[A-RP] Azure Dawn - Quel'dorei Supremacy!

Seven thousand years.

For seven thousand years, Quel’Thalas stood; a beacon of elven pride and magical supremacy. We were the sun blessed. And now? Our people are diminished; our lands lost to those that would ally themselves with the very beasts we’ve fought for countless years.

The fool Garithos has paid for his folly with his life, and yet now our ‘brothers’, the Sin’dorei, still ally with the vile Horde, allowing them to defile the streets of our rightful home. Twice they have been offered an olive branch clasped in the hand of the Alliance - first by King Wrynn, and then by Ranger-Captain Alleria Windrunner herself. Twice, they have spurned our offers to reunite Quel’Thalas. This can not stand.

A new dawn is on the horizon, and with it, the resurgence of the Quel’dorei.

Guild Info:
The Azure Dawn are a militaristic order of High Elves that is aligned with, and funded by, the Grand Alliance - however, a high degree of autonomy is retained, allowing us to choose our deployments and contributions. The overall goal of the guild in the short-term is to secure and protect Quel’dorei interests across Azeroth, and ensure the survival of the Quel’dorei race. The long term goal is a return to the status quo; to see the restoration of the High Kingdom as a key friend to the Alliance, and as a powerful, independent nation once more.

Whilst we are hostile towards the Horde, there are some sympathies to be found on the individual level towards Sin’dorei that may have had a change of heart following the betrayal and ill-treatment at the hands of Grand Marshal Garithos and now express a desire to return to the Alliance.

Rank Structure:
The rank structure of the order is designed to reflect the dawn of a new order, and the hope that there’ll once more be a new dawn over the High Kingdom for the Quel’dorei. As such, many ranks represent the burden each member of the Azure Dawn carries. These ranks are also deeply rooted in the three main tenets of Quel’dorei society before the fall of Quel’thalas, namely in the Ranger Corps/Farstriders, the Magisters, and the Priests, which will primarily form the basis of what we recruit.

Ranger Captain - The highest level of the order. In High Elven society, a Ranger Captain may lead a lodge and the people within. The duty of the Ranger Captain within the Azure Dawn is very much the same; the burden of the survival of those within this order falls on his shoulders, and his alone. All excursions, whether to conflict or in pursuit of an item of interest are planned for and decided ultimately by him. From an OOC perspective, this rank represents the guild leader.

High-Priestess - Supporting the Ranger Captain is the High-Priestess. Whilst the Ranger Captain focuses on the military aspect of protecting their people, her interests lay elsewhere; political intrigue, nurturing necessary alliances, and rooting out unsavoury sorts are her domain.

Dawnbringer - Dawnbringers are the elite few Dawnguards that have shown an affinity for leadership and tactics, and form up the remainder of the officer-corps of the Azure Dawn beneath the Ranger Captain and High-Priestess.

Dawnguard - A vaunted hall of only the most devoted and experienced members of the Azure Dawn; those that have performed extraordinary feats, and have proved themselves as integral parts of the order.

Arcanist - Elven magi are renowned for their affinity with and devastating use of magic. Trained in a variety of the schools of magic, Arcanists aid the Azure Dawn both on the battlefield, and elsewhere with their other highly varying talents.

Cleric - Following the doctrines of the Church of the Holy Light, clerics are both the compassionate healers of the Azure Dawn, and the more fanatical zealots that carry out the Lights justice.

Guardian - Forming the core of the Azure Dawn’s combat doctrine, the guardian corps is formed from not only ranks of rangers, but also lancers and knights; elite troops of the Quel’dorei that wield weapons such as sword and bow to defend their brethren.

Recruit - New members to the order that have yet to prove themselves will find themselves in this introductory rank, where we’re able to get a feel for you and how you fit with the guild, and you’re able to get a feel for us, and indeed the guild as a whole.

Tainted - The lowest rung on the ladder, those that hold this rank are not pure Quel’dorei. They have pledged their allegiance to, and their goals align with the Order, however they will only be known as Tainted, whether they are of mixed-blood, or void-addled.

