Awesome Thornroot! Excited to hear that.
I'll organise the Spring Festival on 8th (Saturday), as it works a bit better for me due to having work Monday-Friday. I like having the afternoon free for making last moment preparations. I'd love to see a Starhost gathering on Sunday!

Plenty of time for your group to get out of Stonetalon, Koriandr! 3 weeks to go!

Hah, yes, except that I believe we're moving towards Desolace. XD
So I've not long come back to the game and I'm thinking about village hours. Is there anything currently in place or is there an opening for something along those lines/enough interest in such an event to get it rolling again?
@Duskweaver: Nobody has been organising the Village Hours recently, so if you'd like to do that, I'm sure people would be open to it. I am however uncertain how actively the various night elf guilds are in combat with the Legion at the moment, as in whether things are calming down for a little while (more demand for casual social events) until picking up soon again when patch 7.2 ( http://wow.gamepedia.com/Patch_7.2.0 ) arrives. When the patch happens, I think a lot of people wil focus on fighting the dangers out there again, rather than sit down to have a good time. :)
Edit: To sit with the theme, and differing from the previous purely light-hearted Village Hours, perhaps the new Village Hours could provide something meaningful such as lessons and discussions on how to fight different types of demons, sharing information and so forth over a feast?
Perhaps some sparring?

That was genuinely the ideas I was coming up with. During war time, itd be more combat/survival orientated and would take a more lighthearted turn in downtime. It'd be nice to get a but of an interest poll going, I guess. But I imagine people will reply at some point :)

It's funny.
Me and some others were brainstorming on some fun community events and this was brought up:

tries to rouse interest
I like the idea! I'd say go for it! I'm confident there'd be at least a handful of people unless the date overlaps with guild events.
I remember having seen that before and it's a good idea!
Adding links to somewhat related stuff, in case they might spark you with any inspiration too!

He heh..
We can totally help with that
Also yes to sparring, I like sparring
The Nightblades have an offical forum recruitment post now, so feel free to add that if you want Acrona!

Regarding the 'inspiration' element- unless your elf has some unique upbringing, they likely have a strong bond to the natural world. So, step away from your keyboard, get out in nature. Notice the smell of trees, the rustling of a nearby bird. Imagine what it would be like to run through the forest by moonlight as its guardian.

Updated the info, Tinwëtar!
Seems like the Legion patch 7.2 will be released around 28th. I feel it might be unfitting to host the Spring Festival 1,5 weeks after the patch, as the patch trailer hints at that it's going be a darn dire situation from In Character perspective. I'm leaning towards cancelling the event for now.
How do you guys feel about this?

We could still possibly have some kind an event next week, related to the patch. Starhost type martial rally / a small cross-guild gathering? Some speeches in Darnassus?

The citizens of Darnassus still have to hold hope, and could use something to distract them from the burgeoning threat. The festival may have to take a different tone, but I think it can still justifiably go on if everyone is still up for it? I know we certainly are.
I'm in the process - between sporadic bouts of exam revision - of writing up a proper campaign proposal for the Starhost. I'll put up more details in the next few days, but I do like the idea of the rally following on from the Spring Festival, or if no festival-festival is taking place then attempting to incorporate some of the thematic elements in to the event; commemorating rejuvenation before a renewed offensive against the Legion? Exchanging bracers of kinship with the brothers and sisters you are going off to face the end of the world with? It'd be pretty cool stuff.
Different tone, perhaps, but not unworkable!

Thanks for the comments, guys! I'd be happy to organise the event still if people just were interested in joining it. My concern is that a lot of people would cancel their attendance because IC they have "better things to do" related to the patch than taking part in a festival. You're both right that the event would likely benefit from taking on a bit different tone, if it still happens, to feel topical In Character.
I'm open to tinkering the atmosphere and details of the event, and would love to discuss ideas further!

What you, Thornroot and Nialls have already suggested, pretty much.
I think it could still fit in regardless of recent dire developments and would love to see it happen!
The Crescents are looking forward to your Spring Festival, Acrona! Whether it be on the chosen date, or postponed, we'll definitely be attending! I agree that even those who remain in the Homelands - be they fighters protecting it or civilians - they need some needed respite and joy too!
Also, very intrigued by The Star Host initiative. This will be interesting!

Hoping I can make it to the Spring Festival on Sylf'dir. Depends on how busy I am with my Belf and such.
