What like being the only person in a Polish , or Czeck , or Russian or British guild , who doesnāt speak their language , nor is part of the friend circle ?
That guy ? Yea Iāve made lots of friends and had lots of fun with those moments , some of my fondest memories in wow even .
So I ask again how were you not treated fairly ?
If you felt your gender / color / whatever was target why reveal it ?
I get in the real world it is harder . But in a game ? You can be anyone , so complaining about unfair treatment is just begging for handicaps .
Thereās enough resources to be found on this. Itās exhausting to have to repeat that over and over because some random dude on the internet doesnāt believe it
With certain topics Slapface I envision you pouring some gasoline over the forums and standing there, a lighted match between your fingers, dawdling a bit and grinning in anticipation.
Either way, I, as a woman, am not entirely sure what to make of this being lumped on the āminority heapā either. But others already explained that position very eloquently.
I understand why physical sports are differentiated, because men and women are built differently.
I donāt see why they are differentiating here? Are they implying women are worse than men at video games? (They arenāt). Do they think they are being inclusive by excluding men? Did they think that inviting gender minorities was going to cause a generally positive reaction?
I try to be open minded about these things but it just feels like virtue signalling to me.
We can conclude that this trend only divides and segregates people. On the one hand, a part of the population is excluded from being able to participate as if they were plagued, and on the other hand, the part that is allowed to participate is treated as inferior or invalids that canāt compete agaisnt the excluded group, when in this game the only thing that matters is your personal skills and for this it doesnāt matter what gender you are.
Iām glad to see so many people rejecting this and realizing that this trend is getting us nowhere.
I think (but I could be wrong, itās just been my impression these last few years) that it serves as a protection from the āStraight, mostly White Manā.
The interesting thing about it to me is tho, that if anyone has tried to get me into Mythic raiding, itās been those men lol. Iāve not exactly experienced gatekeeping from them, quite the opposite. Unless you count a few silly guys over the years. And their opinions can be easily disregarded if one so wishes
I like it! Probably shouldnāt call this event āinclusiveā, because itās everything but, but I still like it. There should be more tournaments in WoW, whatever they are, because they can be fun. For women only. For kids/elderly only. For Danish people only. Even for people who like dogs vs people who like cats. You would too agree if you throw politics out.
