+3 itemlevel for 400 valor points... what a joke

From what I heard the old VP system was just as bad in ways. It’s no solution now just as it apparently wasn’t a solution back then.

They just need to uncap drop rates in M+ significantly and call it a day, problem solved.

Below is the list of items and ranks (from Wowhead):

The cost of the next rank varies depending on an item type:

  • 250 Valor - Shield, Offhand, Ring, Cloak, Bracer, Neck
  • 400 Valor - Trinket, Belt, Shoulders, Gloves, Boots
  • 475 Valor - Helm, Legs, Chest
  • 500 Valor - One-Handed Agility Weapon
  • 750 Valor - One-Handed Intellect Weapon
  • 1000 Valor - Two-Handed Weapon

It’s quite expensive IMO. Also, Items 200+ will require achievements:

  • Item Level 200 (Rank 6) or higher requires Shadowlands Keystone Explorer: Season One.
  • Item Level 207 (Rank 8) or higher requires Shadowlands Keystone Conqueror: Season One.
  • Item Level 213 (Rank 10) or higher requires Shadowlands Keystone Master: Season One.

You need to complete and time all the mythics in the Shadowlands at a certain level to be able to use certain upgrades.

Any class is capable of doing this, if you’re unable to progress through the checkpoints (yes, using your owns keys if necessary) then it’s a problem with you, not the system.

The intended use of the system is not getting +15 acvm and then only farming +2s for items and points.

if you farm +15s you get ilvl 210 gear so you don’t need so many points to upgrade it to max lvl.

obviously blizz knew that people just quickly want to farm items while rushing 2s then up it to max lvl. To prevent that, they choose to make every rank cost same points

so you can either farm some high dungeons hope for item drop then upgrade it with little points or farm lots of low dungeons for lots of points and easy drop chance of low item

Maybe I’m just being stupid but how is it 4 weeks from 210 to 220? 1000 to upgrade at a time, 5000 cap? There is only 3 levels between that?

How is it hello meta classes? Any class can complete keys and actually groups are stupid if they take a class over a player?

What it seems to me is you want high level gear for no input due to your remark about the achievements?

Let’s not forget that actually 220 Gear is a full Sire/Generals gear set!? Basically puts you ready for mythic raiding.

5000 cap cause it started in the middle of the season.

Next season it will be 750 in week 1.

its a system you can also completly skip. by the time you will get ksm and have enough VP to upgrade 2-3 items you will be in 3/4 of 220+ gear from GV in first place anyway .

i think a lot of people still didnt even relaie that 5k valor they are collecting is not weekly cap only overall cap . once they realise forums will be hillarious to read :slight_smile:

There is no weekly cap to how much you can earn - only how much you can hold at any one time. If you can do 4 dungeons per hour you can earn 540 points in that hour. So per day (7 hrs of work) you get 3780.

Valor Point Caps

The Valor system has a Maximum Cap starting at 5,000 during the first week of Patch 9.0.5 and increasing by 750 each week. This is the maximum amount of Valor that can be obtained on one character throughout the entire Season. If you miss a week, don’t worry you can just earn extra next week.

At 135 valor per any level dungeon, you can easily upgrade all 15 items at least once a week. Doing 6 low keys a day isn’t hard at all, and if you have some decent gear, you’ll get invited. You can run your own key. You can play tank spec, get insta invited to a low key, get 3 done in about an hour and that’s an item upgrade for you. Of course, better players can easily get 12-15 keys done in one evening, which means they can get 30 item upgrades per week easily. Hell, I’d argue getting 60 would be easy if rewards do not scale with key level and are 135 per dungeon flat.

Remember - m+ is infinitely spammable and it needs to be balanced around being infinitely farmed. There are way more issues with the system than there are benefits.

Getting one guaranteed item upgrade per 3 dungeons is not bad at all.

30 item upgrades a week, with the cheapest item costs 250 = 7500 valor per week. We have a seasonal optainable cap that is 5000 and gets 750 per week added.

You really have to do +15’s for 210 gear. Then it’s x3 quick upgrades and you have 220.

I’m happy Blizz thought of this limitation. Because right now, reading everything, uncapped valor points seem incredibly op and reward running low keys way too much. The way I thought of Valor is that it was a supplement to gearing, not a gearing path. It is there to help you not have to re-farm some of your dungeon bis items, it’s not there to replace the entire gearing system.

Yeah, about the 2 handers it’s kinda bad. If i want to upgrade lower ilvl polearm/staff on my brew tank, all my valor will go into that and the rest of my gear will stay crap…

Everyone is saying getting KSM is easy, well i don’t have a group to play with, so i need to put.
And let me tell you, pugging can be great, but most of the time its hell.
For those who will say run your own keys, it still can go both ways.
Randoms will leave the group easily if you dont go fast enough in their eyes.
They will sometimes leave if someone dies before we reach the first boss (happened to me).
So putting ilvl 220 behind KSM is total BS.
I can get some items from M+ with better secondarys for my specc, but cant upp them enough because of KSM requirements.

Not to forget how rare weapons drop.
I’ve never got one on my main, the only weapon that i got is from cn nhc XD
Hc bosses don’t want to give me weapons

once (not even once since weapon upgrades are 1000 VP but thats not the point)

you can upgrade that many things once using that 5k .

like i said - most people are under impression that 5k is weekly cap of VP or that there is no cap .

they dont realise its 1 time thing. growing then 750 a week.

Well, it’s kind of the same for dual wielders or 1h/offhand - 2x500 or 750+250.
