0 socialness in this game

Yeah, I remember back in Vanilla WoW there was a rogue from the enemy faction who would sometimes log over to my faction to talk about the latest 1v1 encounters we had. He didn’t flame me or something like that though, he congratulated me when I managed to beat him - he was super friendly!

Back then, because we didn’t have time to play alts, and because we didn’t have realm sharding, everyone recognized people’s names. I think that alone made socializing more relevant.

If WoW would let us play 1 character who can play all classes, like in FF14, I think that would help.

Theres probably still stories to be found of the “menethil harbours terror” that were always there :joy:

You can’t talk in this game anymore. Its a product not a game. You talk and state your opinion and you will get banned. Open world is over. We are going towards AI generated reality and people do not even notice when it happends. There are no servers. Only AI phasing.

And now your local police force are watching you…

The vast majority, if not absolutely every case without a single exception, of people who got banned for their opinion didn’t get banned for their opinion but for the way of expressing it.

Unless of course the opinion is on matters not related to the game and its systems.

There is a chance Blizz will leverage AI to try and boost engagement within WoW.

Truth be told, WoW is not seeing many, if any, new and younger players.
It’s a bottomless tomb, why not spend an eternity in it with an AI tailored to your exact persona.

Just imagine AD and Goldshire with AI personas

Join the Newcomer Chat and see how many people type “wave”. Even if 50% of them are trolls, you see it on a daily basis. Now consider that most people will actually get it right, or will not type it in Newcomer Chat.

I don’t doubt that at any point in time there are dozens of people trying the game out.

I miss the days where you level so slow, you could actually ask your guild for help with a quest.

Or get a compliment like “oh wow, you are actually using that ability! Thanks, you make me healing more fun!”

Now, if you say as much as one syllable you get reported and banned…

What a load of rubbish.

I got reported for telling a party in a mythic+ what the actual boss tactics were…

In one syllable? Were you banned? So many questions.

Seems you all need RP servers! We’re social.

Autistic analysis:

The game gets bigger over time, more bloat, more user friendly streamlined time saving features appear… because else nobody would have time to do anything.
First summoning stones instead of walking to a dungeon.
Then more flightpaths and LFD teleporting.

90% of humans are on the lower end, by any measure, and prefer to take the path of least resistance. “There’s a button that saves me time and trouble? Of course I’m gonna use it!”

This creature… feature of habit consumed most players.
No more benefit in talking to others, creating bonds since there’s barely any reward to such a time investment and risk.

It used to mean everything to know players in classic, who plays what, how well, how familiar are they with what parts of the content etc., so you can ask them to team up and clear stuff with a mutual benefit. It was almost always worth your time talking to others back then.

Now it’s almost always a waste of time because everyone is just a npc.
We don’t need others anymore, every player is so easily interchangable.
Top that off with cross realm phasing. Wanna do a 500 man raid but 100 players are 10 seconds late? Click click boom done, replaced, let’s go.
Just meat in the machine.

A super social classic experience CAN be done, even with retail.
It’s hardly profitable for blizzard so they won’t do it.
But it can be done. Just remove all the “skip features” like LFD tools, cross realms, summoning stones, forcing players back to a classic era vibe with a key factor being social, as without that clearing content won’t be possible.

Niche audience, clearly a lot of people want that,
but not profitable enough to be implemented sadly.

Thank god not banned, but I hear plenty of stories where people get banned over nothing through the automated system.

Did they confirm this when you appealed or you just saying that and never bothered ? because things like this will just contineu, if no one defends them self and appeal.

If there is reason to suspect something from such group, you can take screen and show it on your appeal later if it helps. If you really only wrote strat, but Idk how they work. Maybe they can also see logs if some gm looks it.

I have been testing this «u get banned for typing anything at all» with saying hello and thanks for the run while doing leveling dungeons. Still havent been banned :woman_shrugging:t3:
