[A-RP] Night Elf Roleplay – Tips & Information

Slipping this in here to make sure it gets checked; https://eu.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/15889829201?page=5#post-88

Event Pitch TL;DR:

"Vengeance of the Night Warrior"
The great orders of the world advance on the Broken Shore; the Legion renews its assault on the Broken Isles; the final battle against the Legion on Azeroth is at hand. The Kaldorei ride to face their ancient foe as they did in ages past, defending their ancestral lands, and holding back the burning crusade in the name of the Goddess.
Type: World RP-PvE Campaign. Loose plotline with freedom to arrange events alongside.
Locations: Val’sharah & Azsuna, the Broken Isles
Guild Threshold: 3 Minimum.
When: 2 weeks after 7.2 lands, around 11th April
Organiser & Contacts: Thornroot, Saleysea

Open to any and all Night Elf themed guilds who want to get involved.
Both Starhost and the Spring Festival seem great ideas! Your festivals never disappointed before (quite on the contrary), will make sure to attend!
That looks nice Thornroot! I have decided to move my event a day earlier, so it is not on the same day the campaign starts.

A full moon sermon, by my priestess Dirania Whiteclaw. You can check it on on the AA page: https://www.argentarchives.org/node/188814

10th of april, 20:30 at the moonwell of purity in Ashenvale.
Looking forward to the sermon Dirania, and if I cannot make it, I hope it goes well!

FYI the Spring Festival is still going to happen on 8th (this Saturday) in Darnassus. Don't miss out on the fun! Thanks everyone who recommended to host it despite the latest patch.

Updated event details:
https://www.argentarchives.org/node/188555

Event program in short:

* Speech by Rhysthiel (priestess) in front of the Temple
* Offerings to ancestors left inside the temple
* Moving to the festival venue at Craftmen's Terrace
* Kimchi delivery contest (/roll based)
* A play on stage

Thanks to members of The Cenarion Guardians who will be bold and beautiful on stage, performing a tongue-in-cheek play for the audience! I am very much looking forward to it!

I'll also make sure that Kimchi Delivery won't drag out as long as last year.

Looking for some helping hands to make the event feel festive:
- 1-2 night elf characters to host a traditional kaldorei cuisine stall at the Cooking House near the stage area at Craftmen's Terrace, providing food and snacks for the people. If anyone is up for this, that'd be most appreciated! On top of some of the classics, you can come up with dishes of your own that have a night elven flair.

- If you'd like to help with some fireworks (provided for you) at the event, please be in touch!
Looking forward to the festival! The Blood will be around to serve as part-time security (we're only occasionally festive) since you never know when the Legion might try to crash another one of our parties.

Very hyped!
Thank you lots for going through with the festival, Acrona! It was lovely.
Thank you for hosting the festival, yeah! Hope everyone liked it!
Thanks everyone for coming, you were amazing! I made a separate thread for Spring Festival related after-chatter - video footage to come! :

It's short notice, but I decided to organise a small social event in Dolanaar this coming Saturday the 6th of May. Everyone's welcome to attend, listen, and hopefully tell a story, too!

Dolanaar Story Night: https://www.argentarchives.org/node/190647

Dolanaar was chosen because it's right outside Shadowglen, which means we might be able to entice a few newcomers. It's also easy for people who just want to have a peek at night elves doing stuff to make an alt and come join.
Thanks for those that swung by! I think we managed to reach 10 people at some point. Listeners were and are of course welcome, but it'd be swell if more than 1 person other than me had prepared a story for the event. :)

Still! We'll give it another go next month, on the 3rd of June: https://www.argentarchives.org/node/190647

Edit: Sadly, due to real life scheduling conflicts (blame exam season) I've had to cancel the event for now, until my schedule clears up.
Great! I'll keep these posted in the events section :)
I'm thinking of perhaps initiating a night elf Training Hours kind of an event in Feathermoon next week, to bring some of us knife ears together.

Is there something you guys would like to see? Would any of you perhaps be interested in holding something, from military esque contest to training type game to battle related lecture/discussion?

Edit: The guilds listing has also been updated.
Feathermoon Fight Night - 26 May 2017
Posters in night elf settlements invite the children of the stars, and those working closely with them, to a sparring event in Feathermoon Stronghold.

https://www.argentarchives.org/node/191281

Weeks have passed since groups of elves banded together under Starhost to fight against the Burning Legion on the Broken Isles. The Fight Night provides a chance to catch up after people went their separate ways, share combat knowledge against the demons, and spar together.

People have an opportunity to ask anyone to train with them, as well as inquire advice on martial arts from the more skilled. When proposing a duel to test one's mettle, one should evaluate if the opponent is of equal skill and health to avoid unnecessary injuries during the gathering.

People can either practise Pankration ( https://www.argentarchives.org/node/170489 ) or choose their own terms for sparring with their opponent.

There'll also be a Soup Stall to provide energy for the hungry.

OOC details:

This is intended to be a quite informal get-together for night elves. Characters such as worgen and draenei who feel they work closely with the night elves are also welcome. People can choose on their own who they wish to challenge to a duel or spar with them, and decide with the other person whether to use rolls, PvP or free emotes.

Please try keep the sparring & duels fun for both parties, as the event is about generating enjoyable roleplay, not a competition. Consider it an opportunity to further character contacts! People can also come just for some mingling.

The Bladecrest Sentinels is helping with the event - thank you! And thanks to Thornroot for writing up Pankration!

Feathermoon Fight Night - 26 May 2017

Thank you for the initiative, Acrona! It was great fun.
Thanks for the roleplay, folks!
Thanks for the roleplay everyone, indeed! I had fun having Acrona end up in the soil, and watching other people. I think we had a good number of attendees; it wasn't super crowded but there was plenty going on. Cheers everyone who took the initiative to spar with someone and mingle. I got the impression people liked that they could pick either rolls, free emotes or PvP with their partner, so we could use this format in the future as well.

A bit of video footage of the event:

I'm so glad you came and that you enjoyed it!

On that note, I want to thank everyone who showed up at our Jurina'tore celebration last night! It was so much fun!

I also want to thank Acrona and Alydiel especially for their excellent tips, input and help in creating this event. Your help was invaluable. Thank you! And Alydiel's sermon was amazing! <3
