[A-RP] Amirdrassil - New Home, New Hope šŸŒ³

Welcome if you find the time and energy to attend!

Setting Up School is more aimed at those with interest in the arcane & magely matters, and instead of lessons, the event focuses on gathering resources for teaching future mages in Amirdrassil! Weā€™ll make a list of the items donated that people are welcome to incorporate into their roleplay later on.

However, Where the Druids Slumber would be a great place to look for a potential mentor in druidism!

Unfortunately Iā€™m not sure how well I can manage the times due to my own problems, so Iā€™m afraid Iā€™ll have to cancel my sign-up for the ā€˜Two Faces to Match a Twinned Moonā€™ events and someone else can join instead! Hopefully this is early enough that it wonā€™t cause any problems.

Still hoping to catch the occasional RP around Amirdrassil and/or the public events, though! :deciduous_tree:

No problem at all, thank you for being mindful and letting us know in advance Nera! Iā€™ve removed you from the sign-up list for that event, so thereā€™s now 1 spot free.

Hope to see you around Amirdrassil!

I understand! Just a thought, but on second thought maybe schools and druids doesnā€™t work out so wellā€¦ Everyone would just oversleep all the time. Where the Druids Slumber sounds like the right cup of tea, count me in.

Let me fill that other spot instead, that will cure my fomo for tomorrow!

In-Character Name: Arithiea Bitterleaf
In-Game Name: Arithiea

This was beautiful and deserves to be immortalized. Thank you.

It has only been a few days and already Iā€™ve seen quite a few new faces, some of them freshly discovering that the /nod emote on female night elves is a bad idea.

Hope this continues.

Thank you everyone who joined Stocking Up in Stormwind ! During the trip, youā€¦

  • Entered the world of iridescent odours, and some of you turned into glittering disco balls. At least the supplies were on the house!

  • Got stuck in a traffic jam and almost got stolen from by street urchins in the crowd.

  • Felt the fury of local fashionistas

  • While you perhaps didnā€™t save an old shoemakerā€™s crickety business, you saved a number of solesā€¦

  • Ruined a proposal, maybe postponed a happy marriage, buuut itā€™s all for a noble cause!

Thanks for coming and Ryldor for helping with NPCing, was fun to get to know your characters a bit through this event. See you around Amirdrassil!

Whatā€™s this? Even more events? Please welcomeā€¦

With everything that has befallen the night elves, itā€™s likely everyone have lost someone close. There are moments to look back, and moments to push forward. The event is split into two parts:

Remembrance in Belā€™ameth, organized by Hidani Stardew (Acronaā€™s alt). On this occasion, people are invited to hang up hand-crafted ornaments on a wisteria tree, in remembrance of someone theyā€™ve lost.

People are welcome to say a few words about the person theyā€™re remembering. After a week, the ornaments will be moved to the grove where the Revival ceremony is held.

  • To ensure this part of the event proceeds at a nice pace, we ask players to prepare their item description emote, and the possible short speech, ahead of time!
  • It would be lovely if people summoned some Wisp companions as the remembrance occasion proceeds. Since Amirdrassil wisp NPCs are limited to elves who perished during the Fourth War, the summoned wisps would most likely represent the spirit of someone perished during the Fourth War who the attendee knew, or an unknown wisp drawn over from the boughs like a curious onlooker. Regardless, the event is for honoring lost loved ones no matter when they passed on.

After the remembrance, a procession takes the attendees to the next area:

Revival ceremony is held on a sheltered grove outside Belā€™ameth, organized by Morningtide and Tiaryn!

In the theme of renewal, a beautiful ceremony will be held to inspire the attendees to nurture Amirdrassil as they obtain a seed for planting.

  • Players are encouraged to bring a lantern item that will be used during the Revival ceremony.

Date: Friday 2nd February, 8pm Server Time
Location: Starting in Belā€™ameth

No signing up in advance. If phasing is active, a raid group will be formed & filled on a first come, first served basis.

Additionally! Thereā€™ll be a workshop event organized by Morningtide on Saturday 27th January, where characters may work on the remembrance ornaments in a social setting, with a variety of crafting materials provided such as beads, threads and woodcarving tools.

Wow, that event is definitely something I look forward to!

Iā€™m wondering if itā€™s a ceremony specifically for those lost in the Fourth War, though. The most logical person for Lintian to act in remembrance for would be her Sentinel mother (with whom she was on bad terms before her death and retained a grudge after), but she died in backstory, during Archimondeā€™s march on Mount Hyjal, and I donā€™t know if Amirdrassil houses any other wisps besides the victims of the Burning of Teldrassil.

The event is not specifically for those lost in the Fourth War! Could be remembering someone lost long ago, or recently. Hope to see you there!

Also to comment on this part, to my knowledge as well al the wisp NPCs in Amirdrassil represent spirits of night elves who perished sometime during the Fourth War (the Horde invasion through Ashenvale, and the Burning of Teldrassil). I think this article covers all of them:

As such, the summoned wisps would most likely represent the spirit of someone perished during the Fourth War who the attendee knew, or an unknown wisp drawn over from the boughs like a curious onlooker. As stated though, the event is for honoring lost loved ones regardless of when they passed on!

Happy batch day!

In the morning I tested the Stormwind mage portal to Belā€™ameth on a lvl 19 and a lvl 1 character; it works. So even low level characters should now be able to access and roleplay in Amirdrassil!

If anyone observes phasing though, please let me know.

The only phasing Iā€™ve noticed so far is for the 10.2 campaign finale ā€” the one with the consecration ceremony and the feast.

Questing through it puts you in a phase that shows Amirdrassil as it was in 10.2. Completing the final quest ā€œAndu-falah-dorā€ puts you back into the 10.2.5 phase with Belā€™ameth built.

I can, unfortunately, confirm that Belā€™ameth is currently sharded. I had to join a party to see another player in her shard.

Hadnā€™t checked out the zone much yet, but as of today Iā€™m a Belanaar stan.

There might be some bias at play here because I always loved hanging around Auberdine and Feathermoon back in the day, but it ticks all the boxes for me.

Thanks for dropping a comment about it! And apologies, meant indeed sharding instead of phasing. Heard another player report the same, good to be aware of it with the upcoming events in mind. Will proceed with the aforementioned notion that raid group will be formed & filled on a first come, first served basis.

Sweet! Despite the initial skepticism, so far the comments on the zone have been overwhelmingly positive from what Iā€™ve seen.

Today was the first casual RP night since Belā€™ameth went live, and what a joy it was! We had to create an RP group because of the sharding, which began with just two people, but then more arrived, and more asked for invites, and it absolutely snowballed! Soon our original meeting place by the inn got too crowded, and Acrona suggested we go to the gazebo by the Terrace of the Moon.

It was a warm and wholesome experience, with many faces old and new, and thought-out and original character concepts. It made me nostalgic for night elf RP of old, in Wrath and WoD, and I hope the community will only grow and flourish from here.

Iā€™m looking forward to meeting the new acquaintances again, at Acronaā€™s trade night event this Saturday!
