As responded above:
but it doesnāt, as I indicated by pointing out a good number of DKs in faction-leadership positions.
Itās far from subtle that, if anything, it was indeed as Tempercoil said a wacky namedrop.
Donāt think thatās the case. I deleted a good few mutually unflattering comments in that discord.
And when you asked in that very same discord, people elaborated, only to get absolutely no reply.
Are you surprised that people write more in places where they get responded to?
But indeed, it seems to be a simple case of miscommunication, thatāll happen. Cāest la vie.
It does, as we never see a Death Knight as a High Executor, one of the highest (if not THE highest) ranks with the Forsaken.
And I guess by not responding to the rest you are admitting you were wrong about your earlier position?
no Iām just not really sure what you want me to do except for once again repeat the ākilling machineā snippet, so Iām kinda just ceasing to ackowledge it to spare myself the time.
which is plausible as, yet again, we see a precedent set for it where DKs seem quite capable of making rank in the horde and alliance.
Like this dude
Dunno about you, but deathguard captain sounds pretty high up
I expect you to actually respond to what I have written instead of weakly & meekly grasping at straws. I want you to explain how you think that it is implausible for a Death Knight to aspire to be anything other than that simple killing machine.
Good, so you do agree with me that it is fair to extent what is seen in-game to what is plausible. Just like going from a Death Knight in the forsaken military to accepting that one could rise to a high leadership position it is plausible to go from Thassarian rejoining the Alliance out of sentimentality to a Death Knight taking to some chivalric oath out of sentimentality.
Look, if they want to play following the virtues in that oath let them. Nothing stops you from pointing your finger and laugh at them IC for following what you believe to be foolish and unsuited to a Death Knight.
Death Knights are characters first, each with his or her own ideals, biases, and moral compass coming from their experiences while they were alive, and then re-shaped to an extent by Undeath.
How much Undeath has altered their perception and mind depends on how strong will the character has in order to keep parts or most of his previous personality.
There is nothing to say āno, you canāt have strong morals and even follow a Paladin-esque code of conduct as a Death Knightā if your will was strong enough to survive the grave. However, how much of that you can keep up while among other Death Knights who donāt share your view on things, thatās another story.
Again, nobody stops other DK characters from being outright hostile to just point and laugh at anyone following this Paladin-esque code, dismissing them as mere fools clinging onto ethics no longer relevant to their kind.
And also: NPCs represent stereotypes of a class for the most part, not detailed in-depth character studies on how X might affect the characterās personality and view on all things around him. They are to be used as inspiration and a general idea for the class style, not as something to be followed dogmatically.
Yes, as already stated before, what we see in-game in the form of NPCs and quests serves a guideline on which we build.
any DK can take any old oath, keeping it is another matter altogether.
To the best of my knowledge, I have. Feel free to repeat it over and over, Iām gonna give Lysandre her thread back.
There is quite literally nothing I could do to stop them, it really isnāt a matter of me ālettingā anyone do anything. Weird phrasing.
Okaaaaaaay
That is the last thing thing you actually responded before just repeating āBUT THEY ARE KILLING MACHINES!!!ā with tears in your eyes. You have completely ignored any response to that.
Exactly, that is the very point of the whole concept.
Is this still too hard for you to comprehend?
Donāt you have more epic drama bombs to fumble?
Please never use phrases like this again
Do you have more braincells to murder?
None with you.
Guess uāve killed them all debating politics on AD/D
Weird dig, but okay.
Lmao what?
āWierd dig, but okayā
Sad to see the romans resort to āno uā uno card playing now, even with an extra backup dancer.
No you just had a dig at someone then complained when they did it back.
Weird dig but ok
This is all arindhaās fault
Please never use Perroy as an example and call someone a backup dancer in the same thread again.
