[9th Dec] Clandestine Gathering – Void Elves & Blood Elves

If you can’t kill someone in 5 minutes are you really even trying?

I just wish Survival had Hunter’s Mark. That would be :ok_hand: :fire: :100:

“I’ll mark you with this spear to your neck!”

I’m not too sure what happened at the start (as myself and other belf, we were away other side of the region), but it all got sorted in the end and that’s all that matters :sunglasses:

OOC whispers etc, I’m not privy to, but it would be fun when numbers are up to have this network (if there will be one) in place and is a perfect opportunity to discretely spy on each other under the guise of ‘i’m your friend, you can trust me’ (if that’s your angle) at big events.

Getting info and passing it back, end up being discovered (if that happens), resulting IC consequences from both sides. All part of the fun :v:

Or what?
Not much the ‘pack’ can do, really, if people don’t want to play along.

The pretty juvenile ‘gang’ meme and the tone some of the posters have taken makes it easy to believe that there was never any intention to offer any legitimate discussion about the event.

I use the same macro on Serpent Sting as survival. Switches to the closest target and casts Serpent Sting on them. Pops a rogue out of stealth all the same.

But I think rogues can cloak it, so it’s not as good as marking them :frowning:

I mean your group is equally as guilty of derailing the thread as they’re talking about hunters lol.

My group? I can see who you’re referring to and that’s just as disruptive, I completely agree.

As is always the case with conflict oriented RP, healthy communication will improve the experience for everyone. Clearly the incident at the start had two groups with very different ideas of how they wanted the event to go, and given that the Velf side in this case hosted the event it’s a completely reasonable thing to elect not to cater to a type of RP they never intended for or wanted.

It’s a shame that so many people’s time were wasted (on both sides) and that the confrontation ended up feeling so bitter for both parties. Hordes have complained about the OOC /say’s, but trust me Alliance were none too happy about the haughty insults that were lavishly thrown around IC at us, when we stood there being instructed not to respond.

Hopefully this can serve as a teaching experience about the importance of setting each other’s expectations, and promoting good discussion beforehand. This was all easily avoidable.

Lastly I just want to thank the other hordes who showed up afterwards for their outstanding patience. And everyone who attended for a good event, the rocky start excluded.

Pretty weird assumption seeing how there was plently of legitimate discussion.

It’s just very disappointing to be labeled as griefers after some ooc-miscommunication.

Still, for what it’s worth, I think the basic idea is pretty neat. I’m not hugely into void elven lore, but I think this type of cloak and dagger RP is probably the best that can be done with it. Hope it carries on and with some better communication there can be another attempt at some more fun interaction.

Well yeh it’s pretty obvious they are your group/affiliated. I just found it funny that you said it whilst sandwiched by equally as derailing posts without calling them out.

There is no discussion.

We felt uninvited, we left.

If you don’t like how we stand up for ourselves being falsely accused for ruining someones RP, then don’t accuse the GANG.

simple.

Why do you 1. bring IC insults into OOC 2. stand still when “instructed” to?

I’m mostly over the whole ‘group/affiliation’ thing on the forums, it’s very 2014. But yeah, his posts are daft/annoying and I only noticed them after the comments I made that you replied to.

Why do you 1. bring IC insults into OOC

I believe it was more than clear you were not wanted. And that the roleplay was not happening. The group didn’t accept the social contract that should be in place when roleplaying. Thus when you choose to continue standing around, slinging insults at someone who is frankly not interested in engaging with you at all, that’s a problem. Not because of the insults, but because you didn’t accept that we didn’t want to deal with you.

  1. stand still when “instructed” to?

We were part of an event, it only makes sense to listen to the input of the coordinator. I’m not sure why that would seem strange to you?

Because we refused to entertain your idea of roleplay for us, we were able to shoo you away and have the RP we came for afterwards.

Sorry to deny you your big gotcha.

Although regardless, someone I’m otherwise friends with being equally unconstructive doesn’t invalidate what I’ve said.
