To be fair in a proper MMORPG (or even SP RPG) your second playthrough is about doing things differently. Siding with a different faction, making different choices, experiencing challenges through a different class with unique, interesting abilities.
Covenants, storytelling, class homogenization…blizz failed at all of them.

I think I first gained interest in seeing the other side of the story in Pandaria. The Alliance had different cut scenes and story involving Anduin. There are some places we get different quests but very few when levelling up generally speaking.
Personally I’m all in for the story, side quests, exploration everything on my main then maybe an alt the main storyline after that I’m looking for alternative routes. Eventually it’s more bearable to just dungeon spam for me 
The lack of forced to farm factor has meant alts can actually play and catch up more easily though. Which is a huge bonus. There is nothing worse than reaching end game and finding you are utterly ineffective because you now need to grind seven billion AP, unlock certain followers, power them up etc. Now it’s just go, gear, enjoy.

in pvp and m+ one never runs out of content cause there is no end but the length of season

Why is it whenever people talk about there being nothing to do in the game they conveniently ignore the fact that there are tons of alts they could be working on (in the most alt friendly expansion we’ve ever had) and 19 years worth of content to run through for collections. Go and run old raids and dungeons for mounts and transmog, do achievements, finish levelling those 25 alts or make new characters and level in zones you haven’t visited for years, experiment with all of the spec and class trees to find new favourite builds.
Have you got every single class at level 70? Have you got all of the 1% and 0.3% item, transmog and mount drops in the game? Have you got all of the achievements and completed every set on collections tab for every class? Have you got all of the class mounts and completed all class order halls for the sets and titles in Legion? Have you got exalted with every faction in the game for their exclusive tabards, armour sets and mounts? Got all of the current raid tier sets and PvP sets and mounts? Got all drakes and all customizations for them? Invested in all profs and crafted everything? Got an infinite amount of gold and purchased everything that shows up on the BMAH? Got every single mount in the game?
Yeah, I didn’t think so. There’s more to an MMO than just doing the latest activity in the latest zone on 1 character.
There are plenty of things to do in this game. You just can’t be bothered to do them. This isn’t personally directed toward OP, just everyone that repeats this myth of there being nothing to do in WoW.
Or just more world quests, 6 out of 7 days, i’m done with the daily ration of ED world content in 5 minutes (10 if the 2 WQs per day are far apart), why doesn’t Blizz just revert the WQ-nerf already? It’s fun, relaxing content to go around killing some baddies or whatever, but it’s kind of pointless if there’s no world quest or anything.

I sympathise with anyone who enjoys just playing one character, and doesn’t enjoy raiding or M+. Whether collecting the chinbeards (thanks for the giggle Jito) is up to your taste is rather personal no doubt, I quite enjoy the dragon customisations but I can imagine it feels pointless if you’re not into ‘dress up dragon’.
Personally I’m quite busy in between several characters, getting gear for catalysing later, leveling more alts for fun, and collecting stuff. It’s a great expansion for alts, it reminds me of WoD in some ways where the content itself was rather barebones and it really depended on whether the content that was there was to your liking.
I’m really fed up with events that require a lot of people, I do know that.

Some of us used to consume tokens instead of using cash. Now blizzard has pulled in the reigns on this as of 21 November 2023. Still not sure how it affects us but I guess in a few months we will see. As is My client says I have 2 months game time but text says my game time expires 21 February (that’s 3 months to me) so I guess 21 Jan if I don’t use my credit card I cant consume that one month game time.
Anyway I am digressing. I just think people are used to so much more from dev’s per expansion and wrestling with the value of the cost of expansion vs the amount of content they receiving. Lets face it DF has been seriously lacking in anything meaningful and most patches have died in less than a month. The only regulars are the m+, pvp, and raid folks. This content is not for everyone.
If you still having fun then good for you but I think there are tons who are not. Nothing wrong with them or their opinions.

Let me TLDR their schedule real fast: 1 raid and 8 “new” dungeons every 6 months.
There you go. People think .5 and .7 patches are content are on some heavy zaza.
Until next expac you wont have any new meaningful content, thats almost a year, think about it.
And they splitted a big expac into 3 major patches to milk people 3x$90. If we have this low amount of content already, TWW will have a hard time for sure.

Just join the chorus. Do not pre purchase until you see what TWW really has to offer. If it is anything like DF then I suspect another dud expansion.

How is that different from the past? It was always Raiding, PvP and later M+
I still recall back in Cataclysm, Totalbiscuit pointing out that “we are paying by the month” when the gap between the first tier of raids and the second was quite big.
It is the established status quo since at least TBC.
I believe that the Delves that will be introduced in the next expansion are trying to fix that to an extent.

T and L will be focused on world pvp and clans

and i played Lineage 2. the game is similiar
wow is kinda boring in current state, too bad those greedy pigs dont let me buy just 1 month so i cant suffer 1 month of boredom
As a L2 veteran you just explained why this game will fail as well.
Same goes for Ashes of Creation.
Do you really think most of people here will want to even touch Throne and Liberty or Ashes of Creation once they learn that wPvP is basically forced on them? 
I had hopes about Ashes of Creation but as soon as I learned you lose XP if you die and that wPvP is at the center of the content I realized it’s going to be a dud.
Will those MMOs have their own cult following? Sure… Will they dethrone WoW? Absolutely not… People who enjoy WoW will never leave it for a game that resembles L2. Period.
P.S.: I play with Warmode On 100% of the time and I am satisfied with wPVP at the moment. Of course they can do more with it and I hope we see something new and interesting in TWW as well. Cobalt Assembly and most original DF zones have been a blast for wPVP so far. The ED one could use some work.

The fact he thinks somehow this half-baked Korean hot pile of garbage will be any different is amusing to say the least.
The only MMO that threatens WoW in a any form is the Riot MMO and not because of the non-existent gameplay, but because it already has a huge following.
Its very simple. Theres a lot of them in this thread all repeating the same old drivel they regurgitate every patch
They crash through the content they are INTERESTED in, and when they’ve smashed through that quick as possible they then complain they have nothing to do. When you ask them just how much they’ve actually done in the game your likely reply is “I only do (insert end content here)”
Why it’s almost as if they actually think the game revolves around their chosen content.
And dont pay any attention to people like Turnon etc, the type of fella who comes crying to you with a burnt hand after you told him “now be careful, fire is hot”, complains about wow being boring yet still playing.

Rio mmo can be more popular because of LoL is very popular
but in terms of beating wow not gonna happend this game is rooted in people lifes since 2004 it’s like brand people like for example jack daniels someone loooove that thing too much
I really don’t get this mindset of people who justify the thought of ‘done everything? Well do it again on an alt!’ How boring is that?
Wow has no replay value, there is no reason to do alts other than to farm more gold or tmogs. The focus now is to spam M+ over and over until the new season comes and do it again. M+ has ruined the game which Blizzard has become so lazy with that they added old dungeons and call it new content.
