happening, since I myself and my only, few years old account have now fallen victim to it (with no warning whatsoever and no reason given for it either in the e-mail afterwards), despite even not having the game installed anymore prior to it and despite only playing QP, arcade, and custom games (hide and seek) for the past few years (with all in-game chat turned off and with this one and only account of mine never getting any warnings or suspensions for anything prior to it).
Granted there are plenty of cheaters in this game now since it went f2p, I came across plenty in my QP and even arcade games ever since OW2 dropped (and I mean the kind where you really can’t deny that those players are cheating, not the “maybe” kind, and all brand new accounts as well), but denying that false bans are also happening is not good, since it can also happen to such deniers eventually down the line. I myself was once one of those people who believed Blizzard’s words that they carefully investigate accounts that get reported for cheating, but now I see that many people that were complaining about false bans in the past most likely indeed weren’t all just cheaters crying about a justified ban (heck, apparently people are even getting banned/suspended for abusive chat despite not even using said chat and having it disabled, and apparently many people got their accounts closed for “cheating” simply for using a certain headset, which Blizzard even acknowledged later on).
I think Blizzard’s reporting system “sensitivity” got turned up to eleven recently and now accounts are getting banned and silenced left and right after very few reports. And given how many people now abuse the reporting system, because they know that everything is now automated and that no actual employee at Blizzard will look into the said reports and see whether they were justified or not, they can now report anyone for anything for absolutely no reason, because they know that they can get away with it.
In short - I understand your reasoning, but maybe just take your faith in Blizzard’s reporting system with a grain of salt at least. I don’t think so many of us, long time players even with plenty to lose on our accounts (plenty of expensive paid skins and whatnot), suddenly got up one day, after having a world-wide telepathic meeting in our minds, and decided to start spreading “lies” about sudden mass false bans ever since Blizzard “tweaked” their reporting system.

Too true.
Given the amount of defects they allowed to go out into the Live release of this game, just shows their competence in their quality assurance.
I wouldn’t believe anything that this reporting system detects.

I was silenced for 2 weeks for saying “gg scrubs”, meanwhile people use the n word along with all kinds of legitimately inappropriate verbage on a daily basis. If people will report “gg scrubs”, there’s no way they aren’t reporting this stuff as well. Is Blizzard picking and choosing who they want to take action against? Should we get together and form a class action discrimination and favoritism case against blizzard? I do believe so.

ok is it just me or am i getting suspended for NO reason like i dont cheat i stopped talking and typing in chats i unplug my mic because i curse like a sailor i say inappropriate word when i die in game to like falling off the map or something dumb like that and it is NEVER directed towards anyone i have been called DISGUSTING names in all the chats and that person is never banned silenced suspended nothing happens to them this most recent suspension came with no email and when i messaged blizzard about the situation they give me some lame excuse that doesnt even make sense i often get called a cheater even though i dont cheat i simply play on an EXTREMELY high sensitivity (1950dpi 14.50 in game) (edpi: about 28,000) i went to play on another account i had and that one was suspended for no reason i wasnt given any form of reasoning in the email so i think it is safe to say that blizzard is banning people and RUINING there game because if they ban enough people theyre are eventually going to run out of active players because they are banning people for reasons they cant even give they already have a VERY small player base compared to other games the streaming platforms viewer count for overwatch have gone down EXTREMELY because no one has an account to stream the game on they are banning peoplle for no reason and if there is a reason they arent providing it and that is something that they need to be providing like i shouldnt have to worry about my account being banned for no reason like i said i barelt talk or type in the chats ive actually unplugged my mic too and turned off the text chats to see what would happen and sure enough im suspended or banned so thank you so much blizzard for 1. ruining the game for legit players 2. coming out with the most RIDICULOUS updates this game has ever received 3.ruining the community and player base this game used to be so fun BEFORE OW2 and now its just not fun to play and grind anymore VERY disappointed in this company and its mainly the the Development team because its just not worth playing anymore we dont have anymore OW1 nostalgia we dont have any of that and thats literally what the players want like 5 player REZ insane ability loved it doomfist 1 punch LOVED IT 6v6 LOVED IT now its just not worth playing thanks again for ruining this game for the players
If any of you believe you were banned/suspended by mistake, please submit a ticket and let a Game Master look into it for you.

That is the thing, alot of us have done that, but ended up with them just setting our tickets to resolved without even giving info on why they banned us in the first place, my account has not gotten a singular warning or suspension before and just straight up gets a perma ban from Overwatch, i played that game since the start it came out i have possibly around 2.5k hours or so on that game, it is really outrageouts how they can just straight up ban you, without even looking at your gameplay or something to determine if you are actually cheating

I was also banned some months ago on this account (which is my main since 2017).
No proof given, several appeals done without any real human reviews - in my case they even replied to my appeal in another language entirely (I have a screenshot saved about this), which proves my point that they don’t even read what you’re writing while appealing.
Me and many others already made a topic here with over 200 replies and reports, not a single GM bothered to answer us and actually a forum moderator just decided to close the thread and hide it from showing up on the list.
Hope this will have a better fate
