i noticed last night that im on 501 after finaly getting this season KSM mount last night 
I only ride my Headless horseman and Cliffside Wilderdrake or whatever the name is.And I also use the repair mount a lot.Thats pretty much it.
I do not have 700 but I certainly donāt use many of the ones I do have.
I used to ride Heart of the Aspects before I got Bronze Drake or eventually bronze scales for the Highland Drake. Also used the WoD faerie dragon mount before we got a better one in DF.
And now I have a nelf hippogriff from the wc3 mount pack.

Iāve stopped caring about mounts since DF. The lack of variety of mounts in the last two expansions has been appaling. They are just re-skins of re-skins at this point.
Stone ram ? yawn already had one 20 years ago
A bee mount ? Yawn already had one back in 2019
Flying snake mount ? You mean the flying serpent skeleton re-skin ? Yawn had those since 2012
Okay okay wuul , what about the new mount in the incoming patch eh ?
What the hyena mounts ? Yawn had those since 2018

You get my point , Blizz are simply pure lazy when it comes to mounts these days. Even the 1 year sub mounts are just lazy.
Mounts was my driving force to log in , rep up , gear up , grind up. Iāve gotten lazy because blizz got lazy.

I use more flying mount than ground mount.
If zone no allow flying. When I use group mount
think im at 400something at this point. This game rains mounts whether you want them or not

what is lazy is players saying ālazyā and not coming up with valid ideaās which in turn is ālazyā
With over 1000+ to collect i can not blame them to keep thingās fresh.
The snake mount could have been a proper slithering ground mount. Weāve never had that before would have been soo cool!
I remember blizz pitching the idea of a caterpillar mount years ago. Weāve never had one of those or a mount moving like one.
Goblins could have built like a full gundam mech for this patch would have been seriously awsome. A true juggernaught mount.
Damn im not even paid and I already thought up 3 mount ideas , that new and original to the game under 10 seconds. So explain how paid staff with more time canāt think up stuff like this : / !?

Edit : just thought of this whilst posting this reply. Remember class mounts ?! from Legion. Imagine class specific mech mounts for this patch. OMG I would have loved that so would have the players. I havenāt leveled every class to 80 yet , perfect excuse right there. Mini quest to send us back to our class halls , goblin npc inside. Telling us to go undermine. New class quest. Man that would have been cool.

Actually we dont need 700 mounts, pets or transmogs so please if you notice yourself. They focus more on those than this game I mean hello it is world of warcraft.

According to DataforAzeroth, I somehow managed to collect 845 mounts.
No, I do not ride all of them.
I use old-school mounts from older expansions because those are iconic.
All the others are just cringe recolors and only add to a meaningless collection.

Blizzard tends to make over-the-top mounts and I generally like more subdued designs.
Itās why my favorite, and most used, flying mount is the Grand Gryphon.
Nice and simple, but not as low res as a lot of the old-school stuff
(although, I suppose by now MoP is old-school too? ).
For me that is regularly an issue with new mounts: They often have armor or saddles in themes that I donāt like.

The only mount system I have not enjoyed is the manuscripts for dragon riding mounts.
Although I wasnāt a big fan of the creation system in Zereth Mortis neither.
Maybe itās time to incorporate a Mount ātransmogā system.
Just like what you could do with Dragonriding mounts in DF; make all mounts customizable. Have exclusive armor and saddles and horns and skins, etc. That might be more interesting than just more mounts.

I enjoyed the hunt for the patterns for the mount and pets in ZM.
Making them however I agree tedious. Forced to raid , or do LFR at least to make some of them. Especially the mounts.
The mote farming was a chore and a real bore.

Each to their own, Iām just glad it wasnāt repeated.
Iām working my way through the pets but not actively farming the motes. Just a byproduct of other things Iām doing.
One of my fondest moments , was first boss in Sepulcher. Me randomly dropping down and my raid leader asking if I mentally challenged. I told them thereās one of the new mount patterns down here. Just got to click it.
Seeing 17 other people jump down without hesitation. Including the raid leader lol
just thought it was hilarious my sanity was questionned.

341 mounts - not riding all of them of course. All my druids use flight form all other herbalists use the golem so thatās a little less diversity.
Only bought one store mount when it was discounted and I know how stupid that was to fall for that (oh well 12 euro 50 is worth the lesson 
).
So indeed I donāt āneedā any single additional mount.
