+3 itemlevel for 400 valor points... what a joke

I would be if it wasnt for damn cap on valor.

Only 210 items are worth spending valor on. Unless you are already almost maxed out on gear.

Side note: boosting service are at it peak now.
Wonder if all 15 in time was planned by blizzard because they knew players would by tokens just to get achivment and can upgrade their gear to 220.

It is quite plausible

I mean, they better have timed all 5s if they want to - which is what irks me about it.

There’s already an earnings cap, there didn’t need to be an achievement lock as well. It wouldn’t hurt to let people increment one piece of their +4 gear over 2 months if that’s how they choose to play.

I suspect the current valor implementation is just pushing boosts; pay to get all 10s or 15s one time, then chill out and use valor the way everyone actually wanted to in the first place

why not run a higher key and then you don’t have to upgrade it as much?

The game requires a little help from others but paying for boost to get achievement to be able to upgrade is such a waste of money and I am guessing it is not cheap. in the end everything gets superseded in any new major patch, and then in new expansion. How can people accept to lose golds and money, I can’t figure it out.

m8 i saw boosting services for m0 going for 140k… Twisting corridors layer 8 for 250k… content that me and buddy did in 2 days (not 24 hours, but you get what i mean). I mean… why? it’s impossible to fail this content.

If they fix it they will simply keep it at 135 for +15 but nerf +2 to 20 valor. Be happy you can get such high gear by just doing +2s.

I mean, it’s not bad.

My alt dk is 200 ilvl.
I got keystone master on main.

I can spam +2 on my alt and get a weapon to 220 ilvl.

I don’t think I touched a +2 at all, I have more 15s and 10s done than sub +5 keys done in time.

I am rather unhappy players can get strong gear from spamming +2s since it destroys progression and boosts people to where they don’t belong, luckily you have to get KSM for upgrading to that level.

yeah you have point but If you played since start you already got 220 from vault. Even if you are very unlucky. So progress is only valid for the first months. For now they should implement a good catchup to play some twinks…

Have you done the maths on this?

It takes 750 valor for 1 increment on a 1H weapon. That’s 8250 valor to go from rank 1 to rank 12. That’s 60 M+2 runs to max out one weapon.

Valor is not a threat to people doing higher tiers of content. You’re not going to have a bunch of +2 scrubs suddenly apply for your +15 because they upgraded to 220 overnight.

Casual players just wanted some way to progress, even if it’s a single item to max level by the end of the tier. There was no need to restrict it at all.

In fact, not requiring KSM for valor would probably reduce boosting, and with it reduce the 210 gear that casuals get while being boosted. Boosting would go back where it belongs; a last-ditch, end-of-tether method for gearing, not a way to get into an upgrade system that should always have been available to all players.

Forget about the runs. The 8250 valor would be available in ~2 weeks. That makes it ~4 months to upgrade 1 piece.

Anyone upgrading weapons is dumb… vault is there for weapons…

Valor upgrades are for them slots you dont get from raid and trinkets or socketed drops.

You saying you have ksm on main but will spam 2+ for valor to upgrade a weapon comes across to me as youre a boosted player…

For you it’s that, for me it’s a way to do my 10 M+ dungeons while making gold and I’d do way less M+ if not to boost people in the 10 to 15 range, but realistically the % of people buying KSM compared to the overall pop is nothing, maybe 0.01%. A lot of people just want their weekly 226 in their vault, others simply can’t get into groups in LFG or are tired of failing a 14/15 in pug for the 10th time in a row.

I’ve been gearing two alts recently, a hunter (ilvl 208) and a mage (ilvl 203), both are trying to do 10 to 14 keys right now to get rio and gear, the hunt gets invited to a few 10s but declined for basically everything 11 to 14 eventho I could clear them easily, the mage on the other hand gets declined even for 10s and 9s.
This happens simply because high rio/gear players are now farming 10 to 15s constantly for valor so people wait with their key in LFG and invite mostly 1500rio players for a 12 (that’s just an example but you get the idea).

So even if boosting was to “officialy” vanish it would still happen indirectly if to a lesser extent.

You clearly don’t know value of weapons on melee classes.
If you don’t want to push m+ on alt, you can get 220 weapon by spamming +2, and alt will still be 200-205, as it’s just an alt.
Just having 220 weapon pushes you far enough to do whatever on said alt.

Well i do sincd im a warrior… facepalm… but leveling a weapon is a total waste of time and effort

I got my first mythic item today (been on a PVE hiatus) and went to go upgrade it. +3 for 400 valor, and can be upgraded 12 times?

And I have 225 valor? eh.

tbh the only time i can see worth upgrading a piece of gear from a +2 since it’s so low ilvl is if it’s really something that you need like a trinket or a weapon with BiS stats
Other than that i’d personally run +14s and above to try and fish for 210 loot that i can “just” upgrade 3 times and call it a day

The system obviously needs some tuning and i hope to see something done to it in the next patch whenever it releases

What ppl still forget is that KSM is still no walk in the park for most of us, even if some say its easy.
Of you need to pug you wait long for a group and succes rate is very low.

Exactly and valor and the vague description of the weekly caps before the patch release was just a trick to get people into ksm.

Fixes are almost too obvious:

  1. Remove weekly cap
  2. Rise amount of valor depending on the key level

Result: Finally some fun till 9.1 on twinks as well as catch up for new players.

I don’t care about the mythic raider argument:“You don’t deserve it until you earn it”

Everyone who’s not part of the hall of fame yet is just not as elite as they pretend they are.

Blizz just fix this system and for once do not design the game around your stakeholders and twitch streamers.
