I do not understand your point, if I do not use one talent in an entire compact tree but switch between others then the tree is still a far bigger improvement on an the old inflexible static system. And really, if you want something for fantasy you aren’t really going to care about your dps, the option to gimp yourself exists in both tree systems. I am never going to prefer the old clunky trees where I was forced to put points in irrelevant things just to get to things further down. That I could not easily switch between for different content, without costing me a fortune and was a nightmare to have to do the entire talent tree over to make one minor change. You can like them. You can prefer them. But I prefer the system that we have now. Can improvements be made to the current system, of course.
I miss that row so much!!! I loved having a choice of three different movement speeds.
Bring back old talent trees for LEVELING. Make it like artifact weapons, that in the end you will have every point spent. Don’t make any spell/passive appear in your spellbook automaticaly. Even if it’s illusion of choice, that will improve greatly leveling experience giving some control over your character development.
Keep new talent tree as glyphs (or w/e other name). It’s good and gives a choice.
REWORK TALENTS!!! If “aoe talent row” has 3 aoe abilities then it’s obvious 1 will be picked all the time and others will be never picked. There have to be cons and pros of picking each talent in each row.
New or old, there always going to be a cookie cutter. I prefer old tree, because with old tree you did not have to change talents 5 times in single raid session. I also liked the old one, because it was not class changing. You had always full access to your class abilities. Now you don’t have that. It’s like with old tree you had 90% access your class, with being good at 1 role and semi decent in other roles. With new talent trees, you get 30% access and you are good only at 1 role and good for nothing anything else.
This and talents feel like:
- ok team, we need new talent for resto shaman!
- something with Riptide maybe?
- ok, so let’s add talent increasing Riptide’s healing by 30% BUT let’s reduce its healing baseline by 30% to keep it neutral!!
- brilliant brilliant BRILLIANT!