What are we looking for?
We are seeking individuals that are like-minded and active, and will aid in reaching our goal of becoming an immersive Quel’dorei guild. We want members that are both as excited and passionate about elven roleplay as we are, whilst also being able to understand that, whilst we seek to facilitate a realistic approach, we also prioritise fun and want to ensure that the roleplay we provide is just that - fun! We want to foster the guild community into becoming a group of friends that can have fun with one another, without any drama. To this end, we also have guild discord set up that’s active, with members regularly taking part in other aspects of World of Warcraft (i.e. PvE and PvP), as well as other games and general banter.

What are we not looking for?
On a similar train of thought as the previous statement, we’re not looking for individuals that thrive on drama, or characters that’re mary-sues. We understand that Quel’dorei have an affinity for magic and are hundreds, if not thousands of years old, and that this’ll translate into (for the most part!) highly-trained and skilled individuals which represent the best-trained, surviving numbers of the High Elf population, but we are not looking for characters whose power rivals that of individuals such as Lor’themar and Alleria.

FAQs

  • What races do you accept?

At this time, we currently primarily accept High Elves, OOCly played by Void Elves. With the upcoming pre-patch for Shadowlands, Void Elves will receive all customisation options currently enjoyed by Blood Elf players, as well as blue eyes - which means that this is the perfect time for High Elven roleplay! After some consideration, we are also accepting a small number of half elves and void elves, all of whom will be considered individually on a select basis.

  • What classes do you accept?

We are currently accepting Warriors, Hunters, Rogues, Priests and Mages. The other three classes, Monks, Death Knights, and Warlocks, will be considered strictly on a case-by-case basis.

  • What is your stance on new players?

As long as they have a basic grasp on English and are willing to learn, grow and develop their role play then they’re more than welcome to join; after all, no one is perfect and we’ve all had to start from somewhere and we all continue to better our role play.

  • What makes you unique?

We’re taking a perhaps unexplored route of High Elven RP, looking at the potential minority that are disillusioned with the current leadership and armistice, along with the apathy shown by Alliance leadership towards Quel’Thalas, and the crimes the Horde have committed against the High Elven people - along with a healthy sprinkling of racial supremacy! Hopefully we will be moving forwards with whatever the CDev team at Blizzard throws at us, for better or worse.

  • What sort of events can I expect?

A variety of story-focused events will be occurring within the guild, with ongoing plotlines and out-of-event plot-hooks to grab the attention of the members. An example of this would be a golem servitor core laying around the campsite, a possible device for arcane-engineers to pick up on and pursue the creation of a golem, generating role play for themselves. We will also be taking part, where possible, in RPPvP campaigns/events.

  • How can I join?

If you’d like to join our group, you can do so by whispering any of our online members who will be happy to point you towards an available officer, or by contacting one of us directly if you see us! Currently, recruiting officers are Vythanir and Talirei.

Where will you be based?
Also, I’m glad to see people planning ahead and preparing for what is to come.

I thought it was just skin colours?

Skin and eye colours are confirmed so far, but I think hairstyles aren’t 100% - the blue post that they made (I can’t link to it due to the forum levels) shows that skin and the blue eye colours are at least available!

We’ll be moving around quite frequently - we’ll pop up in Stormwind and around the Hinterlands in particular.

Farstrider Lodge in Loch Modan is also a good stopping place!
Moving between the lodges and the city should lend itself to a good variety of RP.

Definitely - we love random RP, and will be carrying potions of tongues on us all the time, so if you run into us always feel free to say hi!

We’d love to make friends with your bearded fellow! Maybe he can join us in shaving any Vulpera we come across :dagger:

No. We have to kill the trolls and Forsaken first. Jeeeez.

I think we’re going to need to make a list of what to kill and the order in which to kill it. I agree - undead at the top. Then Trolls… then Orcs. Then shave the Vulpera?
