it would be good to have a new mmo well done sci fi. read the first book of expanse but dunno i never had any hype so i gave up. I prefer w40k (but i admit is overwhelming - expecially horus heresy) and the foundation series and prelude by asimov
Warhammer online had best lore and game were 90% pvp 
haha pvp isnt for me. once during tbc times i was able to lose a duel in open world with an hunter with 10 levels less than me!
You would liked warhammers, it was not small scale or “arena” it was traditional mmo style pvp like always should been in wow too. Advance campaign sieging and defending keeps through the different zones and try get to opposite factions capital through some of the maps and then once fought in the capital start it all again, you could also que to battlegrounds while participating in the contested zones sieges and defenses and so on, anything you participate gives you exp and gear so you do nothing but just play the zones or battlegrounds. I remember sieges that had thousands of people fighting and I was healing 40 peoples warbands and it was epic
Ive seen thousands of people fighting on screen defending and sieging a keep and the game running without issues. Wow stutters with 10 people on screen in dornogal or some contested wq in world. Ive seen 500v500 people fight mexican standoff for hours with no performance issues in war line but wow cant handle epic bg without fps taking a dip to 15.

Yeah thats how mmo pvp has always been and should always been, the games are literally about the players its in the name of any multiplayer. Doesnt make much sense push the content into small scale 3v3 formats in mmos or in general make pvp only a minigame of sorts in an mmo that is suppose to be played of its entirety, it should be integrated in the game as whole and be as big part of it as anything else in it. Thats how every other mmo were atleast past 20 years. Wow is the only mmo I know that has pvp as minigame but also only mmo that did this weird 3v3 team death match type esport thingy of pvp so its easy to pinpoint imo what went wrong if other mmos didnt and they had 500x higher participation in their pvp on their mmos, I blame arena. Should not think small scale with mmo in mind anyway should think for masses and how do you get the highest amount of various people with different interests and skillsets to do something and play your game as thats the whole point in mmo lol

The more I play Diablo IV I realise that the only real interesting demon with any sort of plan is Mephisto. Diablo just wants to smash things and Baal just wants to be loved.
They should dump Diablo and just rename the next diablo style game Mephisto. He’s my kind of guy.
