Quote:
"We do not fight for the sake of it. We fight because we must."
-Sir Kalious Briarcliff

Heed the call,

We are at war with the likes of the Horde once again and their advance throughout the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor continues to prove that they are nothing but resilient. We call upon those of the Alliance to aid in House Briarcliff’s cause to flush out the scum that has since laid siege to our beloved homes.

I have been with many through my years, both of good intent and malicious. Though in that time, it has tempered both my blade and my mind and has proven to be a fundamental advantage in being firm but fair to the people under my banner, something I will strive toward when we are upon the frontlines of war.

Our ambition is to keep the lands which we call our home unbroken and allow no advance to the Horde’s war machine to keep the safety of our people and our lands absolute. Take up arms and seek us out within the city of Stormwind in the name of the Grand Alliance.

Esarus thar no’Darador,
Sir Kalious Briarcliff

  • Patriarch
The rank and title of Patriarch, both ICly and OOCly stands at the top of the hierarchy and serves as the primary officer of the guild. Honorbound to look after the House’s members and oversee ALL operations. The Patriarch also takes command on the battlefield and stands as the voice of reason in conflict among the brothers and sisters of House Briarcliff.
  • Commander
The Commander stands as second-in-command when the Household’s hierarchy is taken in to effect. Having much the same tasks of the Patriarch, it is also the duty of the Commander to ensure that no ruling of the head is unfair to those of the House, serving as a guardian, both of the Household but also against any that would seek the alter the House’s ways and responsibility.
  • Knight-Captain
The Knight Captain is the upper echelon of the House’s knights. Considered an elite among the ranks, the Knight Captain, when the hierarchy awakens will take most priority in command when neither the Patriarch or the Commander are available. This rank is not fully considered to be the embodiment of chivalry or honour, but does the epitome of the House’s values, seen fit to safeguard the very monarch himself.
  • Spymasters
Accomplished tacticians and masters of espionage, the Spymasters provide both the Patriarch and his small council a constant flow of relevant and important information of the enemies movements as well as keeping an eye on potential threats that loom within their vicinity while also fending against foes of House Briarcliff. These individuals are hand-picked by either the Patriarch or the Commander showing a fine level of respect and trust in said person with confidential information.
  • Knight
Knights of the House are those of the anointed who have rallied to the banner of the Oaken Tree but have yet to take an oath of fealty. Those of House Briarcliff share a mutual respect and understanding that no knight should be expected to swear full fealty to the House before they have had a chance to decide if it is truly fit to be called their home.
  • Magus
Master of the arcane and other magical properties, those within the ranks of the Magus act as the ever knowledgeable seekers of such and spell-casters alike. Each holds to their own specialisation though fits within the rank all the same along with fellow mages, conjurers, enchanters and sorcerers to provide the Household with ranged support upon the front lines of battle.
  • Clergy
Those who have studied the ever useful properties of the Light can find refuge within the House’s Clergy. It has continued to act as the Household’s holy atonement sharing a range of Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, Healers, Maesters and Clerics to aid the wounded and confess the sins of previous works before the establishment of said Clergy. Those whom embrace the holy Light will forever have a safeguard and a watchful eye over the people of House Briarcliff.
  • Squire
With a Household of knights follows of course the young hopeful men and women that wish to pursue their own path to knighthood. Following their mentor into war, these young knight aspirants are also expected to shine the armour of their knights and keep the weapons intact and steeds ready when asked of their respected overseer.
  • Bannerman
Whilst House Briarcliff harbours primarily knights, it is not impossible for outsiders to join. Some join because they have friends in the House, others seek a greater purpose without wishing to sign onto a military contract and others may merely join to prove their capability on the battlefield in the hopes ascend into knighthood. No matter their reasons, the House and its people are considered equal when it comes to meetings, debates and similar occurrences, although they are expected to maintain a respectful tone and conduct around the Knights to honour their purpose as well as those above in the awakened hierarchy.

Other Information

  • Focuses on RP-PVP and indulges in day to day Casual RP, less DMed Events.
  • Guild tabard to be worn when on duty. No official uniform yet.
  • A majority of races/classes are allowed within the ranks.
  • The use of void or shadow magic is highly frowned upon.
  • Highly Militarised and follows a Knightly conduct.
  • Discipline is an overall theme that is upheld within the guild.

