Fully agree with you here, adjustable rates so people could level at the pace they want would be ideal. Im the opposite and would love to level faster since I have zero interest in the 1 to 60 journey.
There is already literally tons of options to level slower though. Quests are colored by level range and mobs 7 levels lower give really low amounts of experience.
You can choose what equipment and what talents you use. You can decide whether to completely pause experience gain altogether.
And you could kill four times as many mobs, and get four times more XP.

There are already a million options to slow your levelling pace.
I hate being that guy but isn’t majority of gearing up experience already shafted pretty badly? Especially around the time where the expansions meet? I mean I kid you not I was shocked to see that starting Outland gear given basically for free was 20 levels higher than one I got from Vanilla’s end dungeons including first dungeon set pieces. Darn shame

I understand that you’re saying it’s an odd thing but with what he was saying, situations like that would just be a bigger dopamine rush.

Well yeah, especially if you’re in questing greens.
Some of the dungeon blues actually stuck around for a bit, but you don’t get those without doing, yanno, dungeons.
Hell yeah the lvling is so much fun than everyone like hard playing reroll.

Oh I know that. I don’t think I’ve replaced the shield that dropped from Cathedral until outlands. The thing is… Greens from outlands outdid blue stuff I found in dungeons like Stratholme.
you only keep Raid gear into outlands - everything else gets swapped out quickly

And you don’t do raids from previous expansions since there’s literally no interest in going through all the hoops now to hit the highest tier which might be worth it.
Currently have all alts at 70, slowly going through their rested with heirlooms, takes about 4-5 runs of ak per level, it’s really not alot already.
Considering it took about 150 runs of nexus/ak/HoS to hit 80 when wrath launched, it’s pretty nice. Begging blizzard to change things because you’re lazy is pretty sad. Suck it up
