Am I the only healer that doesnât mind grievous? It always seems like itâs pretty much free unless the group screws up badly.
There are a few specs that have a very hard time dealing with it, most notably disc priests because their healing is in large part focused around shields - so they heal less and that makes the shields simply break from Grievous.
So then you add bursting, which forces every single player to take damage - even if they do it perfectly, so now theyâre all getting Grievous at the same time.
These two things synergize. Itâs gonna be hell.
With a team that is good about avoiding the avoidable, and using defensives in the unavoidable, itâs not so bad. But with a pug, or just a less organised group, someone accidentally eats a swirly, or a frontal, drops to 20% and has a heavy bleed on them, and the work for the healer goes up by a surprising amount.
And this. Bursting guarantees heavy grievous stacks on every player, every single pack. It burns healer mana, and even if they can keep up in terms of hps, they end up drinking a lot more. If tanks donât stay aware of their healerâs mana sitch and just keep pulling⌠wipes happen.
And everyone blames the healer.
I guess Iâm just too priest to understand bursting issues. (Unless they stand in gadgetzan and hyjal)
Mass dispel certainly helps! Having Revival on mistweaver is also useful, but only every 2 minutes.
If I have to heal something this week, Iâd love to have a shadowpriest in my party.
Mistweavers are particularly vulnerable because like disc priest and holy paladin, we need to hit things to do optimal hps. Itâs almost better to chain into the next pack with the party on 30% because we can generate healing more efficiently that way, but itâs super high risk and you need to coordinate with the tank as to when it is/isnât sensible. If your faeline stomp is on CD at pull, itâs going to go south fast.
Tbh, thereâs an argument for caster builds for paladin and monk this week, because they are less reliant on having an active enemy to generate heals⌠priest can spec holy, of course, and still have mass dispel.
Yay

Well, if Grievous+Bursting canât be dealt with it is literally the healerâs fault, assuming bursting is being dealt with correctly by DPS of course. Nobody else can.
But itâs BS! Poor healersâŚ
Those who pug as a healer know that bursting is a non-affix to most dps players. Theyâd literally rather die and fail the timer than stop AoEing and focus a few mobs down before the rest
If an affix can in theory be handled by extra healing, that is how the affix is handled. Healers are the last line of defence, and players are lazy and will try not to be the first line if they can avoid it. Organised groups will do much better (because the healer will be cussing them out on voice), but for pugs this is basically the law.
Which is another reason we should have positive affixes with buffs instead of negative ones with punishments. Everyone will be on board with killing 2 mobs within 5 seconds for a stacking 5% haste for 20 seconds buff, and no specific role loses out if it doesnât happen.
another week another neck in the vault
this time i decided to take it and socket it and wear it
perhaps this way the game stops giving me necklesses
believe !
Nuuuu⌠take the tokens. 12 tokens for a spark. Craft for 418
no
the game insists on giving me a neckless on a weekly basis
i shall oblige
The Trading Post
I call those half-a-spark weeks
Anyway what made me frown today was mythic Terros as a melee healer.
Iâm not even on the mythic raid team any more, but they were down a healer and I was there and Iâm not enough of a jerk to tell them to pug. God I hate that fight. Every micromovement is choreographed, and if you get it wrong you leave a puddle of crap or fail to clear, meanwhile everything is the same colour. All the floor spam is yellow-beige, meanwhile if you have a paladin in the raid⌠good luck knowing whatâs good and bad!
That boss was the final straw that broke my mythic raiding donkeyâs back. Something about it makes me feel utterly incompetent and useless. It doesnât help that MWâs raiding gameplay is sufficiently different to SL and BfA that it too is making me feel incompetent and useless. The dual whammy is harsh.
I love my guildies, but that boss literally drives me to the brink of tears through frustration at my own ineffectiveness.
another raid evening no raz kill sadge
longest time ever to get curve
I have tried Temple 22 a fair amount of times; today I got invited into a good group, was all fine till last boss.
Healer died and I couldnât see his body to CR him till is was too late (I died when I started resâing).
Kinda sad because it was timed and the healer was ok.
I am having to look up youtube and use a addon for near every quest in this chain. It takes the fun out of questing in that zone. Valdrakken.
yes its slightly amusing for 5 mins then its a total joke.
At least they reduced the res sickness to 60 secs to save time so I can get killed instead of getting lost in some dopey cave.
Hard agree on this, it is even part of the forum rules to search before posting. I do not blame the mods per sa but the standard is awful around here, there is no rythme or reason to how they ban people and others continue to post. It is like the mods left have given up.
Today I discovered you could champion MoP reps in the past but canât do that anymore.
Really? Why would that be changed⌠Iâm sure you could do that in BfA still.