Introduction
A once dormant guild now reformed and inspired with the release of Battle for Azeroth! We seek to recruit a vast selection of individuals ranging from Soldiers, Knights, Merchants, Spymasters, Squires, Clerics and many more upon the front lines. Recently stationed at Fenris Isle and taken under the banner of the Alliance, our travels will be taking us mostly to Lordaeron and the Arathi Highlands while interest in the new land of Kul Tiras. We also wish to establish a foothold within Boralus when we gain a few more members for a continuous flow of dedicated and casual roleplay whilst keeping tracks of the occurrences within the Eastern Kingdoms.

Roleplay
We want to explore both the regions of the world with the company we accumulate as well as the stoic laws and regulations of a household guild providing individuals with character development, immersive and interactive stories/events while keeping a standard that is approachable for both new and old players within the World of Warcraft Roleplay Community. As said, the recently boost in activity within the North will aid both ourselves and any Third Party guilds or individuals that wish to fight along side or against House Briarcliff to defend the North and keep the border as well as Fenris Isle unbroken under the banner of the Alliance.

Recruitment
You first join as an aspiring protector of the North as a new member (Bannerman) of House Briarcliff for potential character development! All those that wish for a Knighthood can squire under a respected Knight, learning the ropes and forming kinship along the way. If you’re a soldier or anything else, we WILL respect your character’s backstory and will find a suitable position within the guild that best represents your character’s previous history and experiences. If you wish for further information, gimme a shout on Discord or chat to me in-game via the whisper channel!

The ultimate fates of the Northern Battalion and House Briarcliff within the last two months or so make me wonder as to the longevity of this guild, not directly because of the result of the previous two (it is not unheard of for guilds to go through a few teething phases before landing on their feet) but really because of how identical all of these concepts have been. Why’s this one going to last and avoid being left in a gutter after a few weeks?

An understandable point, though both guilds aforementioned simply disbanded due to IRL commitments and unfortunate circumstances, especially The Northern Battalion and The Red Hilt scenario.

House Briarcliff was a tester to be honest as it was once a big guild with a large community that I’ve since re-established. I merely attempted to bring it back but a majority of the previous members didn’t come back to WoW or found occupation elsewhere.

This guild is of the same genre, yes, but I’m trying to innovate an actual narrative rather then throwing a guild out because I want “Numbers”. We’re moreso a social guild who rely on the elements of RP to keep our story going, something that has been going well so far. As always, I appreciate the feedback and concern. It will be taken in to consideration.

In my experience, I find it’s best to get your guild moving for a month or so. Gather an active community, create a good narrative through your events etc. If it works, give it a thread. A guild concept can be as mundane and tired as you like, pretty much the most boring concepts tend to flourish - but above all else, it bogs down to the dedication and charisma of the Guild Master. I’d also suggest sticking to a single guild.

Edit: You’re a shining star, shine brighter than these forum dorks

Again, your points are taken in to consideration. A majority of the guilds that I’ve been in have either disbanded or the GM became inactive as a result of IRL commitments. Regardless what server, I would prefer to make a guild with a strong core, which I’ve been able to gain.

From there, I will only move forward. Another reason I leave guilds it because I don’t agree with the initial idea after giving it some perspective thought, or the ideology/concept doesn’t meet my character’s taste, something you too have experienced after I left the Hallowed Tower.

That being said and regardless who it is, I thank you for the advice and will move on from it for the betterment of both myself and my guild’s community.

Most likely because there us no Leopold in charge.

Agreed. Reputation is key in Argent Dawn and in RP in general. If you’ve got one it can be all the difference how people intemperate you as both a character and the community you lead. Although the Leopold’s had a good run, their recklessness was their downfall. GM was a decent lad.

I find it slightly cringe the way your guild mate, Khastar, is logging on an alt to form some kinda false prompted interview. Nevertheless I hope that you are able to find what you’re looking for through this concept.

In all fairness I didn’t even know that was Khastar, or that he had a Rogue for that matter. But you have my thanks none the less, even in these times. From what I hear, you’re also attending the “War on all Fronts” campaign. If that’s so, we’ll see you there as I’m quite looking forward to it.

I only replied on an alt and I never indicated to start some fake “interview” those are your words mate and mainly I just gave a quick reply so the post doesn’t get deleted. And even if it is an alt you seem to be highly suspicious. Why so?

It was not used to offend you, I was merely highlighting the fact that posting on an alt can often be seen as cowardly and cringeworthy. Especially when you’re slagging off other players and guild masters in the process.

I wouldn’t care really if someone would reply on an alt since you can still see who it exactly is by going to their profiles.

Let it be known that the intention of this thread was only to advertise a guild and its ideas. Let’s keep it chill, no dispute nor confrontation is needed even if it was or wasn’t intended. :raised_hands:
