2x XP rates on Fresh ERA?

Rested exp is purely affecting KILL EXP. 2x rates will affect BOTH questing and kill xp.

It’s not the same. Vast majority of players level up by questing.

I’ll add this:

Regardless of if 2x rates would be optional or forced on everyone, it would not affect the final decision whether I would play the game.

But I’m merely trying to dance between the thin lines, whether Anniversary Classic servers are about preserving the original, or modernizing and tweaking the original as if one was modding games to make it “just right”.

I do not think there’s a shame in wanting to preserve an old relic, but Classic WoW can be extremely fun even with changes. It’s just that we’re getting only 1 set of fresh Classic, for 2 different audiences who currently are at war about who gets their desired version online.

And given Blizzard’s history, I do not trust they’ll leave this “fresh” with just some quality of life changes.

No reason for catchup mechanics on a realm, running for at least 15 month until TBC.
They probably do that with TBC Pre Patch when unlocking Paladin for Horde and Shaman for Alliance, but it’s pure speculation.

i would hate this. this is the definition of #somechanges going too far and ruining the classic experience

Go to a private server then.

You have aaaaaaaall the time in the world - no expansions coming up, no patched (except for SOD spilloover), no end-of-season … so “very very slow” is no problem on Era.

And welcome to Era btw.

This is not ERA, it is an anniversary server where they will most probably implement classic +. I already have multiple 60s on ERA

Anniversary edition. Era is era

The anniversary Edition is not Era, but Classic Classic Fresh as Blizzard called it themselves.
It evolves into TBC (which I hope stays as TBC Era …, probably not happening though)

I just wonder why OP write “This is not Era” when he clearly wrote “Era” in the topic

You don’t wonder anything, you are only seeing to obfuscate the issue with your inane commentary.

You want to play Era as per topic, but then it is suddenly not Era anymore because you want retail lazyness included.

Maybe SOD is the game for you? Era surely is not.

Of course I do not agree with the OP. I just have to respond here that, the moment Mara was released, people stopped leveling normally. They swiped and have a mage boost them there…

Those same people would still do that regardless of the experience rate.

i agree with the people saying #somechanges

era is era

classic 20th ani is just that

hence why i dont understand the 3 people making multiple posts about duel spec.

if you dont like it group up and go play together on era

you dont have to play the 20th ani version you know

SoD is also part of ERA, imo all Classic iterations are part of a larger umbrella which is best referred to as ERA. I referred to this anniversary server in the subject line as “fresh ERA” because it is the only fresh Classic server, but it is not “ERA” in the same way as Classic 19 as it is held in a separate category, much like how SoD is an ERA server but it isn’t Classic 2019, or how Cata is ERA but quite obviously something different from the 2019 ERA servers. This is semantics however, what I mean is quite clear.

In regard to playing SoD I have came back for SoD to play through it now that it has died down and the sweaty welfare recipients have moved on to something else. I would like to play a fresh vanilla server especially as I suspect they’ll roll out classic + on these servers but I think that 1x xp simply takes too long for players like me. If all players “enjoyed the journey” this would be fine, but there is a huge portion of the playerbase that rushes to end game and min maxs and then subsequently gate keeps content. With no GDKP this is even worse and the longer it takes for casuals like me to get to 60 the more we will be gate kept out of content we’ve already done a million times.

Case in point SoD launch with people gatekeeping deadmines because they got to 25 in 2 days

if the xp is too low for you dont play it, its really as simple as that. I love the leveling and how grindy it is. People nowadays just want everything made easy and handed to them xD
