Sucks things like this are happening close to end of season rly stresses me out, esp when there was such a long maintanence wednesday morning, and now this.

Quite bizarre actually. You Need a Connection to the game Server before you even get it’s address, which means that at that point you are not affected. At the same time though the Servers you cant connect to have logs of failed Connection attempts or dropped Connections or else they couldnt Hand out penalties. It might even just be specific instances on certain Servers. Either way, Blizzard does have all the info they would need. Right now it would even be Pretty dumb to try and connect and get slapped with even more of a Penalty.

Please @OverwatchSupport atleast put a warning out. Every time I tab back in to read general chat I see people complaining that they got an error.

People in my vincinity already posted their details so I’ll spare you, had the same problem around 2:35 am so I believe I was one of the first ones.
In my case it happened very gradually, like a server being shut down instead of failing or disconnecting. First we had two leavers which might be coincidential, then I started running in place, after a while the screen went black but as many here report, chat was still running. That’s why I suspect shutdowns of services or whole servers.
Right when I was fighting to get back up to Gold after matches with leavers (why do we still lose SR for that again? 5v6 is lost 95% of the time) this happens and deranks me. I hope you come up with a fair way to address this issue.
I lost 50sr before game even get to character selection. Its not as much as some of you, but still very frustrating. It is obvious that its Blizzard problem and it affect so many people, that they should seriously refund every disconnection penalty in last hours… I don’t care if there will be some leaver among them unpunished. but Blizzard should have respect for our time. And so far it seem it might be thousands of SR lost among players. which took a lot of time to gain…

I have lost over 120 SR or so due to this, and it has happened twice. I do not find it acceptable, especially with a 30 minute ban period. I could not queue again to do the three tests, so they were run when doing a custom game with AI’s.
Is probably wiser to just load a backup from yesterday night at 2am (if there are any).
Despite people would lose few XP or some gained SR, which of course’d annoy them, on the other hand:
- most of the competitive games that took place after the 2am update were affected by errors of this kind;
- not many people play the game during nightime, so the people who “lost” SR that they gained after 2am would be close to none;
- people who, instead, lost SR during those few games that were actually played as they are intended to, would not of course feel anger toward this decision;
- it’d satisfy the ton of players that lost SR (unfairly, due to major forces) this way;
- it’d make Blizzard appear as if they cared fixing problems that they created (unintentionally, ofc).
The only players that’d suffer from this decision are the ones that lvld up and found some items they craved in lootboxes, but let’s be honest, since there isn’t even a seasonal event going on, it’d not be a great deal at all

I got a 10min Ban and a Noitfiaction for early leaving games. But I couldnt even join and lost 60 SR I think and also got a decrease to my xp gain. pls fix this
