If you want to express your skill like that play a Raid. Dungeons have a time limit. You HAVE to pull big otherwise you dont make the timer.
PLEASE. Get yourself Plater. And you will see its night and day compared to playing with out addons.
And that is literally the PoV of Blizzard. In other words. They acknowledge that addons limit their design of content. But in BOTH directions.
They cannot make fun mechanics because people abuse them with addons. And they cannot make fun mechanics because the base UI of blizzard is so horribly bad people would not enjoy them with out 3rd party addons.
I say ENJOY. Not “cheat” or “play for you”.
They tried it in S1 of TWW and it was a disaster. NOBODY liked 3 mob pulls. That is the reason why blizzard is making all those in-house addons. So you can enjoy the content they make, so they can continue to make 20 pull mobs for everyone to enjoy.
So. You dont have Plater now. But be prepared to open the “options” page and configure your default Nameplates. Because it WILL be needed.
If just deleted most of my addons in preparation for midnight, not going to install another one. I rather adjust my playstyle to the game than manipulate the game into something it’s not; if everybody would do so, dungeons timers would be increased and we could play comfortably. It’s anti-imemrsive to be fighting 20 enemies at once anyway; it’d rather go up against NPCs on eye level.
Ah geez. I remember NL. What a horrible place. EVERYTHING had grey cast bars. It was so annoying. And everyone had the “tank PoV” with huge mobs occupying the whole screen.
The saving grace of NL back in DF was the fact that the mobs were so big. And the ones that mattered actually glowed. Which helped a bit.
Remember the “Taumaturges” that if they casted something it was an instant wipe? Those guys glowed red at the head. And were bigger than the rest. And occupied half the screen. Easy to see.
Not to me. And I don’t see what should be fun with it. Most our abilities are capped to damage 5-8 targets anyway. There is no reason to pull more than that - and if you don’t pull too much at one, there’s also no trouble interrupting everything.
Wtf even is that argument? I’m sorry but “anti-immersive”? Says who and according to who? I have fought dragons, gods and titans and ts anti-immersive for me to fight 20 humans? Hell we have history of small armies going against legions and holding their own (Leonidos’ 300).
Nah, having too many mobs at once is just stressful and not fun… and not just as a tank, it’s the same as dps or healer. Damage coming from all sides or having to turn aroudn all the time to find out where your target is standing - not fun. Small group is way more chill and fun . And even more fun if you need to hard cc 2-3 mobs and keep an eye out to redo the cc so they don’t come out.
It’s not an addon if it’s in game - then it’s what the devs are actually working with; I have no problem with that; what I don’t want is having to download stuff from 3rd party sites and then having to do that again with every little patch, half of them not even being updated in time.
PLUS. M+ is an infinitely scalable system. Low number of mobs creates a problem. A BIG one, and that is why nobody likes them:
A baseline pack of mobs has to do 100 damage. If you divide that damage by 3 mobs, and increase the key level (aka, the % of that damage per mob) you VERY fast encounter 1-shots. And its not fun.
If you divide that damage by 20 mobs. You dont reach 1-shot territory. But it’s STILL dangerous. Because you are receiving 100 damage. Just not at the same time, so you can “manage it” and express skill.
Hence WHY people prefer 20 mobs. In M+. Which is infinitely scalable.
And before you say: Well instead of 100 damage / 3 mobs lets do 10 damage / 3 mobs… NEWSFLASH: M+ is infinitely scalable. STILL the same problem.
I never said Blizzard’s addons are good. They are infact pure garbage. But they are THERE.
And beleive me, if I have to choose to play with garbage addons, than with out addons… its better to play with the garbage ones. Because they WILL make dungeons just like they do them today. In fact, they are on record saying nothing will change in M+.
I don’t care about that - I care about what the game tells me. If I have a room in front of me where I can identify several packs of mobs, that tells me those are meant to be pulled separately - why else would they stand in different groups? If they were supposed to be pulled together, they could’ve just been made to stand in one group. Same with those stupid “routes” … I hate those. I prefer dungeons where there’s just one way and it’s clear what to pull and what not - preferrably everything, because if stuff isn’t supposed to be pulled, why is it even in the dungeon?
HUH? That is the lamest excuse I have ever heard. What difference does it make to click on Curse Forge or to click on the “Options”.
Besides. Do you think blizzard addons will be bug-free every single patch? Of course they wont. The difference between 3rd party creators and Blizzard is that 3rd party coders take HOURS to fix the bugs. Blizzard takes 7 months.
Because it evens the playing field. Not everybody knows how to handle addons or even where to get them or which ones to get - if they are in game, everybody has the same and the same options, that’s fair.
