100% XP Boost is an absolute garbage idea

Why classic wow currently falls into the retail trend, is adapted accordingly, slowly but noticeably?

I and many others enjoy the slow pace leveling. Raiding is absolute boring and not the main focus for many, despite SoM title. Where do I go? Private S. again?

Don’t get it. If you want “go go go” mentality, play retail. Do your 10 Quest and hit 60.

Because it’s SoM and you have a very limited amount of time to play it.
You’re already 3-4 months in.
You have 8-9 months left.
If you want slow leveling, there’s classic era for that.

At the end of the day, nobody is going to catch up with no xp bonus with how short SoM is.

SoM was a bad idea. 100% is a good one in that context, unless you really want servers to die

It’s a fix to a problem that blizzard caused from the short timeframe and vague details as to what comes after for our characters

Stop being a crybaby. Not everybody is no-life like you and can play 24/7, other people have families, jobs and other responsibilities, so this is great change for them, because they have limited time to play.
Try to use brain next time

And the downwards spiral to retail-ism begins.

+100% xp in SoM is a great idea and I’d wager you’re the minority for disliking it.

If we wanted almost insta 60 we would play retail.

Sick of all these retail tourists that want qol improvement bs, stick to shadowlands please or just gtfo to tbc and wotlk but dont touch vanilla.

You retail tourists will never get satisfied, once wotlk will be out you’ll fantasize a possible cataclysm, then mop etc…

Like the female Nelf don’t remember his name proposed, release classic fresh with a 2 years lifespan that’s all we want. Personnally I’m fine with SoM but tbh the one year kinda sucks.

Fresh classic or riot.

SoM is a meme. I agree that 100% quest exp boost is a terrible idea that just sort of spits on the original game. The OG developers made the quests give the exp they give for a reason. They wanted you to travel between zones while questing or to grind mobs/dungeons as that is always an option. But I guess they (current devs) feel that the only way to get new players into the game at this point is to massively boost the levelling speed. Which I’m not sure I agree with because I feel like the levelling is the game for a lot of players and far from everyone is interested in raiding or PvP in Classic WoW.

That whole 1 year thing is just annoying. If it was 2 years then no buff would have been fine, but if you want new players no one is going to jump in at just 40% when the game only lasts 8 more months.

I think you don’t understand that som is a temporary seasonal server with a lifespan of 1 year. People don’t come to som to enjoy the slow leveling experience that will take 10%-20% of the servers’ lifespan.

Classic era is up and is not limited to a year. You ‘…’ who enjoy leveling for the 29489th time can level there as slow as you want.

Has nothing to do with retail, and it’s getting old now. Come up with some actual relevant arguments.

I’m not personally playing SoM, but it’s understandable why there’s an xp boost.
Nobody is going to start now and be able to catch up with the original XP.
The original xp was fine, if you still had the same amount of time as regular classic.

You’re 3-4 months in and already on BWL.
At least with regular classic, you had like 5-6 months of MC/Onyxia before even touching BWL.

If I could give you multiple dislikes I would.
As soon as I got to Outland, XP gain slows down immensely.

Just because you like to quest doesn’t mean everyone else MUST or SHOULD love to do the same as you.

If you love questing so much, just do a 1-70 and create a new character to repeat the process. You don’t like to lvl70 gear grind then don’t do it…
You got a lvl 70 warrior? Well then create a new Warrior and do a 1-70. You can infinitely extend the XP grind if you love it so much this way. Become a Warrior forever on an XP adventure.

Thats why when you are late to the party, having to level all the way from 1-60 or 1-70 is just tedious. On tbc you would need to buy a boost or have friends helping you all day. It becomes so tedious for new players that they give up half way through so its good som got an exp buff now.

Leveling on a dead server is awful. Noone to group with and no enemy faction to compete with.

As someone who has limited time to play and is not 60 yet, I don’t understand why they do not create the possibility to make a choice regarding the amount of bonus exp you receive. For me 40% is enough.

Maybe they should just implement level 60 templates for the next Season of Misery so retail andies can get into the end-game right away since that’s the only thing that matters to them apparently.

It’s just 100% exp TO QUESTS. Which really isn’t that much extra levelling speed. Perhaps try not spreading flat out lies next time.

I like this change because I would actually skip loads of quests because their exp reward was pointlessly low and it was just faster, easier and more profitable gold wise to just grind mobs instead. It’s really not going to make that much difference. It was the same deal with people complaining about the 40% buff initially which was honestly a laughable bonus to overall exp. Most people can’t even notice the 40% extra quest exp. 40% to quests is such a pathetic increase, it may as well not even be there at all.

100% to just quests is fine, it’s really not that much when it comes to overall exp. Especially so late into SOM.

The people that complain are usually the people who goes to low level zones as their lvl60 and gank lowbies then come on forum and talk how good the world PVP is.
