Apparently it wasn’t gear.
that hes just almost full rivalII indicates that he hasnt played that much this week. i assume he got in few games and just upgraded with the honor he had. give the kid some time like patch 9.2 wont be here tomorrow.
you would think that given his history of pathological tryharding, he would take advantage of the easier games and rating for the first week due to the resubbers and people trying out new things.
Or maybe that would make it too easy. I do respect someone wanting a challenge.

you are not even doing that much dps. I see Nightfae DHs doing 5k dps for 2 mins straight all the time on top of having healreduce and burst

let me point out few things 
I used to que 2s sometimes with random lfg people (cause 2s are memebracket anyways), and that night i applied to anooraz group via lfg (we don’t know each others). We played few games like 15-20 around 2.1-2.2 mmr, and games went ok.
I’m sure that anooraz choice of covenant is not optimal, or talents always neither. He was still doing ok job, and pushing 2.1 with any reasonable exp (2k) healer is for sure possible.
Its kinda sad, that queing with lfg people is nowadays called boosting. The so called “Boosting problem” is just bad excuse of being hardstuck/not improving during season at all.
