I know i know, git gud.
I am trying, but SS can be so random sometimes that even with a decentish skill level you can be hardstuck depending on your spec and who you are lobbied with. This is why i think the token (which is all im doing rated for, outside of conquest) should be attainable by WINS, not by rating. Could have been something stupid like 100 SS round wins. Would make more sense and keep it in line with PvE, because I swear to god I could have had that token a couple weeks ago if I was a raider, if I am understanding right.
But working on my twos either way, only problem is LFG and finding people to consistently play with, especially given the fact you may actually have a life and can’t just stick to certain arrangements. WHICH IS WHY SS IS THERE, BUT IT IS MORONIC"!!!
It’s only an issue due to the MMR problems this entire season is plagued by, otherwise any1 would be able to get them with a little bit of reasonable effort.
But yes, it’s an issue. The fix however should not be to make it attainable by other means, the fix should be to adress this g*dforsaken MMR and stop artificially speed up the death of this game.
Yeah idk, if the ONLY thing you’re doing rated for is the token as you said, then there are easier routes you should consider to it. You could do a couple easy keys over 2 weeks, get your token and exchange it for a pvp reward, if you so wish. Asking to make everything readily available to anyone willing to put in the raw hours but NOT the effort to improve is a bit silly. Making any goal in the game achievable by brute force, is a bit silly.
I did say that, and did say outside of conquest. Lets not pretend that there are not MANY players that only play for conquest to buy some pieces. Lets not do that.
Okay? Gear is inherently timegated, why shouldn’t this prestigious shiny piece of equipment that you get with the token be aswell? In the first case gear is gated by a conquest point cap and in the latter by seasonal mmr inflation. I still don’t understand what the issue is
Yeah that’s an unfortunate truth and it circles back to 2 things, first blizzard randomly capping the mmr on top of slowing down inflation as Deepdamp said earlier, and secondly the fact that rerolling has been made easier than ever, resulting in huge waves of fotm with every tuning patch that rolls around. All in all pretty horrible.
But if you really are a primarily pvp player try to find the fun in it instead of permanently chasing rewards, and the rewards will follow. If you were to do keys you’d read up on the tactics, use that time to try and find guides or a streamer that plays your class online and learn from those, then apply it with patience. Best of luck!
Anyway, almost 1600 in twos. Far better than SS. Also nice to play with a chill person that is about my skill level, so we have fun, no whinning no egos, just fun and we laugh at some losses.
If you like Saedalaerex, you can give me some tips on double dps as it seems weird we lose to that instead of healer/dps.
Yeah because locking bad luck protection behind rating is a good way to have a fair and balanced game. Not that it matters as I have 4 chars still sitting on the token with no second tier set so even the token wont safe one, but still it should be easier to get for everyone since having 2set or not 2set is a power difference that creates up hill battles on even skill level
I don’t think pve tier sets which completely screw up class balance (for some classes) should be attainable in PvP at all. And power spikes should not be gate kept by rating, the rewards should be purely cosmetic.
Tbh I didn’t mind the ancient times with 2.2k having upgraded gear, but everyone and their grandmother has been whining about keeping pvp fair and minimising power imbalance in gear. Gatekeeping gear behind rating is a double standard.
Just make it cosmetic then you can still show off your superiority without gatekeeping badly designed set bonus power spikes for some classes or useless set bonuses for others
It’s bad design in pretty much every way possible (except maybe making you feel better than someone else?)
Currently 1.6+ is roughly 22-25 % of all players that have touched arena this season so far - so top 75-78 percentile, just keep that in mind. Usually towards the end of the season, 1.5 is supposed to be where roughly half the players get to; right now, that’s ~1320-1350. To put it into perspective, it’s the most obvious in 2s - I’m 2.07 cr and we’re top 99.6 percentile. There are 2 people at 2.4 or higher, they’re top 99.995 percentile.
Rating is percentage based. There will always be a portion of the population that can’t get 1600 so “easiness” is relative.
It also depends heavily on the amount of time you can dedicate to arena, the class you play (FOTM rerollers benefit) and the partners you have access to unless you are talking about SS in which case time to dedicate to waiting in queue is a factor.
