Why is it so easy to lose rank, but not gain rank?

There is no myth, whether you win is literally dependant on the performance of your team and not just your own therefore your ranking depends heavily on your team and this is the reason why e…g Plat players are often stuck in Bronze.

Being able to function as part of that unit is an individual skill you can learn and improve.

Sure, but it doesn’t change the fact that winning the game thus gaining rank is still dependant on those other 5 ppl in your group. Unless you are constantly carrying your games, you aren’t getting anywhere near your actual rank, and I’ve seen this happen many times, especially when doing tank Q.

The funny thing is that playing a healer is the best way to get to your actual rank because it’s the best way to keep your incompetent team alive so you can win more games and rank up higher.
The worst is ofc. the tank where the two most important jobs are seeded by bad players so you are destined to lose the most thus you lose rank the most.

That’s why there are people who are bronze as tanks and in the same time plat as healers. It’s not that they are bad tanks, but it’s the issue with your rank being sunk by your team.

That is a myth though.

If you play enough games, you will always end up around your true rank.

If someone said the system rewarded grinding and punished casual players that dipped in and out, then I’d be more inclined to agree.

But as someone else said somewhere on this mess of a place… you get out what you put in.

Grind, play lots, work on improving you’ll get the rewards of climbing.

Play causally and/or infrequently and things will seem more scattered.

But as with most “issues” people have in games, you are in control of what you do.

dude wtf is this stupid discussion?? Are you 5 years old, that you don’t understand the simple concept of a better player being able to push the rest of his team further than a bad player??? c’mon pls, nobody is this *tarded - you gotta be trolling.

Lol. Come now, don’t be rude.

But you are right, the concept works in most environments. Football/soccer teams are always trying to sign that better player as it will improve the team. They are always learning and working on individual things to improve the team.

Barcelona weren’t good because Messi was a good team player… It was because he was an exceptional individual.

Improve!

I do agree with this. There’s only so much you can do as tank, which is why I play aggressive instead of being a sitting duck with my shield as nothing is dying.

Wow. You really must miss him to go digging through old posts to find one where we have a similar view point. The obsession lives on I guess.

Everyone knows if you want to climb, you have to keep improving. That’s part of “grinding” video games.

Bless you my friend. It must be lonely out there.

Just pointing out how obvious it is. Bless your little brain. It’s ok Nightwing. I mean you don’t have much else going on. :frowning:

Lol. Well, you have made one hell leap based on a word and your broken heart.

Adorable. But sadly a little too odd.

Also, is everything you do based on some degree of irony/hypocrisy… you claim I don’t have much going on, yet you have spent far too long looking for “evidence” to prove a point that is
A. Incorrect
B. Who actually give a monkeys about this Nightwing person. They clearly don’t care enough about you anymore.

Typing so much because you’re triggered. Not a good look. :frowning: Denial is a bad thing :frowning:

Lol. At least I haven’t had to go through my long lost lovers posts to find something that means nothing.

Well done on derailing another thread, all in your quest for love. Cute.

It takes 2 seconds, sorry your special self finds it longer lol. Anyone with a brain knows you’re Nightwing. Have a good night friend!

Lol. It’ll take an infinity, because I have no need nor desire to look.

You can’t say it a billion times. Still doesn’t make it true though does it.

You’ve just become blinded by love, loneliness, obsession and anger.

It’s alright. Keep playing wow. You’ll be OK.

Aww. Yay. We’re friends!!! (Sorry I can’t pretend to be stupid enough to find “friend” insulting)

I’m sorry that you’re incredibly stupid. :frowning: I hope you’re getting the help you need.

You and your buddy like to use mental health concerns as a crutch to insult people.

It is an odd play. But it is sweet that you care.

Just stating the truth little guy. :c Don’t take it to heart.

OK doctor. I’ll come to you next time I have any concerns.

To be fair the only “myth” here is the half-truth you keep repeating.
You fail to understand that what you keep citing only applies to the best players who are able to singlehandedly carry other 5 players by outplaying at least half of the enemy team.
Your average player is not capable of doing it so his win ratio will be heavily dependant on the performance of the rest of the team thus his rank is dependant on the performance of his team.
Saying that playing enough will eventually get you somewhere is -to be honest- not an argument, but wishful thinking which prays on the fact that someone eventually gonna gets lucky with team RNG.

The only game where your rank is dependant only on your performance is the single-player game :man_shrugging:

Anyone can carry any game at any time.

You might do it as a complete fluke. But that is the difference between the good and bad players.

The best players will put that level in consistently, and that’s why they are higher up.

The likes of you and I might only do it once every 5, 10, 20, whatever games. And that’s why we “struggle” to keep climbing.

Your ability to climb is based on your ability to maximise the variables that you control… so yeah, your team is there, but they won’t be the reason you don’t climb. Unless you’re only playing a small handful of games a season.

Your team can impact your ability to win a match. But if you play enough, it is all on you.
