Well yes. Like i said the RTX 2060 is not a 4K GPU, except for older games ofc.
But you can lower the settings in WoW if you want.
At what preset are you playing? 10? 7? Custom?
Playing at 10 for now and seems fine, although haven’t done any raiding.
10 is definately too high for your system at 1440P and higher refreshrates.
Im playing at 9 on a 2070 Super + Ryzen 3900x and still don’t get stable 144FPS while doing current worldcontent
Yeah fair enough haha. I’ve gone for the LG monitor, should arrive Wednesday. Will give that a go on 7 and hopefully should get 100+ FPS!
I think you will not regret it
7 should be fine for BfA.
But we will see how optimised the new zones in Shadowlands are.
Take a look at the vampire zone which is on the alpha now.
Looks amazing and i asume it will run as bad or worse than suramar did
Aw yeah it does look great, excited for whenever it actually comes!
I’ve just checked on Curry’s and looks like the LG 27GL850 is £450, whereas I’ve paid £440 on amazon for the 27GL83. Am I seeing that right? Will cancel and reorder the better monitor from there if so!
Edit: in fact, I can get the 27GL850 for £420 with a discount… is it a better monitor?
Yes it is the better version of the one you bought basically.
Little bit better image quality and 2 USB ports.
But better than nothing right?
Cancelled the Amazon order and got the 850 from Curry’s. Saved myself £20 and hopefully got a better monitor
What to be wary of with quoted refresh rates; what resolutions are they able to run with?
It’s all well & good getting a 4k monitor that runs at 144Hz… if 144Hz only works on 1080p.
Haven’t seen anything that would insinuate the LG monitor can’t run 144Hz at 1440p? All reviews indicate it performs as expected.
Which display are you talking about?
The LG is 1440P 144Hz.
Just something to be careful with - not saying anything quoted here IS wrong, just be careful.
I still don’t get it
Some people buy 144Hz monitors only to find that they don’t support 144Hz at the highest resolution the monitor uses; just lower resolutions.
eg:
1080p may give 144Hz, but 1440p may only give 60/75Hz.
I play WoW on 5K iMac… The game looks nice especially Legion and BfA zones.
On the other hand, some elements in WoW look outdated when you use 5K or 4K monitors such as abilities icons, cursor, etc…
The important factor is, you should have solid 60 fps or hugger for a smooth experience.
Never heard of that, but you need a higher quality hdmi/DP cable for high refreshrates.
Else you might not get a signal or have blackscreens/glitches.
But the icons look blurry even in 1080P
In this case, Blizzard must refresh them ASAP!
Will an appropriate HDMI cable come with this monitor or should I order one?
I would recommend using a DisplayPort cable over HDMI.
Can’t really remember if LG included one or if it was HDMI because i also ordered a high quality DP cable when i bought the display.
What’s the benefit of DisplayPort over HDMI if you don’t mind me asking?
