[A-RP] Lothar Company

Lothar Company:

Formed of veterans of the Fourth War and fresh recruits eager to serve Stormwind and the Alliance.

Lothar Company, named in honour of one of Stormwind’s finest heroes, is to muster, train and be ready to serve the king, the kingdom and its people against the darkness to come.

The Company is made up of individuals from various backgrounds all tempered in the fires of war and each one ready to die for King Anduin.

Alliance Military Roleplay.

The Company serves the Crown and the Alliance.

Fighting side by side with heroes and units from the unified races of the alliance.

Lothar Company is a quick reaction force of swordsman and archers ready to deploy across Azeroth and tackle any foe in the name of King Anduin.

The Company is expected to undertake deployments across Azeroth in order to maintain the truce and to respond to any impending threats against Stormwind and the Alliance.

The Company will partake in both RP PvE and PvP events on a daily basis.

Normally, the Company will undertake a period of recruitment and training prior to deployment on a player-made “campaign”, led by one of our leadership team.

Recruitment:

The shimmering lion clad blue banners of Stormwind oft inspire dreams of glory in those who behold such a glittering sight.

These inspired sons and daughters of Lothar are encouraged to enlist, don the golden lion and fight in service of the crown.

Enlistment is either at Westbrook Garrison or through one of the many recruitment parties sent into Stormwind and the surrounding villages and hamlets.

The Alliance has many units and formations each serving a function and representing the various races that make up the grand coalition.

Lothar Company consists of heavy infantry supported by a small ranged contingent.

Drawn from both male and female humans born or residing in Stormwind.
While it aims to work with all of those who represent the alliance.

Logistically, enlisted personnel are drawn only from male and female humans of the eastern kingdoms - excluding Kul’Tiras which has its own military formations.

Next Steps:

Lothar Company will officially mobilize on the 24th of August 2020.

If you have any questions or you would like to enlist then do not hesitate to contact one of our recruitment officers:

Lebennin, Kenyón, Marrwyn or Bergmann.

Another glorious day in this man’s army!

Just to make sure, I imagine this means only bow(/gun)men and the like, not local magic users from say, the Stormwind arcane academy?(Or priests, for that matter!)

You imagine quite precisely! Currently our ranged contingent is to be relatively small and stream-lined, and there was a general consensus about the question: why on Azeroth would a powerful wizard join a company of frontline troops?

Mages obviously have their benefits, so it’s possibly something we’ll look into in the future, when the guild has settled and we’ve hammered down doctrines and manifests.

We’d love to have a priest or two, however! :sunglasses:

Why not though? There are mages in the Stormwind army and present at fights, and doesn’t all companies sort of want a priest to be able to heal their wounds?

Anyways, looking nice and good luck

Mages are an incredibly important part of the Alliance military, no doubt. But would they be permanently attached to a company of swordsmen and recruits?

The daily routine of a soldier in Lothar Company just doesn’t really fit what a mage would be doing at a similar time. Can you imagine assigning a mage to sentry duty? Madness!

For the duties of an infantryman they’re simply overqualified!

I see your points, thanks for the answer

Know these guys from the past. Good people running the show. Good luck!

This is pretty much the same sentiment I’d have - a mage may be attached to the unit for special assignments; but would they live with the unit? Train with the unit? Likely not.

Always good to see more blue! Good luck friends!

The taverns and pubs of Stormwind were bustling with life last night, as recruits and transfers and soldiering men gathered to drink on the King’s dime. If his Majesty is aware, that I cannot say…

L Coy’s first Company Social was a resounding success, with ale aflowing and mustering men causing a little trouble in the streets of Stormwind, mostly to their own detriment. Obviously a few carousing soldiers enjoying their last evening of-… freedom, my script tells me, is nothing compared to the troubles that took Stormwind the day before, so the resident guardsmen and watchmen of Stormwind were quick and well-prepared to make sure only a pair of boots vanished in the night.

Tonight all those men muster at Westbrook Garrison to formally and effectively join the armies of Stormwind, as recruits or transfers from defunct or re-organised units. Weeks of training awaits them, but peace is fleeting, and to preserve it, one must be willing to stand sentry for many hours.

Big thanks to the chill people staffing the Pig n’ Whistle, a woman of the City Watch who is now a pair of boots richer, and a funky-looking gnome wizard who had nothing more to say than “Huh” for a whole ten minutes observing one of the guys being sat upon.

It’s been a busy evening down at Westbrook Garrison!

Those who wished to sign themselves up to the King’s Sword Regiment congregated outside the garrison in Elwynn before being inspected by First Sergeant Ryker.

After a short induction and some quick paperwork the troops were introduced to what would be their new home whilst training in the ways of the infantryman.

The recruits were then given a quick shave and their kit before being briefed on their first training exercise; THE GAUNTLET! Bunkroom B took the victory and are enjoying the fruits of their conquest as Bunkroom A cook their dinner!
