9.0 Shadowlands sound like a perfect setup for WoW 2

Basically 10.0 is WoW 2 the same way HotS got a rerelease as HotS 2 and what I expect :-

Fresh start, revised and upgraded core systems.

Classes redefined, spec concept redefined.

The same style of WoW but improved, enhanced en masse as in assets and stuff are reused but improved and optimized in an entirely new base.

Getting rid of clutter, 10.0 most significant feature will be that it would get rid of clutter, tangled questlines, left over npcs, time locked expansions and areas ( undercity won’t stay plagued for 5-8 expansions because it’s plaguing is a feature of BFA or stratholme staying on fire etc.

Faction redesign, I think a faction redesign is going to be one of the main things in Wow 2, ala 10.0.

Power scale reset, we start back as new adventurers, our old characters will be given the choice to be reborn.

What do you guys think, would a relaunch of WoW with massive changes for the 10th expansion be a good thing? like an entirely new WoW built on WoW?

P.S : we are about to hit 8.3 and the friggin mobs in Tol’dagor still fall through the floor and get pulled through walls, Aqu’siir still can’t be hit by warbreaker after he wave surges… like srsly is the huge quality dropped and disappearance of " blizzard polish " is caused because of the focus on 10.0 or are the doomsayers actually right this time?

P.S.S : In 8.3 give arms warriors 10% increased damage done, 10% damage taken reduction and 20% threat generation reduction. So people would actually wait 5 seconds before kicking me instead of insta kicking, Being absolute garbage for 8.0, 8.1 and 8.2 and now obviously and undeniably in 8.3 also is not fun, Thanks.

No. I don’t want to start all over. If I don’t want to play WoW anymore, than I just stop playing it.

This. No WoW 2. I would never play it.

they can do what they did with OW 2 and transfer stuff over :))

They’ll have to if they don’t want to lose people along the way.

No way people will gladly accept to lose hard earned stuff to move to the 2.0 version.

Wishful thinking but will they really invest on that ? Not so sure

No because 8.3 is still in development and I would suggest that will be fixed on release. See this is why I keep saying Blizzard putting things on a PTR is a BAD idea because all it does is let people take on thing, run away with it and smash themselves with the wrong end of the stick until either the stick is smashed in to smithereens or their head explodes.

Still. To quote you again.

That’s the only way it would work. There would be absolute hysteria if Blizzard suddenly morphed current WoW into WoW2 and expected everyone to play a “new” game. Otherwise WoW2 would have to be a completely new concept.

Wow 2 could work.

Providing blizzard is willing to carry people’s account and characters to it.

But it’s unlikely they would go to all this just to make WoW 2. But yeah if ur wanting a hard restart good luck.

The last game to try this was Everquest and it litterally murdered their franchise. People don’t respond to sequel MMORPGs very well at all.

Thought people would take that as a given, the " reset " I meant as in people would start from level 1 and stuff.

Yeah we gotta wait for Beta of Azeroth to get out of beta for bugs to get fixed duh

Maybe people aren’t reporting these bugs enough or they are so rare to recreate, after all only 9 out of 10 times does warbreaker not hit aqu’siir after a wave surge, and only most of tol’dagor runs get a bug like mobs pulled through walls, or a mob from a lower level getting pulled, they’re so rare!

Hopefully in release them bugs will be completely squished out!

HotS did this and it was super good actually, brought many players including me back.

As much as I love the wow systems I don’t think moving on without undergoing various changes would be a good thing.

Wow 2 would probably bring way more things to weigh in their favour.

1- HD of everything
2- Sense of exploration
3- Immersion, after all there won’t be 2 garroshs, a vol’jin and a Sylvannas at the orgrimmar throne room no more.
4-Improvements of current ingame systems, includes how reputations are handled, how players interact with factions, how prefossions work
5- A much needed economy overhaul
6-Introduction of none timelocked zones
7- better power curve

and a lot more tbh.

Essentially yeah.

I doubt it would be a port to a new engine but rather a " Relaunch "

10.0 being a bigger xpac ? Seems way more possible than a brand new game.

Yea and ppl will loose everything they worked for 12 years ( mounts , collections , achievements mogs , etc , cool story .

If they make entirely a new game that’s another story .

And what about all the collectables that people have spent years collecting?

I would let WoW 2 happen only if it’s without any Chinese influence upon it.

I want raw passion and teamwork that build something amazing, just as how WoW started.
No censoring, no scummy monetization and no favouritism.

Please.

No Horde Bias ? kappa

What, Oh so you WANT me to write that!

WoW 2 sounds like those fake GTA VI concept arts and cover arts.

The name itself is dumb

When I read favouritism, I understand any form of favouritism. Obviously, Horde bias is, as selling Invaders’ related items. Sorry, I meant Chinese culture.

Yeah, people are going to celebrate when all their collections are gone. These awesome transmoggs, stupid mounts and ridiculous toys.

The only things that will be gone is probably changing stuff, like gold, levels and currencies.

But let’s be real here, no one will care if a classic tmog set got removed in order for it to be replaced by an HD version of it.

Afaik the legion 7.2 remake of old sets was well received, they’re one of the most awesome looking sets and I doubt any one bothers tmoging the old sets when they have the new ones.

A WoW 2.0 would mean an HD version of a lot of the current gear, new gear pieces and removed no longer obtainable stuff.

This means no more pixel skimpy mogs, pixelated weapons and the like, instead we gotta farm the HD versions of them which I honestly don’t mind doing.

It could be cool if we get to keep the old non HD versions, but that may interfere with implementing new models.

Let me give you a simple comparison.

New shiny models with NO limitations ( as in they don’t have to check every single piece of old gear which is in thousands and make sure it doesn’t look funky ) along side shiny new HD gear

Or they give us limited models with a huge development time spent in trying to make sure old items match and way fewer new HD gear in favour of keeping that old pixelated item.

People hate change, but tbh sometimes change is good.

A fresh game that isn’t massively huge on file size, massively cluttered and massively inflated with a lot of things might seem like it would suck, but it would be infinitely better along time.

An analogy would be something like this for a measure of coolness as time progresses :-

Current Wow : 900 - 901 - 902 - 903 - 1000 ( expansion hits )
Wow 2 : 1 - 50 - 100 - 400 ( expansion hits )

Wow 2 would probably catch up in 1-3 expansions and then moves forward at a much greater pace than current WoW.

Keep in mind a Wow 2 feature would be allowing many things that current wow can’t do right now, like tight fit gear, no more hovering shoulders, dye application, choosing 1 pad and on which shoulder for shoulders, equipping 1 glove instead of two and on which hand, etc.

Because of the way the current gear is handling the Tmog system is super limited, but imagine if you could have all the mismatched gear you have one be the right shade of coloring, or if you could choose one shoulder pad, etc.

Sometimes taking a step back is good in order to progress correctly imo.

With how blizz handled OW 2 I don’t really think we are going to see that much of a difference with a WoW 2 happening.
