There you have it, apparently bombing the forums as we have been doing is the way forward, so everyone saying “BlIzZaRd DoNt ReAd FoRuMs” there you go. Time to carry on with the forum spam until they do something in regards to a form of compensation!
"Hey there! Game Master BLANK here!
I’ve read your ticket about some login issues after Shadowlands’ launch!
Like any launch, high-population servers have seen a pretty sharp surge of players during the Shadowlands launch. This can cause a number of issues - high queue times specifically, but also disconnections, errors like Transfer Aborted or World Server Down, and blank Character Screens (no characters have been lost or deleted - they’re just not loading on some players’ screens.)
At the moment, this is impacting all servers - but a few in each region are being hit particularly hard.
These issues are our Dev crew’s top priority, and they’ve been taking a number of different steps the past few days to fix these issues - although the primary issue is still the sheer number of people trying to log in at one time.

Many players are asking for free transfers to less populated realms, or other forms of compensation. These could only be provided by our Dev crew directly. Customer Service could only address one player at a time, where Dev would be able to provide compensation to all affected players.
For now they’re focused on getting things fixed, but if you’d like to see compensation sent out or transfers enabled, you can make that request through either a forum topic, or the Suggestion button in-game.
I know these issues are pretty frustrating, but reach on out to Dev if you’d like to see them make changes.
– Note that we’ve recently updated the in-game Help menu, so the Suggestion and Bug Report buttons are in a new place:
