This could also be said about those who wants to level slowly? Let those who want to level slowly, walk that extra mile?
But you want me to run to the capitol to turn the buff on?
Like i said, i have no problem walking to the city, but you have a problem?
You see the hypocrisy here, right? You want others do walk the extra mile, while they respect you for your choices. But dont wanna do the same yourself.
Anyway, this is not a hill i wanna die on. This is not really a problem for me, ill gladly walk to turn it on:) Just wanted to show a different PoV.
Maybe i misinterpret it, but i think this is what i dislike. It sounds like those who dont want to level your way are the problem? Calling them names, because they dont wanna level slowly isnt exactly showing respect for their choices:)
nope, It’s like addons, those who want to use extrra go get them. I should not go get anti-addns.
Yes, because XP buff is an extra - again like an addon. It is for me one of the real great put offs, that I am force fed changes, and have to run/fetch … to get rid of them.
Yes, here I’m actually blaming Blizz. By not letting the phases last long enough, they make us feel the need to hurry - and ask for a buff, which they have given us several times already.
I have spoken out for certain items you could get - kinda like Heirlooms - to augment levelling speed for those liking it. Up to 500 % even. The only thing, I always ask for, is that “QoL”-things, all kinds of - should in no way hamper, affect, or hinder those wanting to play the game as it was when it first launched.
This means Addons - yes please. Built in addon functionalities - no thanks. Buff to get - even at loading screen, for those who want this, Fine. Built in XP buff (as on SoM) no thanks.
Always so that extras is the active choice, and no extras the default.
WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Edition will conclude in Winter 2025/Spring 2026. Normal PvE and PvP servers will then transition into a fresh version of Burning Crusade Classic.
As to the duration - your guess is as good as mine.
When I first started wow on EU release in Feb 2005, I only got my hunter to level 47 or so and unsubbed, that’s how tedious and unappealing leveling was for me. I almost missed out on my favourite game for next 2 decades because it is for some reason frontloaded with 7 gameplay days+ of intolerable levelling before the actual fun game begins.
Luckily (or unluckily, heh) I started a mage in summer of 2005 on an RP realm and through a combination of irl factors just had nothing better to do than to stick it out to 60. And boy did I find a gem when I joined a guild and entered first UBRS and later that week first MC with them. Best game in the world hidden behind a week long tutorial that will filter out all “unworthy”.
Ah ok, yeah, many people wait for TBC and indeed play Era meanwhile.
Personally I “wait” for Wrath, but TBC too is pretty fine for me. And TBC will - for me - be a lot better when we get a level boost to 58 because atm I am struggling with leveling. Took me 5 months for my first 60 with which I did only AV from the moment I dinged 51. Yeah, even the suffering in AV was way better for me than to level another char to 60.
Leveling in TBC/Wrath won’t bother me that much bc it’s way faster, but Classic … OMG, not after these many chars I got to 60 all the years before.
Leveling in TBC is for sure not much faster, its slightly faster, its more compressed, but if it takes you 5 months to level 1-60 in vanilla it will take you around 2 months at least to level 60-70.
The amount of experience required per level is reduced by 15% across the board from levels 20-60.
The experience gained from completing quests is increased across the board from level 30 upwards.
On top of this, dungeon quests receive a further experience boost to encourage group play.
Its not its a over all around 25-30% leveling speed increase and my point was more that someone who have a problem with the leveling speed of vanilla to the level it takes them 5 months to hit 60 and who didnt do it slowly to enjoy the ride, will not actually manage to rush max level in tbc ether but they will be a few months behind the first people to hit 70 most likley, its not like it is in wrath where leveling already was so quick that you outleveled everyzone before you had finished the quests in said zone, even if you didnt do any dungeons at all
