The OP always does never brings any actual facts to the table.
So hes a self taught Paladin.
Fairly sure that some people not familiar with wow but watching the BFA cinematics might name his class as paladin but none would guess priest.
I understood nothing but took notes anyway!
If those are the only options i prefer rolling back support specs. Id hate suddenly having 6 man Dungeons and having to find extra people for that special role and on top of that i have 0 trust in Blizzard being able to balance those specs against each other. All i see is problems there so might as well say byebye to support.
Itās always the same mystake. They add power and power and new talent and new spell and the balance is still BAD.
And they class balance every patch, so every 6 month for another round of bad balance and you have to wait yearsā¦
They need fo fix raid, M+ and PvP before create 50 news useless system.
I personally dont see any problem with adding stuff that breaks the game.
The only condition to that is to do what they are doing in SoD. With weekly, sometimes bi-weekly balance tuning.
āfixingā raid and M+ is a never-ending game. It will never be ādoneā.
What is horrible is when blizzard all of a sudden decides to put the game āon pauseā for 3 months like they do now. We went from weekly balance tuning patches, to NADA.
And that sucks.
I mean for that he needs to show atleast judgement spell, but all he did in bfa trailer is iconic for priest mass ressurection. He also doesnāt showing any conviction and energy typical to paladin characters and always have doubts.
Well yeah because he wears plate and uses sword which is not typical for priest at all
Itās one button or passive procs. I am sure people can live with it.
These are not gonna go away next xpac either. It will be fine.
If you want to use the other one, use it. The difference wonāt be major. Pick what you like. That is the point. You should only care if you are pushing to top challenges of the game. At which point you care more about performance than looks.
the biggest issue with hero talents is that for the second time in a row the devs are treating talents as one of the selling features of a new expansion.
weāre reaching new levels of lazy
Well, at least they werenāt lazy in creating fancy names. People are so happy discussing a bunch of passives, and calling themselves DARK RANGER! DIABOLIST! MOUNTAIN THANE!
heās literally the priest icon in hearthstone, stop with the head-canon, heās a priest, like this is not up for debate. If he was not assigned a class we could argue but he is, and its priest plain and simple, I truly donāt care about your head-canon cause its wrong.
I REALLY, REALLY wish people like you would just quit instead of coming here and trying to drag everyone down into that joyless abyss youāre in. Pleaseā¦ Go play something that brings you joy.
Did he now? Does the āiconicā priest mass ress look anything like that? He fought more in melee then he did casting spellsā¦ with a sword, the weapon i see loads of priests weild, in full plate.
There is no denying that he is also a warrior, a warrior that weilds the light and that makes him a Paladin. Because thats all it takes to be a Paladin like Bloodknights, Sunwalkers, whatever the trolls name there is for their Paladin and the brainwashed / forced lightforged orcs from alternate Draenor.
The only reason hes not a Paladin is because thats what nearly all alliance lore heavy characters were, like Arthas, Uther, Tirion, Turalyon etc.
But there is allso a genuine hate for paladins on Blizzards side as 3 of the 4 named above are dead. The utter faliure of the Paladin charge when the Legion invaded etc. The demon infested Scarlet Crusade. They are written as utter faliure in every regard in this game.
He is a Paladin in everything but name, be it that they already have to many of them or just plain blizz doing what they do with palas.
My interpretation is more that he is a priest at heart, wants to be purely a priest, would love to embrace that lifeā¦ but instead he was born the son of a king, and a great warrior king at that. And he was supposed to pick up that mantle.
I think that is partly the inner conflict, the inner turmoil, of Anduin as a character. Heās by nature not a warrior. He was forced by circumstances to act like one tho.
Being a paladin atleast in the alliance comes with a bunch of training, its not something you just become; even Arthas had to be trained for it.
We have no record of Anduin ever receiving that trainer, he is for all intents and purposes, until he submits and completes that training, a priest who happens to wear plate armor (heās the high king ofcourse heās going to be covered in plate from head too toe do you really want to lose him to a blowdart?)
BFAās intro was him trying to step into his fathers footsteps, only to realize that he has his own path heās not only walked in, but gained power in, and then does the holy dome priest spell that was added in BFA IIRC
Iām pretty sure Blizzard commented on this some years ago when the BFA cinematic came out. They flat out stated that NPCās do not follow class restrictions or fantasies, and that Anduin was very much a priest, not a paladin.
Might be, my interpetation of what a paladin is very simple. Fighting in melee while weilding light magic makes him a paladin. Blizz has screwed enough with the lore to make the bar that low.
So does a warrior in general? One does not just take up a sword after a fathers death and fight in the front lines in a war.
Ill assume here that he has recieved priest training then?
He shouldnt be in the front lines? As you said hes a Kingā¦ he didnt learn from his father nor Voljin.
Captain America with Thorās Hammer.
Simple as that.
It mass ressurects people, how exactly it looks visually in the trailer doesnāt matter, cinematic productions oftenly change how thing looks to be more spectactular and dramatic
We rarely seen his warrior side and fencing skills, mostly he is leader and politician, it clearly shows multiple times that he doesnāt feel ācomfortablyā in full plate armor and fatherās sword for him is a reminder and burden
paladins acquire special training, the only paladins who were warrior-priests are those who were created in first war, after it orders created their own traditions, practices, techniques.
Dks were just necromancers in armor in first war too
Blood knights are literally knightly order and sunwalkers is new to tauren thing created in cataclysm
He got trained under Magniās tutelage iirc, because he was rather lacking in that department and he needed to be prepped for his role later on. If you look at the interactions between Varian and Anduin throughout the years (including in the books) you can see Varian was concerned about the disposition of his son, and Anduin felt like somewhat of a disappointment in that regard for a while.
That changed later, but the contrast between their characters basically underlines how Anduin was definitely not either a warrior or a paladin, despite the plate armour and the Light
