Stormwind’s Army - Military Roleplay
Front-line Combat & Training
Stormwind’s Infantry provides a unique experience, leading characters from a wealth of colourful backgrounds in to the flames of brutal fantasy combat. Dive head first in to an immersive, ever developing military story-line.
Take part in engaging training regimes, and then see the fruit of that discipline come to life on the battlefield. The proud banner of blue and gold, fluttering over ranks upon ranks of armour-clad men and women. Taking heart and solace, that they have bonded in friendships forged by bloodshed.
The ‘grunt’, is the common man, that steps away from a prior life, sacrificing everything to take up service against the most brutal of foes. The ranks are not comprised of heroic paladins, nor unyielding Death Knights clad in saronite. This is what makes our story so diverse from every other out there.
Every soldier wearing the uniform, has a multitude of stories to tell, and from these ranks of common men, placed in the most horrifying battles, the legends are born.
“…A common lad from Westfall, born to toil and sow seeds. It was in Faronaar, upon tainted land, that his pike thrust true in to the enemy, and through luck or the Light’s intervention - saved the Commander from certain death.”
How it works:
An insight in video form:

The Army Infantry undertakes a three part cycle. Recruitment. Training. Deployment. The latter can see troops move from deployment to deployment, but ultimately, the cycle is always repeated.
The meat grind that is close-quarters combat, especially against lethal combatants, can often be a costly encounter.
Recruitment is the ideal time to enlist, as special care is given to each newly enlisted soldier. Their equipment is explained in full, they are taught all about the weapons they are issued, how to use them, et-cetera. In short, basic training.
Troops continually develop their skills. Veteran soldiers, although are required to ‘top up’ their knowledge to prevent ‘skill fade’, will often find themselves developing their careers. There are currently three specializations; Scout, Combat Engineer, Combat Medic.
These specializations are only available once you have completed basic training. There is also plans to expand the specialist arms further, but new specialist arms are opened only when the existing ones are stable and supported.
Troops will also undertake NCO cadres when they are experienced enough, earning them their chevrons as they promote.
After all the training is concluded, soldiers will find themselves in a briefing room, finding out about the next major overseas operation (or sometimes homefront objective)!
Throughout all of this, you will develop friendships, both IC and OOC. Your character will develop in a multitude of ways, and you will find yourself wrapped up in a huge, ever developing storyline.
"…As the catapults pelted the Undercity, and the arrows rained down upon his friends, Sergeant A. Puddle was exposed to the chemical agent. At first, it was just another wound, an arrow like several he had endured before. Yet this one was different, it was here, Sergeant A. Puddle, began to liquidize from within…
His brothers looked on helplessly. A single shot barked out from a flintlocke, and the man’s suffering was ended. His nightmarish screams echoed in the mind of every on-looker. With a look of agonized vengeance, the soldiers thundered forth with a charge of blood-thirsty retaliation."
How do I enlist?
Full details are on our website (the link of which is provided at the top of this thread). Although we encourage people to try to enlist before training, we generally accept new recruits on a continual basis.
It should be aware, that joining experiences will differ as a result of this. It may be much more difficult to accommodate a new soldier in operational circumstances. In some cases, enlistment may be deferred til a later date.
A full list of ‘who/what’ we look for, is provided on the website. Please do explore it!
