[A / 8.3 themed Riot RP] Hysteria šŸ‘ - 6th of Feb

Oh, not saying there was not enough warning. Just saying that even with an infinite amount of warning, preventing any other RP by yell spamming does more harm than good.

Very fair argument, actually. Didnā€™t even think of that, to be honest.

My character immediately went home and barred her doors when the riot started (for obvious reasons), so I just went and watched it on an alt.

Thatā€™s just what I gathered from this statement:

A good way, as Constabulary said, was maybe to just turn yells off for some time.

Outside of events I have yells in a seperate chat box anyway, 'cuz I guarentee theyā€™re just some random insult from 1-on-1 roleplay or the dreaded crowbow shot.

Oh, you guys definitely gave enough warning. Itā€™s just one example I took for yell spam making chat unreadable. Could have just as well put any other RP, pre-planned or not, in there.

But as I said, Iā€™m apparently not the brightest and didnā€™t think about turning off yells.

Tbf i had never even thought of that idea until it was mentioned, rly galaxy brain.

I almost always have yells switched off in Stormwind [unless Iā€™m feeling particularly braindead] since it helps me remain immersed by making the city appear larger owing to the lack of random /y conversations / exchange of insults / insults towards legitimate yells that would be heard in a city / look at me going against the grain iā€™m cool etc. etc. etc.

can assure you that emoting in yells, hell, most of the yells werenā€™t really intended at the conceptualization. Sadly, in a public event in a capital city thereā€™s little control over who gets involved and what they do.

Sorry to hear that SWā€™s wacky unleashed randos effectively cancelled an event you seemingly wanted to attend!

Forums are not doing too well at keeping up with peopleā€™s guilds. I think youā€™d need to join another guild for it to update itself. Or relog on the forums. Or do both and pray.

join another guild, then relog on the forums. Thatā€™s the only reliable cure i know.

One of the most offensive (if not the most offensive) yells I saw from my brief glimpse at the event was by someone with no RP addon and in a raiding guild who was flying around on a gryphon.

OOCers and bad faith RPers are a menace :pensive:

Sweats profusely
Wh-what do you meanā€¦

Look into your heart, you know it to be true.

Iā€™ll admit I did some of my emotes in yell, namely throwing eggs and tomatoes at guards, the Cathedral, Embassy and Keep. And at the last I held up a stick of dynamite at the bridge to the Keep( shortly after the majority of characters died). But those were only a handful, though I can see how itā€™s annoying.

Did both like a week ago. Guess I shouldnā€™t expect a small indie company like Blizz to have functioning forums.

Yea, but if a hundred people do a handful of yell emotes each, you get a huge pile of garbage.

Just wanted to give my constructive criticism, like I said, I am quite enjoying the aftermath.
