5/6 wins 0 cr

I also had those and its really punishing that when you lose 2-6 you lose like -60 and then win only 20 with 4 wins. I think a good change is to at least base the wins/losses on the specs you are facing. I mean Blizzard admitted before that the whole PvP is based on comps, so why not have that embedded in the rating as well? lone caster vs 3 melees? at least you lose a little and gain more, same with one melee vs 3 casters or any other unfavorable matchups. I think this helps to solve many issues with SS so far.

It’s almost like I haven’t given any examples of any scenarios in which you can lose rating through no fault of your own. I mean, the forums are only full of them at the moment. You’re also forgetting that most well established 3’s players all started playing at the beginning of the season then consistently. I also consistently win more games than I lose every week, but couldn’t play for 2 weeks over Christmas and the difference in players because of inflation when I got back was night and day. It was like I was playing at 500 MMR with some players, and 2000 MMR with others all of a sudden. I could easily climb rating with my win rate if I had the time to put in, alas I don’t. That doesn’t change anything.

And you tell me then, if I am consistently winning more games than I’m losing every week, why has my rating stagnated since Christmas? I can tell you why, it’s because when the game thinks I’m supposed to win some games and in normal circumstances I would, an unfair pairing or a random bad DPS/Healer can throw a spanner in the works and put me back to square one. Some people get lucky, others get unlucky. You’re literally not getting paired evenly with every player, meaning the system is inherently unfair which in turn introduces an element of chance. In this case more so for DPS than Healers, shock horror! I know Healers have got it bad when the MMR gap is huge, but DPS don’t get the luxury of fair pairings like they do.

Of course you’re not going to hear about all the lucky ones, they just think they played well. The MMR will either rightfully knock them back down, or they’ll keep on climbing. In which if you have the skill, gets easier when you get higher, as the level of overall competency among your team mates increases.

Do you really not see that dumb luck and chance play a huge roll in the low MMR games? I wish it were as simple as “just win more than you lose and you’ll climb” but it’s really not.

Ignore me if you want, that won’t change anything either.
