Yeah this is a terrible idea, massive hard pass there, people should be on an equal level no matter their gender, big big pass.
Good to know.
Life would be dull without anything to improve on.
Back on topic now, gentlemen!
Hard pass on this laughable event.
Most women i know are bi as in bipolar
I have no opinion on this, as it does not concern me. I have no issue with a women and gender minority tourny, thereâs already Womenâs Football, WNBA, almost all sports are divided, I donât see why we couldnât have it here. I probably wonât be watching, but I doubt I am the target demographic anyway.
Yep, should have been men, women, gnomes, elves, dwarves , some animals too.
Every time thereâs a snippet of news or controversy you make a thread, and when there is none of these two you create a random thread with a subject to gather as much comments/drama/commotion as possible.
You even said so in a thread the other day you want to see even more slapface threads.
Youâre either a firestarter, enjoy the attention or aim to be wowhead-lite with an edge.
Iâm not saying you deserve death-threats or stuff like that, but people get tired of it. You might get off on that, idk.
Somebody better send a bug report to God, Humanity needs an emergeny patch
Only if it comes with a forum and we can have a thread to complain about the emergency maintenance and how we demand compensation for time lost.
Behold the majesty of Supperman.
On topic: Couldnât care less, because itâs M+.
Like I said earlier, thatâs focusing on the negative.
I make countless positive threads, or normal suggestions to improve the game.
But you donât remember those.
It also doesnât help that people react more to threads deemed âcontroversialâ, which leads to you seeing those threads more since they remain on the front page, whereas the more lighthearted threads get burried rather quickly in comparison.
It doesnât?
I thought men were clearly better at gaming than women?!
/hides
Please donât hurt me.
So, anyone else just kinda find this whole topic in general silly.
Like, the idea of trying to force inclusivity by making things exclusive is kinda, well silly for lack of wanting to sound mean.
I see this happen alot, unfortunately mainly with the idea of inclusivity(which is a good idea) in mind, I donât know how to describe it but Iâve come up with a analogy, I call it ââRubberbandingââ, basically they saw something was exetremely messed up in one direction, so they then go in the opposite direction, unfortunately they do it just as extreme so in the end i reckon most people stand there questioning what extreme to go for, even though the most people know not to be a douche to anyone you casually meet in your day to day.
Just unfortunate but things will balance out eventually, just like a rubber band, itll go back and forth but eventually itâll balance itself out in the middle.
thoughts?
You had enough attention, buddy, time to disperse now.
People ainât got much to say no more.
outstanding move
xD
Only the one you gave me.
Remember: this thread was never about me. You made it about me. I was the only thing you talked about.
Iâm flattered, but I do wish we could have stayed on topic a bit more.
yes please do tell him i was born wrong and need to be fixed <3
sincerely the trans person the news warned yo about /s
I donât even know how to reply to you here, but I am glad you used âin my opinionâ, because I donât recognize this at all.
I do agree that women in general donât necessary seek the very top, but we are plenty competative personalities in normal raiding and mythic+.
I donât know how you have dodged so many of us, but I guess most of us donât point out our gender while playing, because itâs usually irrelevant. My partner thought I was a man until I talked on voice during a raid, and he wasnât the only one. I have met almost as many women in this game as men, and many of them, including myself, have been quite competative.
My most usual Bg group are mostly women. Some times iâm the only guy in the party. And we can win 30 bgs without losing a single one.
As long as you have two hands your eyesight intact, and put effort into it, nothing else matters.
(BTW, AFAIK, women constitute a majority in all countries and regions, mostly because they live longer, though that may be changing. I donât find âgender minoritiesâ well enough defined to comment. )
Careful with the concepts here!
Do you mean that women, on average, are not worse than men at video games, or do you mean that they donât have to be worse?
If you roped in a hundred men and a hundred women off the street at random for a tournament for some video game to win prizes, would you bet on men ranking higher overall, or women?
Chess is not exactly a video game, but similar factors apply, and we have a massive amount of data.
Men who compete at chess are better than women who compete at chess by about the same degree that men are taller than women - about a standard deviation.
By FIDE rules, every player is rated on the same system, with the same formula, and men and women play against each other all the time. Still, FIDE maintains separate Open and Womenâs tournaments and titles. Women can play in the Open sections, and can earn the general titles like grandmaster in exactly the same way as men, but most of them donât, and go for the Womenâs titles, which require a significantly lower rating and performance.
Certainly many women are better at chess than many men, in the same way that many women are taller than many men, but when you take a large sample, the difference is clear. Only one woman has ever been competitive at top level - maybe two, if you go back a century. The highest rated woman today is ranked #127. The womenâs world champion is ranked #307.
Obviously, strength. muscle mass, aerobic capacity, heart size, and so on donât maks a difference in chess any more than they do in video games, so we canât look to simple biological performance factors for an answer
While we donât have either the same numbers or the same level of data, it seems obvious to me that fewer women are competitive in WoW. How many women have the Famed Slayer title? have played in the MDI finals? Arena World Championship?
So, although I donât see that women need a separate protected tournament excluding men in principle, I donât mind that somebody is sponsoring one.
