0 socialness in this game

I see most who said “never happen to me” being ones who dont participate in soloq rated modes, the effects of mentioned report system will affect everyone once they start playing 20-100 rated soloq modes per day and encounter about 100-300 random people through the day that will and do report anything that is said in the chat if they are just unhappy to lose a round for example or even when they win with you if they happent to lose the round before that against you, they will now in your team report you for anything you say in the chat just because.

Now that doesnt mean you get actioned for these but it does get annoying seeing the “language warnings” pop up almost weekly if you do speak in shuffle or blitz and call incs or try say something relevant to the game. People use the system incorrectly just cause they can, and increasing the multitude of meeting people through day in these soloq rated modes where its easy for ppl to get frustrated after long ques, it also increases the likeness of people behaving this way.

I would suggest all to be careful in blitz/shuffle with the use of chat and in general not have any macro or details announce anything in the chat which would be clickable for report. Its my advice. Now ofc if I would avoid rated soloq modes or generally only hang out with my friends or just play some other content than these then I would not be vulnerable to this system. There is a difference here that need to be taken into account with it.

It varies but mostly the use of chat is not adviced for anything but calling incs or saying what base one goes def etc. Speaking of anything else can easily become interpret as something else once they express frustration and so on, when people start typing instead playing

Good fix would be to delete the report functions and ignore button.

People do be much too sensitive for socializing nowadays, everytime I ask why someone’s dps is so low they get mad.
Bet it’s the same ppl who then will also complain how game is not social enough anymore.

People with a tin foiled hat are making the smoke though.

What do you expect for answer :joy:

It’s how socializing has always been in this game, weird how the standards have changed

Ok. I answer; “i am bad”.

Good conversation.

Socializing apparently always was about calling people out on their dps…

You get “language warnings” pop up weekly if you call target or incs in shuffle/blitz. I see you dont play such modes so please dont call people as “tin foiled hats” who do and are expressing what they are experiencing about if it is related of how reports are used in rated modes. :dracthyr_shrug:

Ok, it is a pvp thing now. I am out.

Mostly yes. First interaction I remember back in 2005 was someone very aggressively telling me that I am bad for using a staff on my shaman.

And that’s the general tone that’s been in the game as long as i can remember.

I feel sorry for you when that is the general socializing in the game.
(doesnt sound like socializing at all to me)

No, a good fix would be to remove all bonuses and boons to antisocial playing and give them to groups that have shown they are not just ephemeral. And because I know Tah will disagree with this, I want to emphasize the “antisocial” part. Solo playing should not be impacted as much.

  • Remove Luck of the Draw buff in Normal and Heroic dungeons.

  • Implement “Together we loot strong” buff which increases all exp, reputation gains, gold rewards, honor, conquest, crests, timewalking badges and generally every single currency rewards when in a group with an established friend.
    – Established friend is someone who has been on one’s friend list for over 90 days
    – Bonus would be increasing based on numbers of established friends in the group/raid. 0 friends = 0% bonus. 1 established friend = 1% bonus. 2 friends = 3% bonus. 3 friends = 6% bonus. 4+ friends = 10% bonus.

  • Implement “Together we loot strong - Guild version” buff which increases all exp, reputation gains, gold rewards, honor, conquest, crests, timewalking badges and generally every single currency rewards when in a group with a guild member who are exalted in their reputation with the Guild. Requires for you to also be exalted with the Guild. Same bonuses as above and stack with them for a possible bonus of up to 20%.

  • If Call-To-Arms exists for a role in any queue, then queueing up with friends/guildies automatically rewards it to everyone in the group.

Well I guess the game never was social then

Yeah the misuse mostly only affects rated blitz/shuffle I would imagine, I imagine its the long ques and then people being frustrated in badly designed modes which rotate them around in 6 round system like shuffle example. Someone just lost a round against you and then you say something in chat for strat or calling target once they are now rotated to your team, and they now report you for language cause they can. Then it gets annoying see the “warning” pop up later :dracthyr_a1:

Well, its not all bad. I were playing blitz yday with a friend and we were holding a base and as we can see enemy team speak for some odd reason in blitz, we could witness enemy hpala circle around our base pole and say in chat this same sentence of encouraging his team to try and cap the base. So I typed him also in /say to say that he is speaking to the enemy

the game is just a habitual RPG collector

What’s wrong with my haircut?! :sob:
Don’t you go saying things like that to a pandagirl.

I’m just noticing everybody else being silent as the grave.

That I do notice as well

I think the social aspect that WoW has lost that hits the hardest, is the game-driven part of it.

For example, years back you’d sometimes see Horde players yell FOR THE HORDE! and then other players would chime in, because they too were for the Horde.
And on the Alliance side it was almost a cause for concern that they didn’t have a similar powerful rallying cry.

You don’t see that anymore. You don’t see players use the lingo of the game anymore, because they’re not invested in the Warcraft part of it. Everyone is just going through the motions and grinding their keys and farming their mounts and so on.

And that’s a huge loss for the game, that you don’t have players embracing the zug zug and the For Gnomeragan!

Because that’s the glue that’s supposed to tie players together within the frame of context of being Warcraft fans and vibing with it.

You see that in other games. In Fortnite you’ll see someone do the Fortnite dance and other players will join in, because it’s Fortnite and they’re all Fortnite players and within that sphere of community the signature dance is a way of socializing and vibing with other Fortnite fans. Even to the point where they do it outside the game, just like WoW players would yell FOR THE HORDE! randomly at Blizzcon.

Helldivers II has it with the whole “I’m doing my part” fight for freedom that ties into the game’s advertisement and PR – effectively giving it a boost. And it’s an easy way for players to vibe with each other, because the game gives them a character role and lines they can say, and it’s easy for other players to join in on the fun.

Deep Rock Galactic has the whole “ROCK AND STONE” going for it.

And WoW used to have something, and now it doesn’t, and Blizzard aren’t really cultivating anything, which is pretty absurd for a fantasy MMORPG.
It’s kind of Blizzard’s job to make players vibe with the game and thereby vibe with each other through it.
But they’re not, and we’re not.
